Chicago Blackhawks signed Chad Krys (3 Years / $925,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>BU will be fine next year. Hell they weren't even that good this year. They didn't make the Frozen Four so enough said.
I saw this kid play 2 games this year. I wasn't impressed. I don't think he's NHL material.</div></div>
What made you think that Krys isn't NHL material? Was it watching 'a game' that made you come to that conclusion?
I'm not saying he is or isn't but most of the beat writers think he's going to be a solid 3rd liner and maybe a 2nd liner. I tend to think he's a 3rd liner or 7th man. Either way, it's a good signing to get him locked in and get him the AHL to see what he has.

Absolute steal if he plays like he is now!

Part 2 - No major moves draft Cozens sign Dzingel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiChief</b></div><div>Love drafting Dylan Cozens. If we don’t get a top two pick I think he should definitely be the pick. Great attitude guy.
I think this is a great start, Dzingel seems to be a consensus target. With 12 million left in cap space I’d love to see us add some LHD help, maybe target Gardiner? Because my one issue is with Gustafsson. We’ve seen his offensive talent but I can’t stand to watch him in the defensive zone anymore and I’d prefer if he didn’t have a spot, or at the very least be a 3rd pair guy.
Also Schmaltz seems to be having an attitude problem. Maybe he’s just not trying because he knows this team isn’t anywhere close to a playoff spot so if we get a more talented roster he’ll try hard again?</div></div>
Schmaltz is playing for a contract so I'm not sure he's not trying. I think the issue is he either didn't train in the offseason and or he's dealing with an injury or both.

No need for another LHD because even without Gus we still have Kieth, Beaudan, and Krys. If you want to upgrade on gus your gonna have to trade him off the roster first to make room

You forgot Chad Krys and Matthew Highmore plus not signing Kampf is a mistake especially over Edjsell or Luke Johnson. Knott over Kahun?

Duchene and Dzingel make this team a playoff team. Hawks lost 2-1 to LA last night, the worst team in the league. Hawks need goals.</div></div>
Yes I have been watching, Hawks D has been atrocious other than the last 2 games. You need to look at a larger sample size. Both the 2nd and 3rd pair of D in this senario are awful just look at it. Manning and Rutta might be the worst pair in the NHL. Forsling has not played well enough to earn top 4 Minutes

Overhaul - Duchene Nylander Panarinlet the comments flow
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>So this season isn’t his most recent body of work...
Lol so you want to drop this season because he is struggling and his first season because it was nothing special??? I don’t have to drop anything from nylander because he is a consistent producer with a far better skill set and ceiling than schmaltz... so pick the mic back up before you trip over it.
I said schmaltz Murphy and a second and you implied that makes nylander the second coming of mcdavid....</div></div>
How do you compare Nylander this season? The best comparable is last season for both players. The entire Hawks team is struggling which is the difference versus Nylander playing a team that is one of the top 3 scoring teams in the league. A lot of people are saying Nylander benefited from it which is why his assist numbers are so high, and he's not the two way player schmaltz is. Schmaltz on TOR playing with those lines would put up Nylanders numbers, I'm certain of that.
I'm basically saying you think Nylander deserves a lot more then he's worth. Schmaltz, Murphy and a 2nd is overpaying. Schmaltz and a 2nd is questionable for Nylander as they are so close in value to one another given the variables.
Why I agree Nylander straight up for Schmaltz is not fair value for Nylander taking a leap of faith he isn't better because he plays on a better scoring line, but the value is still very close. You can disagree as most TOR fans would but I doubt the majority of people who understand hockey and aren't baised would disagree with me.

Go by the most recent body of work.....Last season;
Schmaltz - 78gp, 21g, 31a, 52p
Nylander - 82gp, 20g, 41a, 61p
Schmaltz playing on a bad Hawks team last year
Nylander playing next to Matthews on a good team
...dropping the mic
