Just a little splashy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BatVader</b></div><div>Jets have every reason to keep him
He’s a great leader and mentor for our youth, plus he’s absolutely loved by the Organization, the Team, and the Fans… Statsny is the type of guy you sign to low cap, 1yr contracts until he retires, regardless of his on ice production.</div></div>
They will take the first 5th round pick or mid level prospect offered to them. If they like him so much, they can just sign him again this summer.

Statsny will cost a 2nd + Beaucage… minimum</div></div>
Stastny is not getting a second round pick. Thats just a gross overvaluation. He is not going to get much because teams know the Jets have no reason to keep him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BatVader</b></div><div>Why does everyone think WPG needs a C or LHW or LHD in return for trades?
RHW and RHD are our needs… not more centers who will have to compete with the other thousand centers we have… and if you must offer a C… make it a RHC., so we can play him on the RW if he doesn’t cut it as a C.
WPG has like 5 right handers in our system… we don’t need any more lefty’s
Also, not enough for Statsny.
JETS DECLINE</div></div>
He's an old center that isn't really productive and is on an expiring contract. The Jets have no incentive to keep him at the deadline. I guess swap Bowers for an equal D prospect

They could maybe swing this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wholly_diver</b></div><div>I like this, but I think that is too much for Timmins and Jost, and not quite enough for Grubi or Landy. I think Grubi is probably at least 500,000 more on the AAV, and I think any long term deal for Landy would need to clear 42 million total. But I hope something like this happens! Although, I doubt Jumbo Joe would leave Toronto</div></div>
Yea I think you're right with respect to Jost and Timmins, although if i over value them, I think its somewhere a million over, combined. I think Landy would take that deal with the avs, but he certainly could get more on the open market.

no way does Landy sign for that low. If he does, it'll be with the avs. If he hits the open market, hes getting close to 8.

Speaking in general terms, I don't know why the avs would want petry given their defense already. Any trade for tatar, or even any similar-caliber player, I would only feel confortable giving up Jost, Kaut, and/or Bowers plus picks, separately or as a package.

That's a hot take. I'm sure in the history of the NHL there has never been a Finn and a Swede on the same team. Keep up the good work.
