almost all FA signings wind up being terrible. they dont call it silly season for nothing.

Flyers - Farewell CapFriendly
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JIG19146</b></div><div>That very well might be the priority, but I could see the end result being something similar to this trade. As a Flyers fan, I've watched Farabee quite a bit over the years, and I can't stop but think there is more to tap into there. I'm just not sure it will happen in Philly. He's entering his prime years and would be surrounded by more high level talent in Buffalo. That should translate to more production, and he fits Buffalo's timeline better than any prospect they draft at 11OA. I think this is a worthwhile trade for both teams.</div></div>
even if i believed that, ownership wont let them do it until theyve moved the skinner contract first. It would look something like dropping from 11th to 18th ovr with chicago taking skinner and then i guess 18th and something for farabee.

I could see the sabres doing this, but a part of me still thinks 11 gets moved to ditch skinner's contract first before they add anyone.

I think Mcleod adds more wins to the team than Debrusk tbh.
Adams is like 0 for 7 on FA signings or whatever. His best move is to disconnect the phone lines that week.

more likely they trade 11th or 18th (after trading down and moving skinners deal) instead of kulich but that farabee trade seems exactly like what adams will do.

Sabres Playoffs Adams Keeps Job
Assuming the hawks are okay with that, I wonder if the Sabres would add that first (18th) to the washington deal and ask for Dylan Strome as well? two birds one stone kinda thing (RHD and 3C)

Maybe you meant Tampa ownership vetoing it.....doesn't seem like the trade helps them unless they're truly in a cap crunch and have no other options they like.</div></div>
IIRC his contract is pretty heavy in signing bonuses which Pegula has actively tried to avoid.

i get danault is valuable but calling Quinn a massive underpay is ignorant at best lol

Danny B 2nd off season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Fjordy</b></div><div><strong>Why? They will also get a 3C, it is not necessarily that if they trade for a top 6 forward they will not get a 3C.</strong> There are a ton of options that will not cost #11. On defense I am not sure, there are no rumors about it anywhere. We have Dahlin, Power, Byram, Samuelsson, Jokiharju, Clifton and Johnson. I would replace Jokiharju with a more physical and reliable player like Roy or DeMelo, but that is easier said than done. I do not know Adams plans around our defense.</div></div>
It kind of is/does. Centres go for way more than wingers and reliable 2 way centres are especially expensive. They dont really have the capital to do both. especially considering they are still probably on everyones NTC. They have to be ready to overpay for a good one who doesnt have trade protection or theyll be stuck running Krebs there next year. Theyre definitely not going to risk that.

Potential rebuildretool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JarvisforSelke</b></div><div>Like who else would you move that has a lot of upside (preferable a forward)?</div></div>
i wouldnt move anyone who has a lot of upside. Those are guys you have to keep to win lol. Wingers typically go for way less value than ppl think. And if that takes Necas off the board so be it. Id just call STL about Buchnevich and build something around 11th overall.
Tbh, they shouldnt be trading for a top six winger at all. Their biggest priorities are a matchup 3C and a d-man to replace jokiharju.

They like his upside a lot. It's not worth moving a guy like that when there are others with less upside they could move for a top six guy if they wanted to, including the 11th pick.

yeah the trade was about farabee so i focused on that. But im not sure theyll actually go for a top six forward. Not when they've got bigger problems at C and replacing jokiharju on D.

Farabee is a scoring winger who isn't good defensively. Does that sound like something that will help add wins to the team? It's not a dig at farabee, who is a fine top six forward. Its just not the player they need. and adding him inspite of that for 11th overall wouldnt improve the sabres chances at a playoff spot, it would just be a move for the sake of making a move.

What more do you think you can get with that pick? Ur not getting Zegras, you can get Necas but Necas is literally just Farabee if he played on Carolina and was a year older. Unless u packaging the 1st and Ostlund/Kulich for someone like TK then sure. But in a 1 for 1 swap pick for player Farabee is probably one of the best available options</div></div>
Yeah thats why I don't think theyll trade 11th overall. They shouldnt be targeting a winger anyways.

Well we are clearly not rebuilding now and I completely agree with you, they will lose their jobs and the fans will lose faith (some have already lost faith and left). I would easily trade this pick.</div></div>
no but trading all your best assets just to say you did it for a collection of players that doesnt add all that many wins to the team does.
