<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>squashmaple</b></div><div>Peeke doesn’t fit in Columbus because he’s a meat and potatoes third-pairing RD on a team with a top prospect (Jiricek), a better more offensive version of him (Severson), and a solid veteran who wears a letter and is <em>extremely</em> important to the room (Gudbranson). When Severson went down with injury, Boqvist stepped in because the role was not appropriate for Peeke (first pairing minutes and PP time). When Boqvist went down, Blankenburg was brought up from Cleveland for the same role. Peeke has been rotated in while Gudbranson has the flu. A team simply doesn’t need both Gudbranson and Peeke, and Peeke doesn’t bring the intangibles and leadership Gudbranson does. There is a team that needs Peeke. It might just be the Leafs. He just happens to be redundant in Columbus, and that has nothing to do with how good or bad the team as a whole is. But I wouldn’t expect armchair GM leafs fans who don’t pay attention to anything to know that.</div></div>
This is about as weak an argument someone can make. Justifying why Peeke being the apparent 6th RD on Jackets depth chart is somehow not a negative indictment on his ability is just sad.

They have a few similar numbers. But you can't ignore everything else that differentiates the two when all of that proves Peeke is far inferior. Also Peeke can't make the Jackets lineup and they once again aren't great at defending. If he was good, he'd be playing. He isn't and a 2+ million dollar health scratch is worthless.

Now explain to me how peeke is bad and not worth a late pick & Tanev is worth a first
Also peeke has almost 200 hits while Tanev has close to 60.</div></div>
This is a ridiculous take. Tanev didn't get caved in literally every night. Hits and take aways and give aways are meaningless when Peeke was on the ice for a crazy amount more chances against and goals. In less minutes. Before you say Columbus was a worse team. It's entirely because they relied on a worse player

Just like Benoit eh? If Peeke made league min, then he's worth seeing what's there but at 2+, he's a worthless player. He can't make a worse team and when he did play he was destroyed every night. In his 4 games this season he was once again caved in. Peeke sucks

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yikes</b></div><div>Literally everyone on this site traded Zadorov for over a first, not the insiders…. and Elliotte said live that Zadorov trade was great for Calgary but they could have got more with retention but they specifically took the VAN deal as they didn’t care about retention.
It was not the insiders trading Zad for a 1st++, don’t get it twisted.
Zadorov is a rental and got technically near a 2nd in value with no retention. So if you can outline, and not make boneheaded argumentative comments, then a discussion can happen - on why the Sharks should accept/ receive a 2nd then fire away. But I don’t see any valid argument as to why the Sharks should accept a Zadorov - type value.
Here a fact for you - a mid third and a mid fifth are valued as what you would use to trade up into the 2nd round. So just tell me why the Sharks would accept a 2nd for Ferraro if that’s what you see as his worth when he’s got term, cheaper aav, plays bigger minutes</div></div>
Playing bigger minutes on the worst team in the league isn't a selling point. He gets wrecked on a nightly basis because he isn't capable of playing those heavy minutes. He's a 3rd pair defenceman on a good team.

Niemela is hardly a throw in. Go look at the list of players to be named top defenceman at the world Juniors and tell me he's not going to be a good NHLer.

Insiders these days just speculate and blow stuff out of proportion. Zadorov went for a 3rd and a 5th. Maybe defenceman aren't worth what you think

EF wrote he’d return a lot - I’m not making it up he stated, wrote and said CAR has made offers. Other writers extrapolated it’s around a 1st + give or take. I’m not here to argue just here to inform.
And if you’re SJS outline why they would move Ferraro for anything less or at a 2nd in value (just saying if the highest offer was a single 2nd).
Minus -19 means nothing.
Ferraro plays the most on a poor team, he’s going to get the hardest comp. and he’s on the first pair and he’s not a first pair defender.
It would literally be like me saying Robertson is a bum/ bottom 6 player because he played on the Leafs 3rd line and not their first. There’s underlying things that invoke conversation.</div></div>
Not exactly a good argument to warrant a 1st

What Would Gudas Cost - What does Brad move for Ferraro
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yikes</b></div><div>I think he waives for TOR.
Gudas loves playoff hockey - and the Leafs have a real shot with him. Thoughts on the value?
Gudas gets physical and bigger - and he can actually play some great hockey and snap the puck a little. Ferraro can move the puck well (not great/ amazing) and skates well. Blocks shots and eats minute and never quits. If it was just Ferraro then I get yah but Ferraro-Gudas? Kinda nasty imo. Thoughts on the value too?</div></div>
The value is brutal for TO.

And I have been clear in stating that I would want the Leafs to trade Nylander at the deadline if they have no extension in place with him.</div></div>

Borgen is interesting but he's another 3rd pair defender and one who isn't very good at moving the puck which is a huge problem for TO's defence. Rielly is the only guy who is capable of that, apart from Timmins who's been pretty good since he returned from injury.

While I have said that Robertson's value to the leafs may be best served in a trade, he's been really good for TO this season. Should be playing more.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yikes</b></div><div>NRob has been made of glass - what’s it been, no more than 30 games in a season, in the last 3 years? I’m just guessing.
He can be included but it’s already been reported by insiders across the league. Ferraros return will be huge/ expensive. I may be quite high using Topis name in a Ferraro trade, but this offer is missing a first atleast.
NRob has value - but if Sharks fans overvalue Ferraro, NRob is even more overvalued by fans here.
Respectfully - it’s considered the Leafs have always had their prospects overrated. Not a knock on the players or fans, but this deal is incredibly lowball.</div></div>
Why on earth would Ferraro be worth a lot? Because he plays too many minutes on a lottery team? Being the best on the worst team doesn't make you good. The reason teams are bad is because they don't have good players. I'd rather keep Robertson than throw him away for another 3rd pair defenceman
