What does next year look like
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Yeah. It's definitely special when they can stick with one team. Although, and no offense meant, I see PIT going into a rebuild in the near future, and I'm not sure anyone is gonna want to stick around for that. I could certainly be wrong, though. But they could probably recoup a ton of draft capital and prospects if they decided to start selling. So, if the plan is to rebuild, they should probably start soon. Tampa on the other hand, has a pretty weak prospect pool and no draft capital, too, but they also have a lot of youngish players that are still very good at hockey. So they could probably get away with a retool if it comes to that. It'd be nice if they could keep Stammer, but that dude could go out and get paid some big bucks if he wanted to, and I don't think TBL are the ones that are gonna do it.</div></div>
Sid won't go anywhere, and I highly doubt tanger or malkin will either. They seem pretty content to end their careers together.
Malkin maybe a wildcard, but I don't think Sid wears another sweater in the NHL, regardless of what people try to drum up. Even though they're playing as well as they are, they still wouldn't return much in a trade regardless of what pens fans want to say.
They may try and trade a few others but we will see.

Yeahhhh i'm not....
Your own media said he was too involved with decisions while Dubas was there, same will be true for Brad and whomever takes over when the Toronto media drives him out too.
Maybe another cup in 2067!

You can go ahead and assume that, but the league holds grudges.
Tell Shanahan to pound sand and the leafs would have a better team.

I'm by no means a Tampa fan, but I would hope they try to keep him around (unless he doesn't want to stay of course).
He's been pivotal for that market, and I do enjoy seeing players like that stick with the org that drafted them. The penguins have been very lucky to have three guys that (I believe) will all retire from the league having only played for the penguins. it's pretty special imo.

Nylander can stay in the AHL, he does not have it.
Saying "i've been sulking over how bad the team has turned out so far" is hilarious. Such a spoiled fan base.
Team is:
Top 5 in 5v5 xGoals
Top 5 in combined SV%
Believe top 10 in PK
They fix the powerplay and Rakell comes back and breaks the ice and they're fine.
Take a deep breath, enjoy the ride. We have been blessed with three generational talents that have stuck together since they were drafted. Enjoy the rest of the ride.

Title is definitely accurate.
Ottawa will probably flip Tarasenko at the deadline if they're out of it but they'll want assets back, not sure they'd want to tie themselves to Rakell.

Would go out on a ledge here and say Perry signs with HC Metallurg in the K cause I doubt he sees NHL ice again.

Habs Deal

Carter would say yes to leave his family for a couple months to finish his career and play games as opposed to not playing at all. At very least he can be convinced. He can still come back to Pitt.
Rakell doesn’t have a place on this team anymore and Anderson brings more to the game outside Fo scoring which neither is doing much of lately. I’d take him over Rakell on the Pens right now all day. Fills a void for the Pens.
Zohorna playing in top 6 is best value. He isn’t physical despite his size and has enough skill to play with Malkin.</div></div>
By all means, come back and rub it in my face if it happens.
Jeff Carter ends the season with the penguins, the pipe dream of him leaving is just that, a pipe dream. Even in the off chance he would waive to go somewhere, no team is taking him at his cap hit the penguins eat 50% of it and I can definitely tell you he is not waiving for this MTL team. TOR/NYR/LA/EDM/VGK/FLA/NJ sure, he'd maybe waive for the absolute top team, but they're not going to want him and if they do it's 50% retained.
I'd love to watch a hockey game with you because if you think Anderson brings more to a game than Rakell and that Z has enough skill for top 6... sheesh.

Not a chance Dach is a 2C
Ethan Bear hasn't been signed for this season, there's a reason
Phillips and Allan both have been working on playing on their off sides, no reason to bring in another D man.
Hawks right now are likely to draft Celebrini is awarded the #1 pick OA or Eiserman (most likely) at the #2 spot. Either will play next year and slot in the top 6. There is a chance the Hawks fall to #3 and grab the RHD guy in which case he will need a couple seasons.
Reichel will get more, probably 2.5, Vlassic may as well and would be smart of us to lock him up longer term if we can....$5M for 5 years would be good. Cap will go up to at least $85.5M</div></div>
Bear hasn't been signed because he hurt his shoulder during worlds this summer, he'll be on a team in the next 1-2 months. Similar situation to Kane, no one wanted to sign him until they had a better understanding of recovery.
Just adding on to add on... Stammer isn't signing for a rebuild. I honestly think the only rebuild situation he'd play for would be Tampa when they hit theirs. My guess is he stays in Tampa.

Pens would say yes. This makes them a better team.</div></div>
you think the habs are making the playoffs??? what???
Carter would not say no. Why is it that you and a few other penguins fans on here don't understand he's not leaving the team. It's his final year playing, he's already talked about understanding his role on the team, he isn't moving his family again, they just bought a huge house in Pittsburgh and are staying once he retires, he's not going anywhere.
This doesn't make the penguins better. I'm taking Rakell on Malkin's line over Zahorna every day that ends in y. Z is a bottom 6 winger at best, he does not have the skill or IQ to play top 6 minutes at a high clip.
Josh Anderson ain't it, having a worse year than Rakell and scored half the points rakell did last year.

I'd definitely gamble on someone like Laine still, specially a team that has high upside this season (VAN) but feel like CBJ would want picks or a better asset.
end of the day he's still only 25 and the skill is there.
