Honest thoughts on Montreal Canadiens prospect Cole Caufield?
I know you are going to think I’m biased just because I’m a habs fan, but I’m sticking with my opinion of him from before the draft, and if you don’t believe me I don’t care.
I see a similar player to DeBrincat, so someone that will definitely score 40 goals, and should be a 50 goal scorer. He doesn’t have anything else that REALLY sticks out, but his shot is elite. And if you complain about my bias, again this is just my honest opinion, and I would have the same opinion of him if he was drafted by someone else.

Three years in a row I was certain that a player on the Canadiens wasn’t going to be traded. 3 years in a row they are traded in 1 for 1s. I guess I should stop being surprised. This is a typical Bergevin “character” trade.

*listed somewhat chronologically
:lightnings
Sebastian Piche
2012 1st (Andrei Vasilevskiy)
:redwings
Kyle Quincey
At the time I’m sure this made sense for Detroit, but this is Andrei Vasilevskiy for Kyle Quincey!
:capitals
2012 1st (Filip Forsberg)
2012 2nd (Mike Winther)
:avalanche
Semyon Varlamov
Varlamov is a good goalie, but imagine an Avalanche top line of Forsberg/MacKinnon/Rantanen.
:sharks
2013 1st (Mirco Mueller)
:redwings
2013 1st (Anthony Mantha)
2013 2nd (Tyler Bertuzzi)
Detroit earns some redemption with this one. To think Mantha could be a Shark.....
:ducks
Jakob Silfverberg
Stefan Noesen
2014 1st (Nick Ritchie)
:senators
Bobby Ryan
Silfverberg is cheaper and just as good (if not better) as Ryan, then add in Ritchie’s skill and Ryan’s contract.....
:islanders
2015 1st (Matthew Barzal)
2015 2nd (Mitchell Stephens)
:oilers
Griffin Reinhart
Terribly one sided, Edmonton will never live this down. The pick that drafted Barzal actually originally belonged to Pittsburgh who sent it to Edmonton for Perron.
:mapleleafs
Olli Jokinen
Brendan Leipsic
2015 1st (Travis Konecny)

2015 1st (Travis Konecny)

2015 1st (Gabriel Carlsson)
2015 2nd (Jeremy Bracco)
This one isn’t aweful, but imagine if Toronto owned Konecny as well......

2016 1st (Jacob Chychrun)
:redwings
Joe Vitale
2016 1st (Dennis Cholowski)
2016 2nd (Filip Hronek)
And people wonder why Detroit is so bad, Chychrun and Vasilevkiy wasted!!!!
:hurricanes
Roland McKeown
2016 1st (Julien Gauthier)

Andrej Sekera
Makes some sense for LA, but Gauthier is going to be great for Carolina.
Just goes to show, it’s always a gamble when you trade 1st’s.

*****This is an idea i had on re-configuring the pro hockey leagues in NA and around the world. These are mock scenarios and there are teams I created/rebranded in the process. Ask me any questions if you have.*****
National Hockey League
Teams
The NHL announces that an expansion franchise will be awarded to the city of Seattle, WA for the 2021/22 season. Due to concerns over failing markets, the league allows the Carolina Hurricanes, Florida Panthers, Arizona Coyotes, and New York Islanders to relocate. Attendance figures still continue to be an issue for the Hurricanes and Panthers. Arizona and NY Islanders cannot come to an agreement on a new stadium in their respective areas. The cities receiving NHL teams via relocation are Hartford, CT, where teams will play in a newly-renovated XL Center with the prospect of a new area in the works; Quebec City, QUÉ, where the reason is obvious; Hamilton, ONT, a city that finally gets the approval it needs to receive an NHL franchise; and Houston, TX, a surprising market that quickly develops a strong hockey fanbase and instant rivalry with Dallas and Nashville. The divisions will undergo a unique reconfiguration in the Eastern Conference.

Minor League Hockey
Structure
The minor league hockey system undergoes an unique reconfiguration to accommodate player development, geography, and rivalries. The system emulates Minor League Baseball, with the AHL as a "AAA" league, ECHL "AA," SPHL "A," and the newly-formed Premier Hockey League (formerly known as the Federal Hockey League) as a "Rookie" league. The AHL and ECHL both have 32 teams and are affiliated with an NHL club. The SPHL and PHL both have 16 teams and have no NHL/AHL/ECHL affiliation. The SPHL and PHL will be composed of players who have no more than 3-years of combined domestic and international professional hockey experience; players from both leagues cannot change leagues until season's end (excluding those who were sent down on rehab assignments from the higher leagues). Some teams undergo rebranding.

