Desperate for Cap
I'm not a fan of trading Brännström just so we can carry 3 extra guys. Get the Joseph deal done and sign Pinto. Keep as may guys in the AHL as you can.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheFastAndTheFleuryous</b></div><div>Would you rather have Bolduc or Kleven in the lineup?</div></div>
Kleven didn't do himself any favours in camp. Getting some time in the AHL will do him good. He'll get some NHL time regardless when injuries happen.

Lauzon scratched for Brannstrom
The Sens won't be taking any cap back in a Brännström trade. The only reason they trade him would be to clear space for Pinto.
Brännström for a pick (likely a 2nd) would work better.

How are you getting 24 days? Norris's daily cap hit is 41.4k. To get to 2.5M of cap relief that takes 60 days, or am I getting how it works wrong?

That's still a significant IF, and he'd have to be out at least 2 months to fit Pinto at an AAV of $2.5M and the Sens not be in cap hell when/if Norris was ready to come back.

Pinto for Swayman
My issue with this is the Norris's uncertain status. If he's hurt again/still, can we really run with Greig as the 2C? I don't think so and this year we don't have a Brassard type player as insurance. And while it's not a bad return, I worry about the message this would send to Korpisalo who was just signed long term to be the #1.

From the ottawa side
It's a fair deal, but having literally zero cap space is reckless. If there are more than 2 short term injuries at any given time and the Sens would be forced to play short-handed. Another trade would likely be needed to give the Sens some breathing room.

It would suck, for sure, but I don't know how Ottawa says no given how it helps the cap situation and keeps the top 4 strong and likely makes it a bit better defensively. Balancing out the top 4 with 2 RHD and 2 LHD doesn't hurt either.</div></div>

It's definitely a win for the Bruins. They get the much needed help at C and give up nothing off their roster.
I'm not advocating for the Sens to trade Pinto, but no one is taking Joseph off our hands and the only other trade options are Brännström and Kubalik for opening up the cap space needed to get Pinto signed, and I doubt they trade Kubalik as he's the only roster player they got back in the DeBrincat trade.

We better be hoping the cap goes up quite a bit the next season so we can sign Sanderson to a long contract.
As much as it sucks, the best solution may be trading Cat.

Yes, the Sens will be right up against the cap getting everyone signed next off-season. It also makes me wonder how they will make cap spaxe for Sanderson's 2nd contract the next off-season.

These are just ballpark. I have a feeling Pinto will be better than Norris. I set those salaries where they are as I think the Sens are boing to set Chabot's and Tkachuk's salaries as an internal cap for each position. Either way, it's going to be tough to keep all these guys together in the near future.

It's 2 former 1st round picks, a 1st and a 2nd in a deep draft, and two prospects that are expected to be players. As I said in the title I think it's still not enough, but it's the most I would be willing to see the Sens pay.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>I want Ottawa to push for Eichel, but at the same time, I just can't justify trading the 2022 1st. If they get 82 games of Jack Eichel they <em>might</em> squeeze out a playoff spot if they get goaltending. Realistically though, Eichel will miss a good chunk of the year and Ottawa is just not quite ready to seriously push for the playoffs without a player like him in this lineup. I'm just not sure I'm comfortable trading a 1st knowing it's very likely to be a Lottery pick and knowing just how good Shane Wright could be.</div></div>
I mean, we could top 10 protect the 1st or push it outright to 2023.
I think if this team is legitimately looking to make the playoffs next season and become a Staley Cup contender eventually, they need legit number one center. And we don't have anyone in the system with 1C potential (Norris stans will disagree, and some feel L. Brown could still be that eventually but that's unlikely). With Krejci going to Europe and SJ looking like they aren't ready to blow things up yet, I don't see another avenue to get a 1C.

That is a weak offer that gets out bid, it starts with 2021 1st, Batherson, + D prospect
But no Boeser isn't being moved</div></div>
My offer was the 2021 1st, a first from last season who scored 32pts in 21 games in the WHL last season and a high 2nd round pick.
That's solid value for Boeser. Is he actually being looked at by the Canucks for a trade? Who knows, who cares. His name is out there, again, and where there's smoke there's fire. I made a proposal, and it's fine if you don't like it.

Batherson is going to be really good and has chemistry with Norris and Tkachuk. C. Brown is an extremely important voice in that locker room. I would hate to lose either, but Brown and Brännström might work.

I wonder if they'd rather have someone that can compete now though. I would think so.</div></div>
I'm not sure who on the Sens roster would be of interest and available. Formenton, maybe, but you'd likely have to change the picks up.
