Fantasy Question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Code_qStroon</b></div><div>Agree with you</div></div>
I ended up going with Matheson despite the fact that no one recommended him and won the league. He was by far the best choice, getting more points than the other two combined. Alls well that ends well.

Fantasy Help Needed
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stammer_Time91</b></div><div>I guess depends on what you're after. I like my defenseman to be consistent. Big nights are a bonus, but I'm looking for them to get at least a point a game. As long as I know they will show up on the score sheet through blocks and hits or points, it works for my lineup. Blocked shots are .5 a piece for me, so If that applies to your situation, and these guys are available, Id go with TVR or Savard.</div></div>
I see your point but it's hard for me to justify getting someone who on average gets two less points each game just because he has slightly less games where he posts zero or negative points. I feel like on your point Matheson has been comparatively more consistent in relation to the other two players I mentioned, but it's hard to discern because they are both on new teams and have been consistently finding success there since they arrived.

Other than those three guys there's Ghost, Deangelo, Fowler, Power, Pionk, and Gustaffson who are alright but I don't think any of them are nearly as good as the three guys I highlighted, who I think are all pretty solid options.

Fantasy Question
Going into the playoffs I'm in first in my league but my defense is definitely looking weak compared to my main rivals. I'm going to drop Ekblad who's been awful for me this season and maaaybe Toews. Do I pick up Orlov (for obvious reasons), Sandin (I'm worried his production won't keep up especially when Carlson comes back), or Matheson (who has been sneakily good all year and who I feel is actually the safest option of the three).
Never posted a thread here, excited to hear peoples thoughts.

Definitely do not want to trade Dach, even if it's part of a Dubois deal if that's the price then let's just push for him in free agency. Also, we should not be touching Huberdeau with a ten foot poll given his cap hit, age, statline, and our cup window.

Carter Hart et PLD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Birtle34</b></div><div>Why would Philly part with hart?</div></div>
If Philly is entering a long rebuild, as has recently been suggested by Brière they probably want to sell high on Hart as he's unlikely to re-sign for his prime and he doesn't fit the window.

last I heard for Chych they wanted 2 1sts of value (no idea if accurate), so i tried to value about-ish to that with the 50% retain bump.</div></div>
Well it turns out that your idea was way closer in value to what actually ended up happening (although considering retention they definitely still take ottawa's deal over this one)

It is probably quite far off. Arizona is unlikely to retain on the contract; one of the upsides of Chychrun is his reasonable contract. They're also looking for two first and a prospect apparently, so you'd have to add an additional first and add a real blue chip prospect, both these prospects are too old and not good enough for what Arizona wants.

Timo Meier Price
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>The money saved can be used to absorb a cap dump in another trade while accumulating assets so the retention is certainly worth something</div></div>
I was thinking about that but even if they have to retain half of the salary in another deal, that would still leave them 5 million for a cap dump and it is unlikely there will be a move this TDL for a cap dump worth more than 5 especially because those moves are pretty rare at the deadline unless we're talking about retaining in a three team deal in which case they have more than enough to do that with 5 (especially if they make another move like Barabanov which would clear slightly more space). My main point is that the Sharks are incredibly unlikely to reject a better deal just because your deal gives them slightly more cap to make some hypothetical cap dump move that is unlikely to happen. It doesn't move the needle in a trade given their cap situation and so really for practical purposes its a non-factor.

You are not getting Meier for that package, much less Barabanov (who's having a great season) and Meier (who is the biggest fish this TDL and is probably worth something like a first or second + a prospect + a roster player).

Timo Meier Price
You might be looking at sharangovich + holtz + a first/second similar in structure to the Pacioretty trade all those years ago. The retention aspect is in my opinion a non-factor because the Sharks have enough cap space and its an expiring contract so don't expect that to be a real advantage in trade talks.

There is literally no chance the habs trade Cole and definitely not for a couple of late firsts, especially while Nick is in the middle of knitting him a pair of new socks.

Cup Contenders lol nah but what if
Just be patient. Buffalo has a great pool and the team will be better off in a few years if they peak at the right time and don't trade away futures. Maybe make a smaller move or targeting Demko could be smart, but the team needs to exercise patience rather than be over excited and try to hop on every trade rumour.

The Habs shouldn't touch Cal's contract with a five foot pole, especially when Allen is a great leader for the team and a solid goalie.Turcotte is obviously tempting but he doesn't look amazing at the AHL level, even though he was a high pick.

Sorry didn't see that. I've heard the asking is quite high something like two first round picks and a prospect. The problem is that the pens don't have a single prospect who I think pushes the needle in any trade so it's possible the pens just simply don't have the right assets to make a trade like this go through unless they do some crazy three way trade where they give up an established player to a third team and get a good prospect back in return.

How would yall feel about this team
Personally I'd be very happy if PLD is able to come home, but I don't think I'd give him more than 8.5 and hopefully he'd be willing to take a slight hometown discount but that might be wishful thinking.
