<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>Call me crazy, but looking at CBJ's roster, I don't think adding extra scoring is what they need this season. Laine was a PPG player last season when he was healthy; Voracek had 62 pts in 79 GP, Nyquist had 18-35-53 in 82, Boone Jenner had 23-21-44 in 59 GP, Jack Roslovic had 22-23-45 in 81 GP (and he's a 4th liner here!) Oh, and they added a friggin' 114 point player in Johnny Gaudreau. Add in the assumed progression from your teenagers Sillinger & Johnson, and Patrick Kane is a little bit of a hat on a hat here.
If they're sending out premium assets, they should be looking to upgrade either their goaltending situation or shoring up the bottom of their D. I think they've got three solid D in Werenski/Boqvist/Gavrikov, I think they're stuck with Gudbranson, but I think you could consider upgrading Jake Bean and maybe even Andrew Peeke. The team is going to score a ton of goals (they were 14th in the league last year and that's before they added Gaudreau), but they need to get better at stopping them (28th of 32 last year with 300 allowed).</div></div>
You're not wrong here

Buyout Wennberg, trade a defenseman. That's all it takes. Florida is rumored to be interested in Murray. Other teams are interested in Savard. This isn't anything out of the question.

You're double counting assets here. It's essentially Milano, Robinson, 1st for Laine since the prospects/players were used to reacquire the picks. It'd be a very, very risky move considering that Winnipeg could match the offer.

Can Atkinson be as impactful without Panarin getting all the attention from the opposition?
Can Bjorkstrand or Texier (or Bemstrom) climb into the top six and find a fit?
Can one of those goaltenders be a no.1?
Will the team still believe in Torts' message now 4 years in?
The defense is still very good but I think CBJ are gonna need a quiet re-tool over the next couple years to optimize their chances during Jones/PLD/ZW prime.
P.s. I love Josh Anderson</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_K</b></div><div>Lots of guys get 20+ goals every year - I'm not saying he will all of the sudden be bad. The best teams rely on their stars. With Panarin gone, is Atkinson going to be able to carry the team?</div></div>

Atkinson scored 36 before Panarin was acquired. It's silly to think that he won't continue to produce, although his assist totals might go down. He's a sure bet for 25+ goals and 50+ points. It's not like we're asking him to carry the load, there is plenty of depth on the team.
Bjorkstrand scored a 40-goal pace the second half of last season playing 3rd line minutes. He's going to get a chance to play consistently in the top-6. Texier is more of a question mark, but he showed glimpses of magic late in the year. He could be a dark horse candidate for the Calder.
Goaltending will be wait-and-see. I personally don't have much faith in Korpi. But even replacement level goaltending would be fine, as that projects us to be a mid-90s point team according to Sean Tierney's WAR model.

The WAR model only has them hitting 93 points (still high imo). Where are you getting 108 points from? Your own predictions?</div></div>
Read the description. If Elvis is the real deal and has a similar season to Binnington last year, the WAR lineup generator projects to 108 points.

I was under the impression that Ottawa had no interest in Wennberg, and they would prefer high caliber prospects instead. But I would be OK with sending Wennberg to OTT in this deal if we were to take Heponiemi back along with the rest of the package from FLA.

He's definitely worth 9M. Already making over 7 now. He's in the same echelon as Panarin in terms of game breaking ability, creating chances, and forcing turnovers. Cam's deal is irrelevant to what we would pay Stone.
