Need for need

But most say Ostlund won't be a Center in the NHL, he's too small for that role.
Kulich might fit the bill better for the Sabres, I think he's one of your futur star centers.

Krebs could be delt for way less. A D prospect such as Mattias Norlinder and a 2nd round draft pick could fetch Krebs IMO.

Then swap Mailloux for Baron, Struble, Harris ou any other reliable D that isn’t Hutson, Guhle or Reinbacher

Your call. But in your situation, I’d take Xhejak over Zegras by a hundred miles if you want to succeed in the playoffs . Us, on the other hand, have a few physical D-man and no offensive talent.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>There's two lines in the top 6, therefore there's two spots at LW. We brought it one guy, Zegras is the other.
Mallioux has been completely invisible in MTL since he entered the system, not the immediate difference maker that was expected, to say nothing of his character flaws that caused him to drop to 31 in the first place.</div></div>
I understand that Zegras fills a gap in the lineup, but in terms of character, he doesn't appear to have the same level of determination as Gauthier, McTavish, and Carlsson. Mailloux has proven himself over the past few years, demonstrating he's ready to move on and play in the NHL. His current lack of visibility may be intentional on the part of the organization who wants him to concentrate on hockey and not attract to much attention.

Win-Win
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckLuck_77</b></div><div>The Kings cap space is a little deceptive right now because Arvidsson is on LTIR. He is expected back sometime in February or March (ie well before the playoffs), so LA can't afford to bring in nearly 4.5mil in cap.
All that being said, Jordan Harris and Jake Allen ain't it, and the Kings aren't going to give up on Turcotte when his health is finally allowing him to show why they drafted him 5th to begin with.</div></div>
But, honestly, what is Turcotte's spot in a stacked lineup like the Kings? Just curious to get your POV.
Plus, he'll be RFA at the end of the season, teams could be interested in making an offer that Kings won't be able to match.

Would never swap them, that would be an overpayment for a guy that's barely having an impact on his actual team, 3 years in.

Craving trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NJDevils1317</b></div><div>This is the first Anderson trade I've seen with a 1st coming BACK with Anderson....but even still, I can't see any way Devils have interest in the Anderson contract.
Some rando podcaster for the Habs blurts out the Devils are VERY interested, well I have bad news on that front for Habs fans.
The Devils are a high analytics team, Anderson analytics stink.
None of the Devils trades were actually forecasted. Anyone saying the Devils had interest in VV is just a shot in the dark knowing the Devils needed a goalie. Beyond that, no one saw the Siegenthaler or Marino trades coming. Not even the Ryan Graves deal had any leaks. So why would the Devils suddenly have openly leaked discussions on a bad analytic player with too large of a contract for his output??
If anyone wants to look at John Marino underperforming last year....well...look at the cost the Devils gave up for him. They bought low, and he's been stellar. Any purchase of an underperforming Anderson wouldn't also come with the cost of a highly valuable asset.</div></div>
Forgetting analytics for a second, Anderson is the kind of guy that scares players in playoffs with his speed and heavy hits.
He won't ever score 20+ goals, but the Devils badly needs a guy like him.
Hughes, Bratt, Hischier, Tatar are going to get beat up by top teams like Bruins, Tampa, Vegas, etc.

Let's just be clear: your window is NOW. Not in 3 years when Knies will be ready.
Tampa had to trade most of it's prospects/draft picks to get players that would ultimately help them win the cup.
This is no different.
Not saying Edmunson is the guy the Leafs need.
But you'll have to let go some pretty important chips to win the cup, and Knies might be one of them.

You can flip Mayfield for a late first like Hughes managed to do it for Chariot.

First off, there's no one immediately NHL-ready behind Mayfield on the RD depth chart, so it's going to take an overpay to convince them to create a hole in their lineup. Norlinder & a 2nd by itself would likely not be enough to make the move.
Secondly, the Isles already have Josh Bailey. They have no need for another over-30 winger with only a passing interest in defense. Asking them to eat that 2x$4.5M would easily cost a 1st rounder coming back to the Island - they don't really have the cap space to even take the deal on without moving something else out.</div></div>

Everyone's saying that Josh is garbage and that his contract is horrible, but honestly he's a pretty good leader in the locker room and create space for smaller guys.
He's not gonna score 25+ goals that's for sure, but he's useful in his own way. People are underestimates the impact Josh can have.
Not saying that dealing him for Pelletier is fair, but he's worth more than people think.
