Notice a trend. Now take off Kapanen and Johnsson from the group. 🤦♂️ There is no depth scoring on this team anymore. They struggle to score 5v5. This isn’t some 5 game trend.</div></div>
They have become more defensive, we don't need 5 goals per game anymore. We score enough to win games, trust me letting his contract slide will do more good than bad.

Five game sample size dude, the Leafs have been top 5 goals for in the league each season since 2016-17. We have enough on O.

This is a good contract, remember this player is 27 years old. I watch a lot of eastern conference hockey and JGP is an underrated talent, he is a great 2 way player who has proved he can score. he can crack some top 6's across the league. Centre is a premium position so 5 isnt alot for a 2 way guy who can score, excited to see what he does in New York.

I did not note that this addresses the teams toughness, simply saying it helps. He may play 11 minutes a night yet he still has the 14th most hits in the NHL

Dumba is a nice piece but the price is waaaay too high. Zaitsev, the 1st and another mid rounder maybe. Not sure if Nylander/Dumba straight across is an even deal. Don't know Dumba well enough to say. I'm allergic to mistake prone defensemen. Don't know where he rates there.</div></div>
When healthy, Matt Dumba is one of the best RHD in the league

What if Toronto sent over a 1st rounder, 3rd rounder and a good prospect along with him? And when your ready to contend in 3 years, he will be easy to trade.

The Hainsey, Ennis, and McElhinney signings aren't very necessary, and Stralman is very overpaid. The Panarin signing isn't awful, but I don't think it will actually happen.</div></div>
It gives you 17 million plus if the cap goes up another 4 million. So it gives you 21 Million!

Nylander was a high 60s point getter in the 2 years previous, and he is 23 years old, there is obviously still growth. He had a down year because he got his season started in december. He is tearing up the world championships at the moment and his skills are coming around once again.
