<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>Torts was well on his way to the playoffs when they lost Hart and the goalie play fell apart because they didn't have one. You can't deny he turned that team around already.
You can correlate their collapse with Harts absence.
But just to end this.
I'll just say this. Torts roasted a journalist this year for trying to drag Kevin Hayes, who he did not get along with as a player, into the Cutter Gauthier conversation. He could have not stood up for him. But he did. He's not going to mince words. He ripped the journalist, and said Hayes was a good man even if they couldn't get along on how to play. But it's not like he didn't care about the guy or held some grudge against him. If you'd actually seen those press conferences, like the after CBJ got a win against PIT in the playoffs after playing really well but losing game after game... you'd get it.
He knew his team was out gunned, and they played hard every game but couldn't get a win. When they finally did, he was just like I'm happy for the kids, I'm glad they get to play some music and enjoy this. Truth is, he knew they would lose that series. But just wanted them to have some fun after all the work they put in and it not be some horrible experience.
But people like you don't see that side of him and come to conclusions. There is a reason guys like Nick, Anderson, PLD, Savard, Dubinski, Jenner, etc.... would have gone through a wall pounding on other teams and dropping gloves for that team. It started with the coach. And that's a trait frankly MANY coaches lack. No one on PIT is going through a wall for that team. Nor TOR, or many other teams. A lot of that has to do with the coaches there.</div></div>

Again you are putting your subjective love for Torts and subjective hate for the Leafs (and other teams). OK you are entitled to that opinion, but "going through the wall) isn't fact.
Besides a few few good/great seasons, his coaching record is medicore at best. Still think he a superior coach fine, but your distain for other successful coaches is an appalling bad take.
"Homerism" at the worse.
Sorry your hate for some other coaches just because they aren't as great on camera as the self publicizing as Torts is affects your logical thoughts on other opinions
Good bye.
