Pens getting it together for the playoffs
PIT isn't paying that for a backup goalie, no matter how many CHI fans want it.
PIT also isn't doing the WPG trade. Copp isn't worth that.

But yeah aside from Bozak and needing to give more than Gruden for someone to eat Zucker’s contract, I think these decisions are really good.
Side Note: Before I get people saying ‘Oh but ZuCkEr isn’t a BaD pLaYeR’, it’s the 5.5M that teams don’t want to spend on him so yes you would have to throw something more to offload all of it.</div></div>
potential he's 29 next year.
I'd rather take 3.9 million to FA than waste it on ERod.
As for Zucker, I think you are kidding yourself. AZ like 1/3 of a team signed for next year. They will need not only forwards but cap space to hit floor.
The goal for Zucker on any team will be to flip him at TDL for assets if they can get him to score points. It won't cost much for the penguins to move him.
The only issue will be if Zucker blocks the move. That's the only issue.

easy no from the penguins
Dickinson is a bottom 6 player the pick means nothing, and the prospect isn't very good.
They have no need for anything there. They aren't going to send you a guy with top 6 potential for it.

Next Year
0 chance the penguins do that.
I've stated this before but CHI fans were to stubborn to deal with it.
His QO sucks. He's DeBrusk 2.0.
He's not worth the cap hit. He's not a top 6 player. You take out the PP stats which he won't get on another team and you've got a 3rd line guy with mediocre production.
Can't see anyone jumping in on him, especially in the offseason.
CHI fans want to move him because they know he's not worth the cap hit going forward and want something for him besides letting him walk. But him walking is the right answer because CHI can do better with that QO cap hit in FA and everyone knows it. It's not like he's 22, he's 26. The FA would be roughly the same age.
So this is going no where. Someone will pick him up in the 1-2 mil range next season as a UFA is how this should pan out. Maybe he pulls a Heinen and turns it around, maybe he doesn't.
But there is no need for a team to give up assets to pay 4Mil on hopes and prayers.

I like Tankov, but he’s 19 years old still. Judd Caulfield as well. But he’s still a Junior.
And Ohh ya, E-Rod sucks according to u and your take. And same with Jeff Carter. You hated the Jeff Carter trade..lol. I love your takes.
Tankov playing RW next season..lol. He’s a 7th round pick and 19 years old; and u want him being a top line RW replacing Rust; playing on a 1st place/play-off team; and hasnt even played in the US yet(or even the KHL for that matter; he’s still in Russia’s Junior league). He’s got a long way to go.</div></div>
no one said he'd be playing next season.
Caulfield is still a solid player who should be signed this year so they don't lose him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DucharmetheDOMinator</b></div><div>Nemeth costs a 2nd to dump, and even though chiarot is worth a 2nd + 4th, he gets 1st + 3rd, therefore a 2nd or kravtsov or 1 of new Yorks 2nd round caliber prospects need to be added. If NYR don't wanna give that many picks Lundkvist + 2nd + 3rd makes sense.
Lehkonen gets 1st + 2nd or the equivalent of prospects, or else Habs don't trade him bc that's the perfect player for any roster. Vanecek + 2nd + 3rd makes sense for lehkonen, but can you switch vanecek to samsonov? Schultz. + 5th = montembeault. So can you switch vanecek to samsonov, and add a 5th?
Desmith doesn't have any value, but I think a prospect like Hallander or poulin should be added, while Habs add a 4th and with Allen being retained 50%.
You're saying zary needs to be added to dump lucic. 1st, I don't think Hoff would be a good fit in calgary,2nd Hoffman has value. If he goes to calgary a 2nd would have to be added to montreal here .
Kulak is really worth a 4th, but with a bidding war probably gets a 3rd so good job.
Overall pretty good!</div></div>
The insanity of this is unreal.
The penguins aren't sending you Poulin for Allen.
Matter of fact, we wouldn't even send a second for him.
No team is paying a 2nd for a backup goalie . Especially one that is over priced, your retaining on him would be mandatory for anyone even considering taken him.
Frankly, I'd rather just not have that contract next year at all, even retained.

And again, Hextall didn’t sign Friedman. The flyers signed Friedman. Hextall snagged him off waivers.</div></div>
I hate to break it to you but Simon was only brought in on a cheap contract to be a AHL tweener and was known by the team. To say he was a FA brought in is kind of really lame. Go look where he played before.
As for Friedman, as I said, he's a Hextall pet project. Period. He knows him, he brought him in to be a depth backup.
Neither one of these guys is a roster player unless it's a call up. Period.

TOR trying to fix it's defensive issues.
Dzingle should be waived and sent to the AHL. Try to save as much cap as they can.
As for AZ, I don't think they really lost anything here. They gained a 2nd, took on a cap dump. If AZ is smart they put him on waivers. But then again they will players next year and probably cap to get to the floor.
A second for 1.3 mil in cap space next year, and some rather bland players. I'd say AZ won this. But it depends if TOR defense improves.

I was 50/50 on it. But I'm getting to a 75/25 on it at this point.
I think he wants to retire a flyer. He wants to talk to them about a new contract. If there is a new contract in mind, he stays, if not, he's out.
I think PHL would like to offer him a new contract.
Just my take.

They claimed Friedman on waivers who is….you guessed it 5’11”.
Read the headline of the last article you posted. “SIZE ISNT EVERYTHING…”. Sure would they prefer bigger players? Probably. But they are going to go after what’s available to help the team. And if that means fixing a problem and clearing cap space, then so be it. Like I said, I guarantee you they aren’t saying “oh we like this player but he isn’t at least 6’0” so no thanks”
I’m willing to bet if Chicago came to the phone saying they’d trade Debrincat for Jason Zucker and retain half of Debrincat’s cap hit, they aren’t going to say “well we like his production and he is a far better player but we won’t do it cause Debrincat isn’t at least 6’0”
Like always you’re delusional about how the real world works. Stick to EA kid</div></div>
of ffs,
ERod and Simon were already here and they were resigned on cheap deals.
Friedman is a pet project of hextalls going back from PHL, and he's a 7th defenseman. He was signed last year when the Dcore was depleted at league min, and played a whole 17 games.
At some point maybe you can just be honest about the fact they openly stated they wanted bigger wingers than the whole list of 5'9 guys they had, and they got them.
But go on with the "delusional" part......as there is interview after interview with the president and GM both saying..... we want bigger players.
