Dermot I think is going to push Ceci down the lineup and that alone is going to make Ceci look better and help the team without anyone being moved in a bad trade.</div></div>
If you move Ceci there is no reason to move Kapanen. And moving Dermott to the right side we would need to bring up a LD and its best to leave sandin down until next year. Grav had some good games and you should never expect the 3rd pairing to produce its more just keeping the puck out of the net. He will also play the body which leafs need. The goal is to free up about 3M from their roster to have spares through the season.
I think its more beneficial to move Ceci now then later in the year

That's what I thought to but read they placed them on waivers so wasn't sure when they were brought back up. Id like to see Dermott play along side Rielly. Trade Ceci to like winterpeg for like a 6th even keeping a small amount of salary. and bringing back up a bigger D man like Gravel again. then atleast they can have some spares on the roster

if they are only trading a pick for a return. both teams would be better off picking them both off waivers and keeping their 6th round pick

New Lines
As of right now, Helm DLR and abby have not been on for a lot of goals against. Once abby is healthy I would like to see them back on a line. Helm is producing just fine as a fourth liner and with not being scored on they have looked good together. How you have the first and second line would be nice to see how it works out. Even give Perlini a chance beside Larkin for a couple games to grow some confidence.
AA and Mantha should have chemistry as they are good friends and playing with Hirose will help both get more changes. Hirose need to get back playing with confidence, right now it seems like he is forcing to many plays. Bert and Larkin create a good offense already where perlini may help.
Bert-Larkin-Perlini
Hirose-AA-Mantha
Fil-Neilsen-Erne (when glenny is back he can sub in between Erne or Perlini depending on production
Smith-DLR-Helm (when healthy go with Abby instead of smith)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>butterbean91</b></div><div>I agree. Green has been hot garbage. I switched to a 2nd, on a prayer. Athanasiou tries to do it himself way too much. He needs a centre that can make plays badly, Flip and Neilsen don't cut it. And I think if he wants more than $6,000,000 he should be traded. I trust Yzermans plan, but lets move some pieces out and let the kids play</div></div>
I agree AA needs another C beside him. Id like to see Veleno or Rass beside him with either Hirose or Svech. But both need to get stronger on their feet. Ive been surprised with Svech so far.

I'm not sure how your expecting to get a first from mike green. I'd say he is the worst D man on the team. He make so many mistakes that lead to goals. I think they way he is playing now we would be lucky to see a third.
Helm, DLR and Abby have actually been the better line consistently. They are the only players who have been on the ice and not scored on. People don't like these players but they seem to keep the puck out of the net. They have been a hard working gritty line and we should be keeping them playing together.
Once AA puts the puck in the net they will be doing a lot better. he had about 4 perfect chances last night that he should have scored on. every game he has at least 2 chances where if those go in. its a whole different game

Well either way i'm glad he wont play with the wings. Money doesn't really matter to this wings this year, with only one year left on his contract. just opens a roster spot for them

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Goulet</b></div><div>Kapanen is worth more in a trade which is exactly why they'll keep him. The goal is cap space not a weaker team.</div></div>
But Kap has not looked good on the second line with Tavares and Marner. So Kap will stay on the third line probably wont get much better sitting on a third line. Moore has proved he can take his spot and Julien has a lot of up side. I really don't think trade Kap for a second (possible first ) and Julien is making the team weaker. If Hyman comes back and Tavares is ready to go and they produce. Absolutely that would be the best trade.

bring back rass
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>The second line should have Glendening or Filppula at center. They are both very responsible defensively which gives AA and Hirose more room to take chances offensively. While Filppula is better offensively than Glendening, Glendening is much faster than Filppula.
With Rasmussen he had a really rough season because he couldn't play in the AHL because he had CHL eligibility left. So him being in the AHL is as much for his confidence as it is for him to get used to the speed of the pro game. Maybe after 20 games or so.</div></div>
They way the second line is set up is to basically have Glendening play low in the defensive zone but AA take draws. That line hasn’t done anything yet. And I agree switch DLR for Erne would be good but the way the fourth line is clicking I wouldn’t change it yet.
But yes maybe after a few more games if rass keeps it up they bring him up but we will see. They just need to find ways to score.

I would say Kaski will get in the line up either today or Thursday after a practice. I like who that brought up at this time of the year. they really need to se what Svech is made of again before the end of year. I also think if Kuffner shoots more and gets on the second PP he will get some scoring going. Lines are as I'd expect

I agree, I much prefer AA, I think he will have a great year this year. Just wanted to hear peoples thoughts as this is an offer Wings put towards Connor's before he signed. The idea I think was just to get Larkin and Connors back together.

DRW Opening Night
Agree I think hirose will still play well they will test in on both 2nd and 3rd line. but even preseason hes looked really good. he is very patient with the puck. I think Mantha and AA will have great years since everyone usually does in their contract year. I think Wings can surprise a couple people this year if they find ways to win those one goal games they have struggled with last couple years

I can see DLR being sent down to GR or they try and trade him at start of season. Ehn being the extra. Id like to see rass play with 3rd line as he will be the best to help with the PP and let Zadina and Veleno play in GR together with Svech. get chemistry together for next year. but since they want rass to play down the middle, he will probably start in GR. My guess is Zadina is making the roster to start the year, we may see Hirose and Zadina split the 2 line with Fil and AA, until the see chemistry and who works best together

Dermott will stick around playing for him home team. Will not want to move and is also a good player. Also Detroit will not go for hyman not even for a 7th round pick. they have no need for him. better off trying to send to Edmonton. or a playoff team.

I don't think Hyman is worth a 2nd you could do a 3rd and 5th but Toronto can afford to get a player back unless its towards the AHL. Getting a guy like Raphael Lavoie would be a good add but don't think Edmonton will trade him yet. maybe 4th and Lavoie but not likely.

how the team will go this year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>When Cholowski was sent down last year it was because of his defensive play wasn't up to par. At some point this season he will come up to stay after 52 games he has a good idea of what he needs to do to be a full time NHL defenseman and with the amount of defenseman the Wings have right now there isn't a need to rush him along. I think Svech starts the season in Detroit it's been a rough couple of years for him. I think they made a mistake by not bringing him up for more games a couple of years ago and then he blew out his knee last season. He never let it bring him down or complained about it he just said he needed to work harder and thats what he did with a smile on his face. That's why I really think the Wings are going to give him every opportunity to succeed. Even if he doesn't play up to the player he was when drafted you have to love his attitude and work ethic.</div></div>
For svech's development he is better playing on the top line in GR then playing 5-10 mins a game in the NHL he still need time especially after the injury. yea he has a great work ethic but that doesn't mean they should have him play in the N for that. being wavier exempt, they can easily call him up and down as they wish. Again I could see him coming up near the end of the year or if an injury occurs. but he wont start in the NHL he can play along side Veleno and really get his game developed.
