Yeah that's how I see it too. One last ride before riding off into the sunset.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mdog98</b></div><div>pasta will probs look more like 10,000,000 heading into a quick rebuild krecji and bergeron retiring 100%.
would not sign kane if we want to rebuild and hope for higher picks. and i would def trade studnicka for a high pick.
trade reilly or forbort or both and also trade grezlyck for a 2nd round and propsect D. We have lohrei who is ready to play 3rd pairing i believe.
and we can sign some decent UFA Ds for cheap next year while have a mediocore year</div></div>
Yeah I'm starting to think at least one of the two will most likely retire after this season. It's a miracle Krejci came back to begin with because we all thought he was done after he left Boston to play in the Czech Republic.

Cap Problems
Yeah that's just the sad reality of our current cap situation unfortunately. I have every reason believe Pasta won't go anywhere especially if we can pull it together this season and our cap situation improves next summer.

Suter has taken a drop in production so that's why I paid Yandle more than Suter.

Ovi to Toronto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eli</b></div><div>"Ovechkin will never get tra---"
"Ovechkin, Alex ($4,000,000 retained)
WSH
Nylander, William
Dermott, Travis
Engvall, Pierre
2022 2nd round pick (TOR)
2023 2nd round pick (TOR)
2023 1st round pick (TOR)"
"Can we lower the retention to 2M, and throw in a couple of A to A- prospects instead of Engvall and Dermatitis?"
edit: obviously, the Caps' owner has been public about his desire to let superstars develop from within his teams' systems, and retire there if they want, and he's been clear that Ovechkin has that option. I have no idea if the Caps consider this, but I have to think that if they are stalled on contract negotiations, it would be almost tempting. As for waiving, I think Ovechkin has a list of eight teams he can be traded to. Whether he chooses that by location, by standings points, or by something else, I have no idea. But I think Liljegren could help in terms of positional depth and maybe a forward prospect.</div></div>
The idea is for Ovi to play elsewhere for his second ring then come back to the Caps the season after and help the Caps prepare for their rebuild and lay out the foundation so they'll be in a good position once he retires.

That's what I'm saying. If the Hawks keep up the momentum it would be a scenario where Bowman might consider buying.

I mean given that you're on a roll without Toews and Dach there's a small chance Bowman might consider taking a chance on this

I'm going off of what Winnipeg would want for Laine. I know Carlo is untouchable but I decided to make this one as realistic as possible.

Why though? Bowman would probably ask for Carlo or a first rounder for it to even be a possibility.
