Monahan era is over
A lot of these contracts don't make sense and why are the Flames paying to trade Dube? He's a capable middle 6 forward who isn't expensive...
2 years for Kylington and 1 year for Mang walks them to UFA, that would be terrible asset management.
Johnny should take an 8 year deal if he his staying.
Tkachuk is a wildcard, so, no comment.
Also, the UFAs don't make a ton of sense (other than keeping Gudbranson)

I think the saving grace for Calgary is that they can offer the extra year which means they won't necessarily have to give Gaudreau $10m. $10m on the open market is equivalent to $8.75m when you go for the total contract. With that said, they will probably both be over $9m like you suggested.

Is it possible
Poirier, 22 2nd= Monahan cap dump - NO
Zary, 23 1st, Pelletier= Bert - NO
23 2nd= Namestnikov - Maybe
24 4th= Stecher - Yes
Flames won't need to pay to trade Monahan, not yet at least. He's still serviceable and to say we would need to give a top 10 prospect and a 2nd to move him is just insane. So no, that's not happening.
Bertuzzi is a good player, but I don't think he's worth two top 5 prospects and a 1st. That seems like a massive overpayment especially with only one year left on his contract. Add to that, the Flames are strapped for cap space next season and will need Pelletier (and another rookie) to make the NHL so they can pay Gaudreau and Tkachuk, that's an easy no.
If we move Monahan, we could take Namestnikov.
I think that's fine for Stecher.

Anyway we could do CBJ 4th and Bemstrom? Since our 3rd is TBL's, the 4th is only a few spots back of it, and that's a decent chunk of salary to take on...</div></div>
I'd take that as a Flames fan.

Even if they did that they wouldn't be compliant in time. Ritchie's cap hit wouldn't come off the books until he clears waivers the next day, while Ruzicka is waiver exempt so his hit comes off right away, so Ruzicka had to go. I hope they call him back up after waiving Ritchie, but I doubt it will happen.

Flames had desperately needed a top line RW for years. Fact remains, why pay a 1st + or Pelletier to ruin the chemistry that has been built all season...

Come on now, we are trolling with this right?
Not gonna trade Pelletier or a pick to offload Monahan. He's 27 with 1 year left. There will be a team who would pay a 3rd or 4th to take a chance on him and could help a team hit the cap floor. This trade is nonsense.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DucharmetheDOMinator</b></div><div>Chiarot = 1st + 3rd

Switch 2nd to 4th, and it's fair.</div></div>
Flames do not need Chiarot, so why would they pay a 1st +?
Dvorak has been pretty bad this year, so he isn't going to net a top prospect. That's like saying Monahan is worth Harris +

Do you think if Gudbranson was on the market he would be worth anything more than a 3rd RD pick ? No, he wouldn’t, while Chiarot price is a 1st RD pick +. He might not get it, but Chiarot is wayyy better than Gudbranson, it’s not even close</div></div>
Gudbranson probably would net a 3rd, I'll give you that, but he's not being moved with how well he's played on the 3rd pair, so we will never know.
The funny part is that you think Chiarot is worth a 1st + because of one playoff run. He's not terrible, but he doesn't crack the Flames lineup with how well the defense are playing. If you want a 1st (or value around there), maybe trade him to a team that needs dmen.
And its not exactly a bias when Gudbranson is playing better than Chiarot in almost every aspect...

For the 508th time, Pelletier is not getting moved for a 3rd pair dman with no control.
Is Jake Allen even worth a 2nd right now?

Interesting concept, but the Flames don't need Provorov. I'm guessing Farabee or Atkinson would need to be involved with Konecny since the Flames Top 4 D are set.

Probably a 4th, maybe a 3rd if a team thinks they can revive him. Only 1 year left after this so not a huge commitment.

3 Way Deal
From a Calgary point of view, its not a bad move. Maybe take out the 2nd and give Anahiem the 3rd.
They can move Kerfoot in the offseason if they need to free up space.
I would just have Lucic in the line up and scratch Grant.

Was legit talking about this with some buddies a few days ago. If your gonna have Monny on the 4th line, you might as well put him in the AHL and bring up a prospect. Would like to see Pelletier on Backlund-Coleman line, but not a big deal

He is a playoff performer that played 30min per game during the playoffs and nuttered Marner and Matthews, Your defense got exposed by the habs' offense.
re-read the trade carefully - I'm taking a cap dump back - so I let you decide which player would be better to trade.</div></div>
Flames decline easily.
Markstrom for the next 5 Years, but Vladar until 2023. So Wolf will move to back up Markstrom in a year and a half and then eventually share time. So why would the Flames trade a top prospect AND a 1st for a guy who will play 3rd pair at most? I wouldn't put Chiarot ahead of Kylington with how he's been playing. Would you move a top prospect and a 1st for a 3rd pair dman? I doubt it.
Find someone else or take a lot less from the Flames

First Sharks fan that has liked a Hertl trade (that I've seen). I think its good value for the Sharks, but don't know if GMBT will pull the trigger on a rental having to move Zary. I would personally do it.
