I agree, but I truly believe it's in team Canada's best interest even from a PR standpoint to have him on this team.

I would agree with most comments, is Ceci great? No, but you have to be objective about how good other teams players are. Grass isn't always greener on the other side.

I like these moves, I believe Sprong would be a great add for the squad and shows that they have the cap space for another $3 million middle six winger.
My bet is Brown will come back on a cheap contract and the Oilers can hope they get more value out of him next year.
Also in theory Holloway would hopefully be ready for a bigger bump than the fourth line and Lavoie could hopefully stick as full time nhler.
Like the idea of Broberg swap for another formerly highly touted prospect. But Vinny has been really good this year and would expect him to start in the lineup next year

more just a placeholder as you often see minor prospects used in deals like this. Was thinking of the Bjukstad trade to the Oilers last year had Michael Kesselring included. Who yes is better than Chiasson, but was just used as a random prospect placeholder.

Lots of Smoke
You are contradicting yourself in the same trade. How would the Oiler's need to give an additional first to upgrade Campbell to Elvis and then it only costs a 4th for Columbus to dump him to San Jose.
The reason Elvis and Campbell swaps have been in conversation is because it would be one option for the Oiler's where they don't have to give up a boat load of assets to get out of the contract.
Yes Elvis has more value than Campbell, but he also likely has negative value based on his cap hit and term remaining

Team Canada
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Echlz</b></div><div>These wouldn't be the goalies... Hill would 100% be in over Thompson, he is Vegas clear starter and is leading the league in GAA and save %. Yes Jarry would be there, and probably Binnginton as a third. I don't understand why people say the goaltending is weak in Canada when the past two cup winners had Canadian goalies as starters, there is 5 Canadian goalies in the top 10 right now in GAA and Save %. As well as having a solid starter in Hill who dominated playoffs last year and so far, again this season. Sample size may not be a big as others but to have a playoff run like that and follow it up with this season is long enough and incredible.
No problems with the D and F besides missing Reinhart who would be a bubble guy to make it.</div></div>
The issue with team Canada's goalies aren't the quantity of NHL goalies. It's the star power.
When they line up for the gold medal game, even if you say it's Hill being the starter.
that would be Hill going against either Helleycbuyck, Vasilevsky/Shestirkin, Saros, Ullmark/Markstrom
Hill or any of Canada's goalies aren't close to that level.

Using the Neal-Lucic trade model
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Unless the Oilers are trading for a goalie who has the same term and a similar cap hit to Campbell, the Oilers add significant assets to move him. Hawks probably don't consider taking him without the equivalent of two 1st round picks attached</div></div>
Your slightly over valuing a cap dump trade here. Yes I believe it would take a first round pick potentially plus to dump Campbell. But when the Kings dumped Peterson, they gave up a second round pick and Helg Grans who was a second round pick plus Sean Walker who was a healthy scratch in the playoffs.
The leafs only had to move back about 13 spots in the draft in order to dump Mrazek's $3.8 million.
Yes cap dumps cost you, but two first round picks isn't a reasonable price based on actual cap dumps in the past.

Merzlikins had a worse GAA and save percentage than Campbell last year. As I said it would take a bit of desparation from Columbus to make the trade but I don't think it's "not even close"

was more implying that Chicago might want a draft pick more than a prospect from Edmonton. And yes it does require a lot to dump campbell but Mrazek isn't a prime asset himself

What Summer Moves Shouldve Taken Place
Although Pesce would be a great addition to the team and Carolina might not have money to resign him this year. Just think about it from their perspective. They are trying to win a cup too.
This would be like Carolina offering Scott Morrow and a third rounder for Kulak. Might be close to a fair trade, but for a team trying to win the Stanley cup, doesn't make a ton of sense

Little biased but I love this team. I think Pionk has a bit of a bounce back year, if Perfetti can solidify as an nhl top 6 forward that really solidifies the top six. Hellebuyck will hopefully have a great year and this could be a playoff team

1 for 1 imo
Honestly I think I agree with almost all of these. very well done.
Only one IMO that I disagree with is Luke Hughes for Owen Power. But being so young its hard to know what L Hughes will even be this next year as a full time NHL guy and there's not many impact defenseman that young other than Power so it's a hard one to find comparisons on.
Love the Meier - Svech, Eberle - Toff, and nemec - clarke comparables

If the Sens players hit on their development
while i'll agree I think you are saying if they absolutely hit on their development. But you've also just compared three players to arguably the best winger in the league, a undeniable top 5 centre in the league, and one of the top 3-5 defensive defenseman in the league.
While brady timmy and sanderson could get there, it's not very easy to be a top 5 player in your league. And there is also a big step from being a 60 point player like batherson up to a 70 point player like Bratt.
Bratt was 47th in points for forwards last year and batherson was 79th. Theres still a big difference there

That number just doesn't make sense tho. Byram and Miller are just as good if not better than Bouchard. Even Noah Dobson who was drafted right behind Bouch got 3 years 4 mil. I would say that would be the maximum bouch could ask for
