Whats the price on Rakell

You could probably grab another pick along with one of those guys.</div></div>
That's what I thought. Skinner is more probably more interesting that Robertson because he's a RHD while Robertson is left-handed.

Smith with his 10 ten trade list can kill any deal to a poor team with cap. Rangers fans seem to have this fascination that NMC Staal and M NTC Smith are gladly going being traded in their last NHL. season to. the Sens.

Question about Draft Order After Qualifying Round
I’m pretty sure the teams who miss the playoffs via their play in series will all be top 15. They are ordered after the lottery by regular season points percentage.

The 8 teams that lose the play in round will pick 1st (who ever wins the lottery) then 9th to 15th based off their point percentage. For example if Arizona wins the play in then at best they can pick would be 16th. Although that pick will be Jersey's

i dont get what florida is trying to do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rja</b></div><div>I have to respectfully disagree. I think Haula is a third liner, and a good one at that (maybe a second liner on a team with little depth at best), but they have no intentions of keeping him long term. The prospects are okay, but neither look like they'll be impact players. Wallmark to me is more of a 4th liner, at best a 3C. However, given what OTT received for Pageau as a rental, the Panthers got a terrible return for Trochek, who still has 2 more years left at a cost controlled rate. Trading a cost controlled 2C with term and yielding two prospects with limited upside, and two third liners is just not a great return based on precedent, let alone what occurred today.</div></div>
Wallmark is the best long term asset here. He is a cheap option for Florida as a 3C. Haula is a stopgap and mostly a cap dump in reality. Considering no picks were sent and it's just a random collaboration of random bottom six potential assets, its a pretty big L.
If Wallmark returns on the cheap and gets 40 points next year, it lessens the blow - but this is a hard one to digest. Maybe this is FLA saying they have more faith in Hoffman and Dadanov?

Kreider
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rja</b></div><div>I mean, likely yes, but you never know until it's over.</div></div>
The issue is the Blues have to be cap compliant like Army explained. If they made a deal for Kreider, even with 50% retained, and Tarasenko returns before the playoffs, they have to be compliant on that day. The only way the Blues get Kreider or anyone substantial is a hockey trade, players with cap going out, players with cap coming in.

It's just my guess if STL is the team they deal with, and if Tarasenko returns before the end of the season, where a cap situation may occur. Maybe another prospect could be added instead of the conditional pick, who knows. But I do not think NYR will get one of STL's top prospects along with the first rounder regardless. Just do not see that happening.</div></div>

Value is on point (middle 6 vs top 4) but MTL doesnt need a LHD anymore. Playoff dream is dead and Romanov will be top 4 next year. Add Chariot and Mete clear improvement this year and there's no need to sacrifice Lekhonen anymore. Bad timing.</div></div>
While I don’t necessarily disagree with you. Habs CANNOT expect Romanov to show up and everything on LD is solved.

IF they value Lehkonen as much as the Habs do, the rest of the NHL is going to **** and moan about what a massive overpayment. I wouldn't trade Lehkonen for Sjkei. And I definitely wouldn't add from Montreal's side. He is young and will always have a lower cap hit because his play style is underappreciated. We can't afford to keep all of Tatar, Domi, Danault, Gallagher. Those are the players that should be considered for trade.

Sensible post. However, I can't see the Rangers giving up two thirds. Instead, they may just work out a performance clause that could net a draft pick based on the numbers Kovy might put up. Kinda like Calgary/Ed did with Neal/Looch.

Demoting Smith and Belesky
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rja</b></div><div>Yes, that's pretty much my entire point. Assuming Lemieux takes a QO and Deangelo is bridged, they will still be slightly over the cap. I only suggested fast because his 1.85 coming off would allow the rangers to be cap compliant, and due to the fact that namestnikov and strome are more of a cap burden, it could be an option other teams are open to. But I agree that Kreider should be traded, for more than just a current cap hit reason.</div></div>
I wouldn’t be opposed to trading Fast but I just can’t see Gorton and Quinn doing it unless the return was something we just couldn’t pass up. He is such an underrated player especially since he can fill in on top 6 if needed but kills penalties and is great role model for kids. If we aren’t in playoff hunt he will be a highly sought after commodity at the deadline.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rja</b></div><div><a href="/users/moli92" target="_blank">@moli92</a> are you up in arms about what I proposed?</div></div>
I dont think its terrible. By the trade deadline if we have some injuries up front I think Bonino is definitely an option, but I dont think Sakic would give up Meloche + a 3rd rounder. I think Meloche is definitely expendable since we have multiple young RHDs in the system ahead of him plus EJ, but if we were to move him I think we could get a better impact player for that package.
I think Bonino would fetch a return similar to Colin Wilson a few years ago (I believe it was a 4th rounder). I would be willing to do a 3rd rounder for him since Bonino > Wilson (Bonino plays all situations and has more experience in playoffs), plus we could maybe add a lesser prospect if you retained some salary.

Maybe Perry would like to play with the one of the best players in the world to restart his career? I do not know; just an idea.</div></div>
I highly doubt Perry would agree to play in Edmonton though, McDavid or not. I'm sure he's eyeing an East Coast team so he can be closer to Ontario.

ing Refs That was a ing Handpass
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rja</b></div><div>Blame the league for not having the forethought to allow teams to challenge goals that were influenced by hand passes. It's hard to see a trickling puck like that from the vantage point the refs had. I get that they should have made the call, but human error will continue to be a part of the game. However, we allow review on goals for other violations, so why not this one?</div></div>
As much as we fans want to blame the refs for all sorts of things, teams are the ones who really win or lose a game. Yes, human error is always a factor and will be so long as humans officiate sports. Blaming the refs is easy, and can be argued at times is used as a cop-out. We can debate intent, advantage, etc. but the Blues lost the game with 80 seconds left. Multiple poor decisions were made by players and the coaches. If they handle the puck, we don't have all of the controversy. They didn't and we lost with controversy. Do better and there's no controversy. I agree with you that all goals should be reviewable (just as all touchdowns are reviewable in football; all home runs are reviewable in baseball). It is a simple rule change that likely happens. It's just unfortunate that it won't happen until after this game.

Possible Brendan Smith Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rja</b></div><div>I am saying if they do not want any of these guys, or that they sign elsewhere by mid-late July, they may want a veteran like Smith to play with a younger player like Guhle. They have two spots on the right side to fill. In addition, the Ducks are currently going through a transition, so they may not be looking to sign long-term contracts, and are comfortable taking on Smith. I do not think the price is going to cost the Rangers a high-mid round pick, considering the Rangers in turn could help the Ducks out too, by taking on one or two forward contracts that the Ducks would like to move (examples would be Rowney, Ritchie, or Eaves if he does not qualify for LTIR). So that might lower the value of the pick the Rangers would have to send. And the Rangers do not have to force sending this pick, so if the price is a second or a third, they do not have go through with it. Maybe the Wild or the Panthers would be interested if certain circumstance occur, but the team that people should be proposing to move Smith to is the Ducks, plain and simple. But again, these are big ifs. What defies logic is moving him to the teams that many have posted here.</div></div>
Lotta big if's here indeed, can't imagine half of them happen. I have to stop here because this has become a big waste of time, Smith isn't moving, maybe they buy him out but more likely he's the 8D/14F
