Oh but hey they will kick in Robertson a guy who can’t make the Leafs, so somehow COL who is just as deep on the wings and has their own version of him in Olausson is somehow going to convince them it’s in their best interest. You can’t tell me that COL wouldn’t be a thousand times better off just trading him for draft picks in this scenario. Come on tell me how any of this nonsense makes a bit of sense for COL and that’s before you even acknowledge Kampf sucks. Capital S, capital U, capital C, capital K, capital S. You seem to think he has value he doesn’t. He gets destroyed in shot metrics. He gets destroyed on ice results. And you somehow think it’s relevant what he two or more seasons ago. The problem is you can’t acknowledge how awful the idea is, can’t acknowledge how truly awful Kampf is but you want to whine about a trolling post. Gtfo</div></div>

Only way to resign players is if Mittlestadt will take a bridge deal. I'm hoping drouin will resign but he's gonna command more.
I'm hoping duhaime can be resigned. I would try and trade manson in offseason. It will definitely alleviate some cap space. There gonna need it. I'm a try and do a realistic one with landy back</div></div>

Can someone please explain the obsession with Zadorov 4m for a no offensive upside defensive defenseman that plays physical he is essentially just Benoit and you are paying Benoit 1.275m. Why not spend the money elsewhere like goaltending or better depth forwards and find someone else like Benoit you can pay much less and still get the same benefits?</div></div>
Josh Manson makes $4 million. No offensive up side but physical. And he picked up that contract after a couole bad years in Anahiem. So $4 for Zadarov, who plays the same game, just isn't outside the realm of possibility. Plays 17 minutes a game in Vancouver, which is sounding like top 4 minutes to me, unless you are running 4 guys 23 minutes a night.

Now, I will say this..... if Landeskog in on the LTIR, the Avs have zero reason to do this.
If he is not, as I explained, I think moving Colton is the least evasive option.
Now, my question is, since you reposted it..... what do you think of it? Where I think the integrity of the Avs bottom 6 remains relatively intact, do you?
Most saw logic in it, but weren't digging Kämpf. On the Leafs version of the ACGM, I had a troll for lack of better words.
But I still look at this bottom 6 as I had it and think ya.... I would run that.

Well this is certainly interesting......
1. I had to look up Tsyplakov lol. But gotta say..... he is awefully intriguing. I should subscribe to the Athletic lol. Shrewd.
2. Roberston for Glass: I have felt for a year now that Robertson simply doesn't have a long term future as a Leaf. Moving him for Glass is gutsy. But I actually like the fit. Ya just might squeeze a little something more out of that one, hard to say.
3. Vladar. You have totally hit to goalie market on the head. And short of DeSmith or bringing back Sammy, well..... those are the options. Only concern here is if Hildeby will be ready in two years. I think he will need 3.
4. Poulin. You are not wrong in the marriage with the Pens coming to a close. However, is he no longer waiver exempt, so he either makes the team or there is a real a risk of loosing him on waivers. Would hate to waste Jarnkrok on that.
5. Not a fan of the Tanev signing. We know what he can do when healthy, but that is the point. I think a better target is Carrier - may not be as tough, but plays a very well rounded game. I think he and Reilly would be fun to watch together.
6. Zadarov. Hard to say no to that if that is the contract. Perfect McCabe replacement in a year.
Overall this is brilliantly thought out. May not totally agree with it 100%, but the rationale behind each move is clear. And more importantly, none of the deals are pie in the sky..... all very possible.

I’m fully acknowledging COL might have to make a cap move, that all depends on Landeskog, but there is no way in hell they trade Colton for Kampff to get less than $2M in space when they can just trade him for futures and get $4M. Your position COL would do this is completely ludicrous. Oh and Kampff sucks.</div></div>

Offseason Avs - No Landy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>No need to sign Teravainen when Drouin is sitting right there and would probably take less money. Colton wouldn't be terribly hard to unload considering his age, position and contract but he probably wouldn't bring a ton back which is okay if all you're looking for is cap space. I doubt Walker takes that kind of term or money; I imagine he's looking for something closer to $5Mx5.</div></div>
I proposed a deal with the Leafs that was Colton for Kämpf and Robertson. The general idea here was taking Colton's hit and spreading between two players who in one can replace him well defensively, and other being young, with contract control and can reasonably replace the offense. In that scenario, Landy was in the lineup.
The deal had mixed reviews amongst Avs fans, where most saw the logic behind the deal as being sound, but didn't like the targeted return.

