He might be a bust, but considering half the ACGM’s this year have had their teams acquiring him I think that fan bases actually want him. And a dumpster fire franchise like the Sabres could really use some help.
Bouch is just a bridge deal, term might be a year too long but they need to bridge him even though they really shouldn’t. They’ll get stuck with another Nurse contract after bridging him.

I know this isn’t really the point of these ACGM’s, but how screwed are the Avs for Nate’s extension? Even on a home team discount he’s going to be worth 10.5-12 easily. Where do they find room?

I think it’s a hard no on all those trades lol
That Edmonton one is shockingly horrid. Why would they move Yamo and Pulju WITH a draft pick for Husso (like 50 nhl games played) and Osterle (who they already had)

Changing rules in the CBA on the fly. Edmonton should get a cap bonus for Keith retiring.

Yeah I think that’s closer. I would look at a third pair D just to insulate Broberg a bit. Maybe a Pysyk or Gustafsson for a mil.
And maybe a younger winger over Gags but I think it’s decent

Klef will be LTIR so you have an extra 4mil to play with.
Kulak will cost more if the term is that short. 4y by 2.5 is the rumoured contract.
Kane will get 6.5.
So you’ve got about 3 mil to find another D and W.

I also kept kulak at the 2.22 aav as I gave him the 5th year over the suggested 2.5aav over 4 years that’s been talked about.

I like it! Smart move leaving some cap space for Nurses raise next year but I would see if you could get some D help for a year. Putting lots of faith into Lagesson, Bouch and Bear with only Russell to come in and help. Maybe bring Koekkoek back?

Trying a team other than the Oilers

Applaud you trying a bee team but honestly I think you made the Avs worse especially offensively.</div></div>
I was just looking at moving a higher AAV guy to help on D. Makar contract I think might even be a little low at 9.5 and MacKinnon is up soon too so needed some cheap depth like Chiasson and Drake but didn’t love those moves.

Looks good.
I think it’s a little rich for Smith, even after this year I think the most he gets is 2mil
I also think you could use the 2.6 in cap space to get a bit of C depth. Maybe a Glendening? Need someone to compete with McLeod a bit.

Oilers biggest off season
I think Smith will be more along the 1.5 to 2 range for AAV.
That’s a little high on the Larsson deal. 4.5 at most for him.
Coleman will have lots of suitors, he will probably be 3.5 or higher.
You’re also missing a winger, but I assume that’s so you can double shift Connor and Leon

Third attempt at fixing the Oilers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jjkhairaELTE99</b></div><div>for seattle to take neal it would take a1st at the very least... better to wait a year and buy him out. If nuge is staying he isnt going to get anything more than 6mil out of edmonton cause he has 0 leverage after a bad year. coleman at most goes for 4mil cause at the end of the day he is a 3rd line forward his whole career. ARZ deal is a yikes that would happen on NHL 20 on easy. Spending money on koekkoek, oleksiak AND savard is such a waste of both cap and young talent already in the system.</div></div>
Lagesson is a good young defensemen to give up with that pick too though. I wouldn’t say a first but MAYBE a second to take on Neal but they do need decently sized contracts to bring them up to the cap floor.
For Nuge is a balance of term and cap hit. A slight raise and eating up more FA years. I think teams might offer him 6.5-7 seeing as there isn’t a stellar group of FA this year.
ARZ trade is them trying to recoup a high round pick after forfeiting and they most likely don’t want to pay Garland, even though they should. The secondary pick would probably have to be higher than a 6th, maybe a 4th down the round.
The D moves aren’t great but was trying to find actual NHL value on those contracts. If Bouchard was closer to being ready he should have pushed guys out of the lineup instead of hanging out on the taxi squad all year. I’m not as big of a believer in Jones or Bear as most people are either. I’d rather have guys in there that can play in the NHL

first attempt at fixing the Oilers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>Koskinen might’ve been the only goaltender close to as bad as Carter Hutton was this past season. Another Carter Hutton with a long-term deal who actually costs more would be the stupidest trade the Sabres have made next to Ryan O’Reilly leaving town for nothing in the last decade.</div></div>
Koskinen had some real stinkers but I’d say he’s more serviceable than Hutton. Just my opinion though and I didn’t catch enough Sabres games. 2.5 for 1 year is ok for a team like Buffalo but getting Tage back in the return was a stupid move by me.
First one of these I had done so didn’t really know what I was doing.

Only thought on the Buffalo trade was that they need a goalie and Mikko is decent at 2.5 for 1 year for them but yeah it shouldn't be Tage coming back and probably lower than a second.
And the Knight trade is a dream, but with Driedger being FA they will keep him but will be tough to hold onto Bob for 6 more years at 10mil
