Vegas Golden Knights signed Mark Stone (8 Years / $9,500,000 AAV)
This does not make signing Marner any easier
It was so smart for the Bruins to sign Pastrnak early before he had proven himself and before star salaries escalated as a percentage of the cap

Jake Muzzin

Hudon package for Martinez I'd be interested in doing!
From an LA perspective Lehkonen in a Muzzin deal definitely gets the conversation going imo. As a Habs fan I really don't want to move Lehkonen though. He is the Habs best defensive forward and would probably have 10 goals already this season with all the high-danger chances he's had, he just hasn't been able to bury them (shooting% 6.9...)

Jake Muzzin
I wouldn't mind getting Muzzin. Like you said however, he's their 2nd best Dman. I think it would cost more Hudon and two 2nd's (would still consider Olofsson a 2nd) to get him. I still personally feel that that's a lot of assets, but their not that substantial considering your trying to get a top pairing Dman.
LA would probably want a winger, but probably a more established young guy they know can play in the top 6 (Hudon isn't that). Wouldn't surprise me that Lehkonen would have to be in the deal for Muzzin. Don't know if I'd be willing to do that.

Early 2018-19 predictions?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>seb</b></div><div>Me too, but everyone except Brendan Gallagher, Antti Niemi and Jeff Petry has underperformed in Montreal and they usually rebound well after a poor season. The proof: they never had two consecutive playoff exits since 2001. And while the departure of Alex Galchenyuk hurts, they changed they entire coaching staff of the Laval Rocket and they have one of the best benches in the entire nhl with Ducharme and Richardson in the mix with Julien, Muller and Waite. Plus, Antti Niemi has rebounded in Montreal and is their best backup goalie they have had in a while. I like to go outside the norms for playoff predictions. Never go with what everyone says. Plus, they don't make the same mistakes as Detroit</div></div>
While anything can happen, this is quite the biased opinion that Montreal makes the playoffs. Weber is out until December, their best natural centers are Danault and Plekanec, they have no defensive depth, the team captain is expected to be traded any day now, the list goes on and on. The only way I see them getting there is if Drouin goes for over a point per game and Price plays better than he did his MVP season. That’s not likely by any stretch

If Toronto finished ahead of Philly here, that's Montreal vs. Toronto ... that would be awesome. The thing is, i doubt the Habs make the playoffs.

Montreal Canadiens signed Jacob De La Rose (2 Years / $900,000 AAV)
DLR is already a great shutdown center, he just has to get his offensive game together and he could be an awesome middle 6 C for almost any team. It's a shame that odds are that his game just doesn't have an offensive element to it....sigh

Blockbuster trade involving Maroon.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>seb</b></div><div>Well, not necessairly. Maroon has playoff experience, which Kane doesn't have, and he can play on any line. Plus, the conditionnal second round pick make the trade more even. I'm not so sure teams would pay such a high price for Evander Kane considering he never made the playoffs in his entire career.</div></div>
The asking price for kane is a 1st, a prospect and a conditional pick (based on resigning)
its not a conditional 2nd round pick, maroon and a crappy defenseman.
your point about not making the playoffs is nonsense.
