Late 1st. Behrens is 1 year away from unrestricted free agency, I would bet he would rather do that than sign in Canada. JLF just came off a major injury. Georgiev is whatever. Johansen is a cap dump

I can feel it coming in the air tonight
So...it's a weak draft...and a late first shouldn't be take as similar value to, say, a late first last year.
Do I want to give up a first for Tanev? No. But I can see it happening. This package is too rich...but maybe Tanev + some depth piece.
Or something like a 1st + 4th + ahl player for Tanev + 3rd
Hopefully treliving has a solid understanding of what Tanev wants on an extension...if that's not something he wants to commit to, I don't think he should give up a first for a rental.

Wings can afford it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Flames decline that</div></div>
Flames wanted a 1 St round pick at a minimum added with Lindholm trade from Vancouver at a minimum, vancouver balked and this Tanev is still a flame.
At a minimum for Tanev, Calgary wants a good prospect and a 2nd, preferable a 1st round pick.
Then Hanifin, they are currently looking at a 1st, a prospect and current player in NHL. A good idea is the Lindholm trade but a little less.
That trade does not even come close to what Calgary has so far asked for.

Lets Talk About Sharky
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rags21</b></div><div>What position does he normally play?
He seems like a shoot first type player, but the rangers need a play driver on the top line for Mika and Kreider. Also the risk of him going back down to his usual self from his Devil days</div></div>
He was good in jersey.
I wouldn’t say he’ll maintain his current 20% shooting rate, but 15 is probably reasonable, he has an excellent shot.

Curious what Calgary fans think of the two deals they just made? To me, I’d be pretty happy with both.
The Zadarov deal was for fair value.
The Lindholm deal is interesting. Kuzmenko is probably a negative contract at this point, but he has the ability to recover his value if you can overlook the fact he doesn’t play defense. I like the D prospect you got. He should be worth a 2nd round pick especially in this draft. Give me players who appear to have taken the next step over late second round picks in a weak draft.
Both these deals seem like they have gotten relative value. Itnis curious to why you might not be using retention spots to up the value, but I don’t see any reason to complain

Give me a former 3rd rounder whose taken a step up vs a second round pick any day. I’m curious to see how Brz produces at the AHL level, but he was solid with Kitchener and I thought he was a viable second round pick in last years draft who dropped.
Good get for you guys.</div></div>
If Kuzmenko turns his game around and we end up flipping him next year this could be an excellent deal. I don't mind if the Nucks win the cup, ill cheer for anyone over the Oilers though.
Also we drafted Adam Fox in the 3rd round a while back, and also got Andersson the last time we had a Canucks pick so I like our odds

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Depends completely on his performance this year. He was great 2 years ago but didn't play last year. Seems like if he is close to form he is a conditional 2nd>1st similar to the Copp deal. Also depends on the market for that position of course. If in high demand with low supply it could be costly

Get out of here with your rational take, we have no room for anything but raaaaagggeee!!! I agree with you though, feels like an under utilized guy that is strong 5 on 5, teams new Toffoli wanted term and the Flames had no leverage in that deal.

Either he's wrong
Or all the people not being paid professionally on here are.
I wonder which it is ? lol
Toffoli hit 50+ points twice in 10 years both under Sutter and after he left he didnt hit 50+ again until Sutter and he re-united.
No one looks at Toffoli and says "Theres a 50+ point player" let alone considers him a 70+ point player cause he did it one.
I mean so did Max Domi, what his value in a trade at best so far since?
You got a younger guy who's a 35-45 point player for a player who over 8/10 NHL seasons is described the same way
