Vancouver is officially open for business
A rental like Horvat is going to cost a 1st rounder, a prospect or later pick and a player. Like Giroux or Chiarot last year especially if they retain 50% of Horvays salary so it would be a 2.75 million cap hit. A rental like Schenn at 50% retained (375,000 cap hit) is going to cost a couple of picks, maybe a 2023 2nd and 2024 5th.. See Jarnkrok last year. That's the market.

Canucks forced rebuild launch
I think the Canucks would need a first and a prospect like Topi Niumela or Knies. Otherwise they would say no to Toronto and that the Bruins offer is better so good luck in the playoffs this year.

(ANA/VGK) - Kesler, Moore for Dadonov and 2nd Round Pick [REVERSED]
So if this trade is voided and their current players on LTIR become healthy enough to play what can Vegas do? Can they stay on LTIR? Dadanov can't be traded now until the season is over. Can he be waived? Could Anaheim then just claim him?

I still like Prokop. He is big with excellent numbers this year in junior hockey. Canucks already have 5 RD' under contract for next year, Myers, Haminuk, Poolman, Shenn and Burrough. Haminuk and Myers would be very hard to trade but Prokop will be 22 when Myers contract expires which is when he might be ready. Evangelista is pretty small so would prefer L'Heureux but with a first would do it. Don't want Meyers as he is similar in talent to the 5 existing d's. No spot for Fabbro now plus Canucks need cap. Grimald is a UFA so no hit next year. 1st would be nice though.

Well you would have to hope the difference between a Canuck 1st and Arizona 2nd would only be a drop of 5 or less spots. I got excited when they announced on TV the the Canucks had the best record of any Canadian team since Dec. 1st. They probably won't be buyers but if Benning was still there they might of been.

Leafs Canucks trade for JT Miller
I can't see Van giving away JT for this let alone Shenn. 2 former 3rd rounders plus a late first is not enough. Good for Toronto though. They could bring back Muzzin for the playoffs and do what Tampa did and Vegas are doing.

Deal or no deal
Pittsburg is in win now mode as their window with Crosby, Malkin and Letang is closing fast. Vancouver is 2 to 3 years away or more. I think if one of the Pittsburg draft picks is a first then it could be be considered. Vancouver then could trade Zucker at next years deadline for a 2nd or 3rd if they retained some salary. I don't know if they have the cap room to resign Boeser this offseason anyways.

Prospects between 20 and 25 deal
The Toffoli trade has set a precedent of a 1st, another pick a player and a prospect. I would think Chytil, Kratsov a 1st and 2024 second would be possible although Vanvouver fans might say not enough

Cant resign Boeser anyways
I just don't think a defenceman of Marino's quality and cap hit would be traded by any team.. Canucks have 4 right d's under contract for next year. They need an NHL quality left d in my opinion. I don't know if Rathbone is that guy. This and a 1st for a guy they don't have the cap room to resign is why I offered it. And its Pettersens brother who may snap him out of the funk he has shown. As for Pittsburg, they are in win now with Crosby and Malkin. I think Boeser could help them and they may want to even resign him if they can or just trade his rights after the season.

Jump starting the rebuild in Vancouver
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TCBalow87</b></div><div>The reason you've yet to see it is for one of two reasons. 1) The whack job fans think who think every player/prospect is untouchable are rampant here. 2) The proposals are lunacy.
This is a terrible proposal on MN's behalf and isn't even one of the worst ones we've seen on here recently. Like, how is a team with 12-14+ million in dead space the next three years going to take on two players making ~13+ million while giving up an ELC and a sub-2 million dollar absolute bargain? There's just no way a bunch of things on here make sense, so that is why you don't get many (if any) MN fans agreeing with trades on here. Come up with something that makes sense for a team entering cap hell and maybe they would agree with it. (Not telling YOU personally to come up with something, just in general)</div></div>
You are quite right with what you state however many of the arguments used to critizise these trades seem to be based on the worth of the player traded for rather than cap space. I guess people can over valuate their favourite team players. Even Minnesota fans..

Jump starting the rebuild in Vancouver
I've yet to see any trade idea regarding the Wild approved by a Minnesota fan on this forum. I do agree though that the Wild will need to keep anyone they have on a entry level contract for the next few years to be able to meet the cap limit cause when the Sutter Parise buyout hits they will no longer be able to add to their team except for rookies.
