I like it, I'd probably only offer yakapov half that or less, also I'd take barbario over Siemens... maybe sign another ufa in case someone gets injured because they have 13mill in space even more if they could buyout or trade Wilson... maybe pay chris Stewart a mill to play 3rd line and beat people up who mess with mack and rantanen

Former 1sts doesn't mean much. You gotta look at the player.
Morin is 5 years out from being drafted and has played 3 NHL games. He looks like he'll be a bottom pair shut down guy with no offense AT BEST.
Rubtsov regressed offensively as a 19 year old in junior. That's a terrible sign. A 19 year old that can't even put up point per game numbers in the Q has a huge red flag attached to him, plus he's Russian so as a borderline NHL prospect he's also a flight risk.
I love Simmonds but the guy is 30 and one year away from wanting a contract that will pay him way too much for way too long. He's been underpaid his whole career arguably. The last thing the Flames should be doing is giving up a young stud D man like Hamilton where the main piece in return will either bolt as a UFA after 1 year, or become an immediate anchor contract for the foreseeable future.
The 5th round pick? Well, if that doesn't flip the scales nothing will lol.

I think that CLutterbuck takes a little bit of value away from Eberle, if it was straight across I think there would be draft picks involved. I do only think this trade works if we can get rid of guys on the right side, namely Brouwer to open up the cap.</div></div>
Clutterbuck is a good player, I just don't like his contract. Like you said if you can't get rid of Brouwer then there's no way Clutterbuck works

I like the Brodie and Brouwer portions of this, but it would be insane to give up a top 15 pick for a goalie who hasn't proven yet that he can be a starter.

Leafs 2018-19/ any thoughts?
Way too much for St Louis to pay for r one year of Gardiner. Don't know if any team wants Zaitsev after the year he had, and if he's good maybe the Leafs keep him. Komarov again? Rather just keep Leivo. Bouemeester doesn't waive his NTC probably and certainly not just to be buried.

Everyones happy!
I'm torn on all of this. The scoring depth is a lot better, and I don't think the values are far off, but I don't know that you can win with ROR as your 1C. The team with the worst 1C to win a Cup since the lockout was Anaheim in 07 with a young Getzlaf. IMO, Monahan is already borderline if he is good enough to be that guy, and ROR is a step down.
Good creativity on the idea, just don't think I could pull the trigger on it if I was the GM.

I try to be objective. I do. I peg ror's value around 10oa. Fox is a wild card who might not sign, but 3oa is an overpay. I have suggested adding our 2nd, 32 oa in addition to ror for pick 3 and maybe a minor add. Montreal fans wont touch it. They want to charge collectors prices for yard sale assets.

IMO Bennet is a top 6 forward, he just needs to play with top 6 guys in order to show his skill set. If he keeps playing on the bottom 6 he’s going to suffer and eventually be sent out of town.

Full Montreal rebuild.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Truebeliever</b></div><div>I like this more than your previous one. It's a faster rebuild.
A few things: You're about $6M below the salary floor, so you could probably keep some degree of respectability with a couple of veteran signings. I know you want to go to the cellar in this plan, but if you don't give your team a chance to win at least some games, you create a Quebec Nordiques culture where they don't even try and forget how to compete.</div></div>
I want this team to finish bottom 5 again next year and bottom 10 the 2 following years, while accumulating more draft picks.
Bergevin is definitely not the guy for a rebuild, give one more year to Julien and let him go. Bring a coach that wants to play his nest players at the right position and proper ice time.
Unfortunately, they will need to sign a veteran center like Bozak or Stastny for 2 years max though. This team cant go and throw crazy money and terms to 3rd liners or bottom pairing dmen.

Don’t think you eat salary on price or Weber. Just says that cause it’s 8 years of paying guys not on your team, take less if you have to but don’t take money. But I like the direction, I’d try to target teams that think their piece away from winning but really aren’t (Phoenix, Dallas, etc) so you get better picks in the later years.

Provorov worth ten times that return. Giroux more valuble than Patches and Price. This is a massive loss for Philly.

Swap Frolik and Bennett in the trade? Probably still doable if salary retained. Neal can play either side so a really solid second line. Third line would still need work...

I think much like the Jagr situation, most teams are afraid to take the chance. Obviously, it didn't work for Jage/Flames, but give it a shot.
- Stajan has become a reliable defensive/4th line centre; doesn't hurt to pay him $1M/year to centre that line - Lazar isn't ready to fill it yet
- yes, it will - competition for him will be crazy (I really don't think anyone will get him anyway... but worth a shot)</div></div>
I dont disagree with the Stajan reasoning, but I think this is the exact reason they went and got Nick Shore. Who I think is a better center than Stajan at this time

I don't understand why you would make Pierre Dorion look like a genius. Why would you trade a decent backup goalie and one of the top 5 #2 centers for an aging winger that won't do much?