Kontinental Hockey League
Teams
After a transitional period that saw the league undergo contraction beginning in 2017, the KHL quickly adds teams and expands to 32 members. These teams are situated in strong media and fan markets. The leagues are separated into two conferences, no divisions, and play a 64-game schedule: 4 vs. each conference opponent and 1 vs. 4 different teams in opposing conference (alternates every year). This is done to effectively combat travel concerns, as the league spans across a 10-hour plane ride from east to west. The change in foreign restrictions, where the only rule is that each team must have no less than 5 players on their rosters from county of origin, allows for the acquisition of players from a stronger talent pool, especially for countries that are not yet of noticeable hockey ranking. The league, however, does not have its own official minor league or junior league.
Important notes:
- Sweden lifts its restrictions on hockey clubs joining other leagues. AIK Stockholm and Malmo, rumored to have been in the mix to join league in the past, are only two to leave for KHL.
- Zagreb rejoins league after the EBEL's Vienna Capitals express interest of joining the KHL.
- DEL's Berlin and Cologne franchises, who have been approached in the past to join league, decide to defect to the KHL.
- League takes an Interesting gamble on Barcelona, London, and Paris. Each club experiences its own levels of success.
- Oslo, Zurich, Prague, Bern, Geneva, and Davos franchises join on their own accords.

Due to travel complications made prevalent with newly-formed KHL, the far-east teams in Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, and Beijing break off to form a new premier Asian league based in China, Eastern Russia, South Korea, and Japan. Teams play a 66-game schedule, 6 games vs. each team. The league also absorbs the Asian League Ice Hockey and converts it into a junior league to more effectively promote the game of hockey across the Far East. The league requires that teams must have no less than 6 players on their rosters from county of origin.

It is important to note that some teams are currently situated in Russian-based KHL markets. The ICHL also sponsors its own junior league.

The French, UK, and Irish ice hockey associations combine forces to form the Royal Hockey League and the Royal Junior Hockey League. In the beginning, each team only plays clubs in its respective conference, as inter-conference play does not happen until the playoffs; however, teams can trade players between conferences. It is important to note that in order to effectively promote the sport in each of their respective countries, the league requires a minimum of 10 players on their roster from country of origin.

With news of Bern, Zurich, Geneva, and Davos leaving the to join the KHL, the National League circuit decides to eliminate their system of promotion and relegation and form one league, the Swiss National League. The league also extends an invitation to teams in Western Italy to join league, as the cities of Turin and Milan are approved for league entry. The league requires each roster to contain no less than 8 players from country of origin. Teams play a 58-game schedule: 3 games vs. each team, and one extra game against a rival club.

Nordic Hockey League
Teams
In a surprising move, the Swedish hockey governing bodies remove the promotion and relegation system from the Swedish Hockey League et al. and decide to form one league. After a conference with Norway and Finland, in another unique development, the countries decide to form an alliance and create one professional and junior hockey circuit. Unlike the KHL, the Nordic League has each team play one another twice for a 62-game schedule and requires a minimum of 8 players from county of origin. The junior league, however, is structured where teams only play opposing clubs in their country of origin and rosters must be made up of players from said country.

Deutschland Eishockey League
Teams
With Berlin and Cologne gone, and lack of success of promotion and relegation system between DEL and DEL2, the German hockey governing bodies decide to form one new league. The league also reaches out to the hockey governments in Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg in regards to emulating the approaches of the other leagues, which these countries gladly accept. Ownership groups in Amsterdam, Antwerp, Brussels, and Copenhagen express interest to add expansion teams in these locations and bring the sport to larger venues. Some old DEL hockey markets rejoin the league: Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Hannover. Teams play a 62-game schedule and must have a minimum of 8 players from county of origin on each roster. The league also forms a junior hockey circuit made up of clubs from the now-former DEL2, Oberliga, Luxembourg tournament, Metal Ligaen, Eredivise, Eerste Divise, and Belgian Hockey League.

National Women's Hockey League
Teams
After the NWHL and Canadian Women's Hockey League combine forces to form one league under the NWHL name, the league undergoes rapid expansion in Ontario, Quebec, and Northeast and Midwestern United States. The league's successful expansion into Canada was made possible with the dissolution of the Quebec-based LNAH men's league, in which NWHL teams placed franchises in these areas following dissolution. Women's hockey is on the rise as the league has shown enough interest to move teams to larger venues in the future. The league also created the National Women's Junior Hockey League, which has immensely expanded across the North American Continent. Teams, however, only play against their division.

Not sure if this has been asked before so here goes. Would it be possible to add a feature so that when we are signing players in the Armchair GM teams we can give them a NTC or M-NTC clause to the deal we are signing them to?
It would also be helpful to the more casual Armchair player to know when a young players UFA status would begin. Likely again not realistic but would add to the thrill of creating a team.
I gotta say it would also be nice if we knew the lists each player had for their "no move" but even in the real world we don't know such things.

We should be able to trade for a player's UFA or RFA rights in armchair GMs, instead of writing that we have them in the additional details section. It would make it a lot easier to see and write what the trades are

Could you have some way to 'flag' or 'like' a AGM team? That way if there was a team that really sticks out to a person they can easily find it again later.
...oh and I still would like ALL the trades involving players from a team (like Toronto) listed when that team is picked in the drop down list and not just that team's roster. That would really help some of us to see how other fans rate our teams players.

Multi year Arm-Chair GM's
So you'd have a view of your 2018-19 lineup and your projected 2019-2020 team on the same page.

As a suggestion, it would be nice to make a team in AGM, then be able to advance to the next season, keeping all your signings and trades. Not having to re-do signings and trades when you want to do multiple years for one team would be really nice.