For pesce, watching him shows he still plays very good defensively. But if not him, we can look to Roy as well. I was look at a true right handed defensively responsible defender. I get Robertson is still raw and Domi is more offensive. The idea here is to give the young players a chance to prove themselves with limited space and get another good defender which we need. Steeves, Robertson, Cowan etc... will all fight for positioning..the next year we can look to have Tavares signing for much less and can then better address an extra defender, an extra winger and center where needed. Reaves can easily be swapped around with Holmberg, Steeves etc.... he was good recently and proved he can play it agree he is no regular mainstay.</div></div>
All for letting the kids play, but I think that needs to be supported with 200 foot players at forward. Domi definitely isn't it. And if Robertson is going to play 2nd line, I would be inclined to think about another option over JT.
I just don't see this team being any different that this year's beyind the blueline changes. I don't think that is enough to shore up the team's defensive play

What I see here is a similar team.to this year.
The bleuline has more bite, but the team as a whole will continue to depend far too much on 6 guys.
Robertson is still green. Far to insulated under Keefe. As a result, I am.not sure is defensive play is there to justify 2nd line minutes. That responsibility falls on JT, and as he gets older, that gets dicey playing heavy minutes.
Domi is a sheer offensive talent. Now the bonus is Jarnkrok is quite effective playing 200 feet and McMann has been a revelation - but that line needs a 200 foot player playing centre.
The 4th line with Reaves on it is a liability. He hits. That is about it. That line needs to forecheck, and outside Dewar, it can't. Simply put, easy exits, pinned in the D zone.
As for the D core itself:
Pesce is very good, but I agree.... isn't the right guy for Reilly. Need more of a two-way presence there. I think that guy is Carrier.....
Timmins on the bottom pair I don't like either. As a platoon option, for sure..... he changes the overall look of the blueline. But a guy like Hakapää playing with Benoit would be some levels of nasty Leafs fans haven't seen on the back end in decades. I would accept Edmundson in that role, but I would prefer the right shot.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>Kampf sucks ass this bs trade nets COL less than $2M in cap space for almost 1/3rd of the production. Kampff is good defensively on what planet? He get destroyed in 5v5 shot share his xGD when on the ice is -11. Minus 11. Sure the Avs are right to the cap but it doesn’t mean they give away players. Did I mention Kampf sucks and you trying to say otherwise is pure spin, he sucks at defense his offense sucks for what he is being paid, and his contract sucks. He sucks. Nobody and I mean nobody is trading for him and giving up a real asset. COL could literally do any number of things if they need to move cap, but the one thing they won’t do is give guys away. Kampf (did I mention it already) sucks and where does Robertson play in COL? COL made the choice to build their bottom 6 around Colton and Wood, that hasn’t changed because you say they need to do TML a favor and take a guy who sucks (did I say that already?) who has an awful contract.</div></div>
Kämpf's season this year is a function of linemates.... Gregor and Reaves don't move needles. Wouldn't expect them too. Sheerly a defensive roll, with Reaves being a hindrance on that line and then some. Why else would the Leafs go get Dewar?
Now, if we go back to 2021-22, Kämpf regularly played with some solid linemates - Engvall and Mikeyev.... where he was a defensive conscience (not taking away from his linemates). Had positive offensive metrics for two years..... not over the moon, but positive.
Selling a 1 year snapshot of a player and claiming he sucks doesn't fly. I never claimed he was fantastic - but he is a very good defensive player, who can fill in as a 3C if needed. You can throw that -11 around, but when the guy starts 72% of his ice time in the defensive zone, not many players would do better.
He has had a bad year this year for sure. But he doesn't suck. Frankly I would be alright keeping him, but in this instance that simply won't work.
Not sure what you think the Avs get for Colton. Tampa gave him away for a 2nd last year, to the benefit of the Avs. Now the table has turned. Whether it is Colton, Manson, Lehkonen or Nichushkin (the latter two I would not move at all right now and Manson I think leaves a massive void on the blueline), you are getting less the market value.
As it sits right now, the Avs cannot ice a 20 man roster. So, spreading out $4 million among two players in the bottom 6 makes a tonne of sense.
You don't have to like the reality. I wouldn't. I am sure Bolt fans were just in love with a 2nd for Colton.

Avs have serious cap issues and you know it. And when I posted this as an Avs ACGM, all saw the logic behind the deal. May not have liked the targets, but the logic is sound.
Kämpf was pretty put up back to back close to 30 point campaigns (28 and 29 respectively if I remember correctly). Playing 15 minutes a game. Roberston playing sheltered minutes is close to a 40 point campaign. Colton is a 40 point player. Better than either player here, yes. But is it that far a step.back from.Colton? No.
Gonna be difficult for the Avs to male a cap move when 31 GMs know they need to make a cap move and get a win out of it. Best case scenario is Lando g 2 players that can fill rolls that come close to the cap hit.
You can disagree. That is fine. But there is your stark reality. Haters will hate

It is a very deep UFA pool on the blueline, so I am not sure if DeMelo gets $5 million per. I so agree he gets more than his current contract. There are a lot of options that look like DeMelo available.
Duchene..... he maybe 33, but I see $5-6 million over 2 years there. His year has been too good to think he gets less. Unlike the UFA pool for defense, the forward pool is razor thin and Duchene, who can play both centre and the wing, is one of the best available. That contract is simply light imo.

Then along comes 23-24 and he falls off a cliff.
Part of me wonders if this as more to do with how the Canes deploy him (nothing steady about his icetime). Part of me wonders if he is really a LW. Part of me wonders if Brind'amour likes him. Part of me says he is still only 23.
Would like to think there is something there.... but what that is I have no idea anymore.
