One hit from a guy like Trouba and Stank & Savoie get obliterated and put on LTIR just like Pelletier. Johnny Gaudreau was lucky and learned to avoid big hits. Pelletier is like a glass vase and I don’t want any more Matthew Phillips’s
I just don’t like scrawny guys, but that’s just me</div></div>
Based on Andersons contract I don't think he has more value than Cozens. Will Andersson be the better player next season, 100%, will he be more valuable in 3 seasons when he is a UFA and over 30, probably not. with Byram I think the Sabres are kind of set on D. they may add a more defensive minded RD, but I dont think they can afford to sign another top D like Anderson.

Yeah you obviously do that trade. There's no way buffalo is dropping 11oa and one of their top 3 prospects for that

Well, I disagree, it's much easier to find a 3C than a suitable top 6 forward or especially legit top 6 C. Considering all the teams and UFA, I saw a lot of interesting options. Of course, not all are ideal, but there is plenty to choose from.

They will also get a 3C, it is not necessarily that if they trade for a top 6 forward they will not get a 3C.</strong> There are a ton of options that will not cost #11. On defense I am not sure, there are no rumors about it anywhere. We have Dahlin, Power, Byram, Samuelsson, Jokiharju, Clifton and Johnson. I would replace Jokiharju with a more physical and reliable player like Roy or DeMelo, but that is easier said than done. I do not know Adams plans around our defense.</div></div>

yeah the trade was about farabee so i focused on that. But im not sure theyll actually go for a top six forward. Not when they've got bigger problems at C and replacing jokiharju on D.

What more do you think you can get with that pick? Ur not getting Zegras, you can get Necas but Necas is literally just Farabee if he played on Carolina and was a year older. Unless u packaging the 1st and Ostlund/Kulich for someone like TK then sure. But in a 1 for 1 swap pick for player Farabee is probably one of the best available options</div></div>
Yeah thats why I don't think theyll trade 11th overall. They shouldnt be targeting a winger anyways.

The implication being they havent tried for 13 years? It's not out of disinterest, it's incompetence. Farabee is fine, but he's not what they need in their top six.

Imagine If They Could Get 10 and 11
Adams had Wahlberg as a first round player, and Buffalo doesn’t need the retention. He’s also the only prospect in the forward ranks with some size and snarl to his game. Stick with a lower rated asset and drop the retention.

Well, there you go. Then it would need to be some kind of scheme whereby BUF acquires our 5th OA with the intention of flipping it for an established player to help them make the playoffs. Given MTLs current state of rebuild, such a move would not be advisable, unless there’s an outlier deemed so underrated that MTL is convinced he will be available @ 11th OA.

Launching Trouba I get. Bringing in a LW (the Rangers are RW poor) and reducing CAP space by $1M doesn't compute for me.
