The SJS trade is terrible for the Sharks, since MacDonald is complete garbage. You also don't have Weal in the lineup, which is surprising given the fact that he has player so well with Giroux recently. This goaltender situation is worse than this year, since Neuvirth is a fringe starter and Pavelec is nothing more than a backup.</div></div>
Just not sure why you would want all your young d in the lineup all at once. Haag, Sanheim, and Myers should spend more time in the A. Also I explained the sj trade if you're interested. And lastly with regards to goaltending, philly wont trade for fleury and not sure why you would wanna overpay for Bishop this offseason...remember Bryzgalov?

I think the return is more than fair for the oilers. RNH imo is overrated, getting him doesn't solve MTLs real issues down the middle they need a heavy centre i.e: Couturier

Trade deadline plus offseason
Why does Arizona need Bozak when it costs them Crouse? They could just re-sign Hanzal instead and not give up any assets or sign Hanzal or another guy in the off-season. If Arizona takes Bozak they will give up picks lower end prospects, and or depth forwards/d-men.

Pretty fair offers, I think Calgary may need to add more to that Duchene deal if Colorado is going to deviate from their request of a young d-man that can jump in their lineup. I don't think Kylington is that type of player yet.

Huge rumors swirl in Buffalo today
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LeafsFan</b></div><div><i>I could see a trade like this but it would have to be Kane for maybe Fowler and Stoner?
Anaheim will want to set themselves up for the expansion draft and both Theo and Montour are exempt.
Not saying it has to be this way but would be more ideal in ANA's eyes</i></div></div> I think Anaheim wants to keep Fowler as he's currently their best dman and will try figure out the dman issue for expansion during offseason. Right now they are loaded w/ d prospects so I think they'd move one to get a forward for a deep playoff run. As for Buffalo it makes more sense for them to take a dman that wont be exposed to expansion like Theadore or Montour because they already have to protect Risto, Mccabe, and Kulikov if he re-signs while exposing Bogosian, where if they got Fowler then they would be losing a good defenseman for nothing.

Playoff Push
What you proposed is fair in terms of value imo, however Buffalo can't take another dman right now because they have to protect Risto, Kulikov (if he re-signs), and Mccabe for expansion while exposing Bogosian. So acquiring Ellis puts them at a risk of exposing a good defenseman and I doubt that they're looking to protecting 4 d for expansion. Also I don't understand why Nashville would add a dman right now and then trade one, this seems more of an off season move if anything where if Nashville loses Ellis to expansion then they sign stone.

I don't think Marner goes although I can see your logic based on Babcock being the coach. But I see them taking Simmonds especially for a bottom six role. Goaltending maybe Crow over Murray just based on experience, however I don't expect to see the 3rd goalie playing any important games. And I think Rielly should be taken out for Vlasic and Ekblad or Parayko for Seabrook. Just my opinion, no matter who is there at the tournament the team will be good on paper regardless.

If you wanna get Montour for nothing then that would require the team acquiring him to take on Bieksa or Stoner imo</i></div></div> Anh will add to their depth on d they have 3 injurys on d right now so I do think Anh will have interest in Hundwick and Polak. The Leafs do need Marcus foligno in the worst way. He can skate hit and he's heavy below the goal line and can handle things along side Martin. Check out Edmonton they are a mix of fast and size</i></div></div> I'm not gunna sit there and argue with you on foligno the reason you wanna bring him in varies on team philosophy. I just think there's another way the leafs can get that type of player without giving away a prospect and a second along with Sosh, imo that's an overpayment to what Foligno brings to the table. And ok even if Anaheim has those injuries on d theres potential theyre back before playoffs and even if theyre not they dont need to give away montour to get depth dmen....they could trade later round picks to get guys like Hunwick, depth dmen go for 4th-7th round picks near the deadline. Don't be fooled by what the leafs got for polak and spaling last year that was an outlier

if you say Fleury is unmovable you're stupid.
Not taking away anything from Rutherford he has two cups and has made good trades for Pitt. But he screwed up last draft and should've traded him then. Not sure as to what he was expecting to happen because Eliott was available and Bishop is still out there, so it's a buyers market out there for goalies and teams knew he would be handicapped if he didn't move him (expansion draft). So yeah they can move him but I imagine they would've gotten alot more last summer then they will now and that's poor asset management on Rutherford's part. I think Dallas would be a good fit but that would require Pitt to take a goalie back and I think Carolina and Calgary would be teams looking for a starting goalie however that depends on if he would waive his NTC to go there.

You're right my description was misleading but to state that you can expose them in expansion varies on the limit of their NTC.

Worst case scenario is they bury Greene's contract somewhere

No Way LA does this they aren't moving Muzzin. If you want a top 4 dman you are probably only getting Martinez from LA as the rest of their d core doesn't have much value with the exception of Doughty and Muzzin.

I think it's more likely that the Ducks are willing to trade Fowler or Vatanen rather than Theodore since Theodore would not need to be protected for expansion from Anaheim's end whereas the other two guys would, thus meaning the Ducks would lose a good dman without getting any return.
