I just couldn't disagree more with you. ONE player. The core of the hockey team started when Yzerman took over. The players he drafted are the ones we try to win with. Yes Larkin is a part of the core now, and bc of what he means to the franchise he is a guy you try to win with and reward as they have tried in improving through free agency. But he is not the centre of our solar system. And I can guarantee you that Yzerman sees it the same. You develop the kids the right way no matter what that means.
Like how do you think the wings could have created a cup contender more quickly to be at the peak now?

People get caught up with Larkin, it's one player, not a superstar. Good player, competitor and leader. But this isn't the situation you have to hit in their prime. He can still be a good player in 3 years, 4, even 5.

Red Wings should start playing their prospects.
Problem is Red Wings fans favorite saying is "needs another year in Grand Rapids."
It's Pavlovian.
So drinking Yzerman's Kool-aid will result in players only being promoted when they're out of waiver options like Berggren is.
But you're not allowed to ever criticize Yzerman.
It's a federal offense.
Of course he knows more than I do.
I'd certainly hope so. 🤭</div></div>

But personally I don't disagree with the way Yzerman has handled the prospects so far. The only one I can question for me is Berggren, but I also understand why it was done this way. The next season maybe has more to consider

It's not popular opinion but I'd rather have that roster spot for Berggren, and we can keep those two defenders for depth as they both are solid. I wouldn't expect Ajo to play 80 games, so it is probably a rotation. The only UFAs I want back are really Perron and Fischer, but that is just my take and not shared with most wings fans. I would like Stammer but not the term that is likely needed.

Expensive LT deals for Seider and Raymond
I'd be satisfied with those deals but I do question if Seider has earned it this year. I know we put him in tough situations, but many games he just doesn't have the urgency he needs to play with, and gets himself out of position a lot thanks to Lalonees system.
As decent as Veleno was to start the season, I'd consider making him expendable as he may be one of the easier guys to clear off for both cap and roster spots reasons. Him and Fabbri. Both decent players but I think spots we need to improve internally on with likes of Kasper and Mazur/Sodes/Bergers.
Curious to see if Kane/Perron return and I'm guessing no chance on Sprong now that a good season turned into being a healthy down the stretch.
Ideally if we could retain half on Holl and dump him, we could consider an upgrade on D. But it's tricky with AlJo losing his waiver exempt status, we would still surely have to carry 8 D.

Tougher and better defensively
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>They literally brought him in AS A FORMER 1ST OVERALL PICK to be a mentor to Bedard (a 1st overall pick), just like he was brought in to mentor Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier, to help them handle the limelight of being a 1st overall pick in the NHL. CHI has literally come out and explained everything they are doing and why they are doing it, pretty much every step of the way. It's not that difficult of a concept to grasp.
CHI will not be paying other teams for the privilege of helping them with their cap and roster issues all for the purpose of getting to the cap floor. They will just overpay a couple free agents on short term contracts, just like they have been doing the last two summers. And no, Fabbri and Maata wouldn't make CHI better. Putting "lol" before and after everything doesn't make you right, bud.
If you disagree with everything I have said, you are essentially admitting that you don't know anything about the Hawks and their rebuild. Which means you should probably stop speaking out of turn about things you don't understand and stick to speaking about the Redwings.</div></div>
You're really one of these guys?
I said lol in front of ONE thing. And I said it bc I thought it was funny that I had to even say I do not think these guys are as good as Hall. That shouldn't have been difficult to grasp but I'll leave humour out of it.
About 'paying teams for the privilege' save it. There is no trade comp in here nor am I suggesting there would be much if any. I said and I'm sticking to it, that they could be a destination for them or similar players. For reasons I stater and the fact they have 1 year left and can be flipped. It is getting a decent player for nothing or close to it that can insulate the young players, make them more competitive, reach the cap floor, and be flipped.
I said this on the Kuznetsov deal and I'll say it again. Sometimes people on this site are just so out of touch with reality. Stuck behind a screen on a numbers game while gms are about a roster building game.
And just like putting lol in front of things doesn't make someone right, stating that you are right also doesn't make you right.
Maybe they acquire some guys by free agency, maybe by trade, but either way they will add.

Tougher and better defensively
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>They are not looking to improve from outside. If you "wholeheartedly believe" that CHI is looking to improve, then you obviously haven't been paying attention to CHI at all. Kyle Davidson has stated that his approach to this rebuild is one that will take time and patience and that he is rebuilding this team through the draft.
Also, how could you possibly believe Fabbri or Maata make CHI better? AND, how could you possibly conflate the acquisiton of Hall, a former 1st overall pick and Hart trophy winner, with acquiring Fabbri or Maata? Fabbri hasn't even had a healthy season since his rookie year, in which he still missed 10 games.
Getting to the cap floor is not a question of 'if' but 'how'. They will get there no problem, though.</div></div>
They will insulate their young players with some vets. Whether by trade or free agency. There is no question in my mind. Fabbri and Maata also easily make this team better and can be flipped at the deadline.
Sorry I did not realize that previous draft status had that much to do with whether the Blackhawks will like to acquire a player. I guess since Fabbri at 21 oa and Maata at 22 are too low for them, maybe they can get Nail Yakupov?
Lol I'm not saying these guys are as good as Hall. But I disagree completely with what you've said. We'll see in time I guess.

They traded for Hall did they not? I am not saying there would be much positive value, but they are a destination nonetheless. Wholeheartedly believe they are looking to improve and not just suck. That team is consistently competing.
Also need to hit the cap floor lol.

This is classic cap friendly overreaction. Kuznetsov could walk in and be an X-factor in the Canes pursuit of a cup. And here everybody will have said they lose the trade. For a measly third. Sometimes there is no sense of reality in this site. It's a fair deal.

From a jets perspective here, I would do Perfetti and the 1st. Maybe even plus a bit but hesitant for a guy like Salomonssom. Perfetti, 25 1st, and 3rd or similar would be about my max. Stanley if you want him haha. Buch would be a great add to the top 6. As would be Toffoli. Trading Perfetti is something I have no problem with personally, just not for a pure rental.
