Draft floor trades

Yeah but if he signs him for one year he can just walk at UFA, imo you either sign him this summer long term (which I don't want, also if that were the case he can't demand 5 mill) or you move on. Its better than running into the stone situation except with a worse player, I'd much rather trade him this summer than get an even crappier return next year at the deadline.

Deadline
As a Sens fan I have to admit I think the returns are too handsome especially for Stone and Duchene, any return like that would warrant an extension. There's too many forwards available this year's deadline thus reducing the value of the ones we have available. Look what we got for EK and that was for a full year of his services with no other RHD being available rumoured for trade at that time besides Justin Faulk, the edmonton one is only acceptable because how bad Pool Party and Lucic have been but even then I don't see them moving a first unless an extensions included.

I think the point here is that CBJ makes a run this yr...they said that if the return for Panarin isn't great then they'd use his as a rental. I'd agree with your logic but its clear they want to make a run this year

Huberdeau - feedback
Pulijarvvi and the rest of the package isn't close enough to get you Huberdeau, I don't see why fla would trade Huberdeau unless it's to free up cap space for Panarin and Bob. But nonetheless they'd be looking for a bigger return.

What exactly did the 'best' dman in the world fetch for a full year of his services? Consider the market, this year has the most available top 6 players of any trade deadline, if it was any year than I'd be in agreement with you

CBJ has interest in Duchene, atleast you can get him and Dzingel and convince one to re-sign rather than lose Panarin for nothing because he's walking regardless

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurgerBoss</b></div><div>That's very bad return for Stone. Perreault's a 3rd liner, Petan's a 4th liner, Kulikov's a cap dump and low 1st and 2nd have pretty much no value. They lose a TOP10 right winger and don't get any quality assets in the exchange - and they don't even save money, which would leave Melnyk quite furious I'd think.</div></div>
Look what a full season of Karlsson fetched, I don't know what you're expecting in return and Petan is still young

Maybe take a look at the comment I made, the trade is based on how much value an NHL Insider put on Ceci. Imo he's worth less as well

I think your undervaluing Danault, MTL likes him a lot and I don't think it will take a disgruntled 30+ yr old winger to get him. Mangiapane is a good pro but has yet to show much consistency in the NHL to warrant such a return.

Ottawa has too many d-men, our younger d is pushing into the lineup for 5/6 spots, so what's the sense in having Boro take those minutes? May as well take a chance on Spooner

Panarin and Tavares + Seguins new contract. Thoughts CBJ fans? (Read Description
I think CLB would want maybe a one for one, someone that can step in Panarin's. Them trading him makes them worse in the now if it's for what you are offering, I think they still want to compete and he was their best player last year offensively. In terms of overall value for a trade though you are not far off, I just don't think it's what CLB is looking for.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wojohawk</b></div><div>Pass from Chicago. Hayes didn't want to play in Chicago in the first place, so why move assets for him now? Maybe it is jilted girlfriend syndrome, but I don't see the Hawks and Hayes as a match. I would rather give some of our young wing prospects the ice time and draft a good future (or trade for a part I like better then Hayes) with #27. Sproul is a UFA that we can sign ourselves and we don't really need a 3rd pairing RD as we have the most expensive one in the league under contract until there is a compliance buyout option. Kidding aside, unless we move a RD separately, we really don't need one as we have 3 under contract and last years first 2 picks look very good in the pipeline with a decent chance the #8OA best option may end up being a RD again.</div></div>
Yeah those are valid points and I considered that Hayes didn't sign in Chicago, was already aware of that. Sproul's only an UFA if he's not qualified otherwise he would be a RFA.

Car blockbuster-making sense of the rumors
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>Darling isn't an asset, it's a cap dump. Hawks are fine without him, but willing to take a risk to see if they can find magic again with him. Bottom line, he was awful last year and Carolina wants to dump him.</div></div>
LOL how's Hossa an asset either? Atleast the Hawks get a live body back who played well for them, his contract is cheaper than Hossa's and one year shorter plus it might lower the cost to acquire Faulk if Carolina includes him, you can put Hossa on LTIR but his cap hit only comes off once you reach the ceiling and even then I'm not sure the entire contract comes off. This scenario makes sense for both teams because Hawks take a smaller cap hit while Carolina just pays the low cost of Hossa's remaining contract. All I'm suggesting is that there's no way the Hawks take Darling unless a contract isn't sent the other way but for some reason you seem to disagree
