<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Copenhagen</b></div><div>Chaisson got 20 goals last year and i dont think we could get rid of him for a 5th, Kapanen for a 1st is steep, does he have 15 goals this year.....Yikes. Blue jackets are going to have a hard time getting a first for Anderson now as well</div></div>

Chaisson scored 22 goals as a 28 year old, whereas his career high before that was 13. I don't think you can compare the two

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nhl_oilers</b></div><div>Wow HAHAHA. Of course I love hockey. Do you even pay attention to any other player besides the leafs. It doesn’t matter if you are 22 or not. There are different players I would rather spend that first on (even if I had to give more than that first round pick) to get instead of overpaying on Kapanen. By the way it doesn’t matter if you were picked in the first round either.</div></div>

It does matter if you're 22. He'll still be improving for the next 3-4 years and is under team control. It's also odd you think a former 1st round pick who is living up to the potential of a 1st round pick, can't fetch a 1st round pick - especially considering teams who give up 1st rounders are teams wanting to win immediately. So what would a team rather have: a future 1st round pick who can't help you for the next 2,3,4 years - or is even a guarantee to make the NHL - or a former 1st round pick who is almost in their prime, has the potential to score 20+ goals, kills penalties, has game-changing speed, and is on a favorable contract?
