Comtois on FIrst Line Trade Marner and Tavares to Florida
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TZ11</b></div><div>I don't understand why the Ducks would do this. The 2nd and the 1st have similar value. Let's say the Ducks pick is between 36 and 42 in maybe the best draft since 2015 and the Leafs pick is in the 20's in 2023 (not a bad draft class at all, but not quite as good as 2022 imo), then, with good drafting, you could get players of similar value. And giving up Comtois, Stolarz and a 5th for a RD that wouldn't clear waivers (assuming Manson is still in Anaheim when this trade happens), a goalie who might not even be needed next season and a good prospect that isn't NHL ready is not something I think the Ducks would do.</div></div>
maybe because amirov has better potential than comtois, holl can be reflipped for a 2nd, maybe more due to his right shot and good contract, mrazek is way better than stolarz and a first, no matter the year, is better than a 2nd.

I hope ur saying the trade is a fleecing from the ducks side, cuz thats what it is. Amirov has better potential than comtois, mrazek>>>stolarz, plus we are giving up holl and a first for a 2nd and 5th lmfao

strome is absolutely on the market, brannstrom is likely as well, although he would have a high cost. Many others aren't on the market but aren't necessarily off it either. However, there are a couple of players (Dunn, Boqvist, Copp) who are definitely not up for trade

I think he has potential, but he's not gonna get it on the leafs due to injury. Anderson can do all that simmonds can but he's better offensively and defensively. In an ideal world, simmonds is an AHL scratch so that he isn't hurting the big club but can still be a fantastic locker room guy, which imo is his biggest impact on the team

No. He wasn't good before the injury, hasn't been good for like 4 years now. Sadly the Leafs brought him back, really unnecessary and he just eats up cap.

I don't care. He isn't good anymore and should be our 16th forward or so. Ritchie can hit and fight as well and is much more skilled and will put up points and not hamper the team.

massive overpayment for bertuzzi, amirov is an A level prospect and Kerfoot is a 2nd liner who has thrived every time he's been given a chance in that role. You referenced the Coleman and goodrow trades, well we added grit in ritchie, and could add a cheaper 3rd liner for grit if needed.

Kesler
the johnson trade is completely different from this. It might cost us a 3rd or 4th to get kesler's contract, but we aren't in desperate need of cap space (unlike tampa) and kerfoot for 3.5 is fair value.

why would we trade robertson for 4 2nds?? robertson looks like he will be a top 6 NHLer maybe a 1st liner while who knows what those 2nds will become.

Also Liljegren in the top four is wishful thinking.</div></div>
Saving it for a deadline move. Muzzin is good enough to elevate Liljegren into a top 4 dman. I was about 50/50 on getting a dman but ultimately decided against it.

Try Goodrow or a trade for a physical guy that can win a battle. they also need a big d-man like Oleksiak for some physical pk</div></div>
The big 4 can get themselves the damn puck. Robertson has that skill but if you are making that much money you should actually battle for the puck (which 3/4 do very well…Mitch…). I considered oleksiak but ultimately put my trust in Liljegren, tho size isn’t a concern with Bogosian and Muzzin both being big and Muzzin being very smart physically. Sandin is also very good and smart physically, which is more important than being big.
