Yes, and I agree but I just don't think he comes back. Even if he does he will likely get hurt again.

Monahan can't stay healthy. He seemingly re-injured himself while skating in a non-contact jersey. I think he will retire this summer

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Here's the problem I see with all of the recent Thatcher-Demko-to-Los-Angeles trade ideas:
Demko was horrible this year, almost undoubtedly due to his injury. When he returns from rehabbing that injury, and plays the last third of the season, one of two things will happen:
1. Either he will display his earlier form, in which case why would Vancouver trade him; or
2. He will not show any improvement, in which case why would Los Angeles want him?
Vancouver fans have to stop dreaming that the Kings will trade Cal Petersen with substantial assets for Thatcher Demko anytime soon. We will all have to wait until draft day to see what the respective values of the two goalies are. And one asset you WON'T be getting is our 2023 first-round draft pick.
With respect to this specific trade, take the 2023 first and Dermott (who's utterly useless to us) out and make the 2024 second conditional upon some performance criteria to elevate to the 2024 first. That would make sense in the offseason after we've all seen Demko finish out the year. I have yet to be convinced that he'll recover any better than Carey Price has.</div></div>
Typical very good point made by OldNYIfan. Fair enough. Even if I know the trades are unrealistic and don't work, I love hearing well thought out, sharp arguments from fellow hockey fans. Thanks.
P.S. - you know I'm not a Nucks fan!

What is the price on Beauvillier
I would say probably throw in a 4th/5th and it might work.
VAN can then eat half of Kerfoot's salary and flip him for a third or a fourth which would give them:
Raty, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th for Horvat which is pretty nice!

The coaching excuse makes sense. I hadn't factored in the Eakins effect. You guys win this one.

Wonder what his issue is in Montreal right now, I would have figured his scoring would have picked up under the coaching change.</div></div>
I mean, he and comtois have had practically the same season, except Comtois has 70 pims and Armia hardly takes penalties

You'd have to make a trade worth their while.</div></div>
They get a rental for a potential playoff appearance without giving anything up. Namestnikov was valuable for Dallas in last years playoffs. They get a reliable 4th line winger and a sixth round pick for a career AHLer

Getting Chychrun
I bet Arizona even asks for more tbh.
I am not at all sold on Shane Pinto (do not understand the Ottawa hype about him), Zaitsev is a cap dump, Thomson is a decent prospect but nothing special, the 24 first is nice but Arizona wants picks in 2023, they have anough 24s

Lets's go!!!
Yeah I think a 24' first would be fair. Tbh the man reason I went for a 23' first was because Arizona is so stacked with picks in 24' and 25' but only have their own in 23' lol

Players who's careers are over don't participate in practices.</div></div>
He skated a few times and hasn't been seen in two weeks. He's MIA and has had serious injury issues for three years now. I'm literally a Canadiens fan and have been following along with his rehab. I don't think he plays after this contract is up but whatever, go ahead and insult and call names instead of having a productive conversation...
