I have to say Tampa wins this solely because the RICH got even RICHER. Savard most likely is gonna fit perfectly.

Tampa Detroit dream trade
Next time a fan complains about a player holding out for more money, or for leaving in UFA or anything, remember this type of fan exists.
"We lose nothing on the ice" as he trades his captain who took a massive paycut to stay in tampa, was on a 95 point pace before his injury (after scoring 98 points the year before and being on a 90 point pace the year before that and 96 point pace the year before that) and who gutted it out to just be a part of the play off race.
loyalty with many fans is one sided.

I like Schenn and his AAV, but YOU CANNOT GIVE 8 YEARS TO A PLAYER EXITING THEIR PRIME - ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY AREN'T ELITE TOP LINE TALENT!

MacKinnon's production exploded at the same time as Rantanen's. I don't think that's a coincidence. They boost each other's games a lot.

Cup winners without injuries
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafboy101</b></div><div>Who is to stop them? The west is super weak, Boston is old and Tampa isn’t even close to signing point, the team and point are almost $2 million apart in contract negotiations.</div></div>
Lol at the west is super weak, is that why Boston lost in the finals?
To answer your question
<strong>From the East:</strong>
Boston (again as usual)
Tampa (even without Point, not sure if you noticed the 28 point lead in the regular season)
Washington
Carolina
Pittsburgh (their center depth and defense are basically mirror images right now)
Philadelphia
Florida (had 2 issues last year and solved both this summer)
<strong>From the West:</strong>
St. Louis (you know just won the cup and didn't loose a single person from their roster)
Colorado (that first line is better than Bostons and they just made their 2nd line strong too)
Nashville
Dallas
Winnipeg (maybe? Depends on if they fill their holes)
Calgary
Vegas (do you know how much of a difference Stone made?)
San Jose (Karlsson's considered to have had a down year last year and still put of 45 points in 53 games)
All of these teams are perfectly capable of beating the Leafs. Their defense is still subpar and they are running and you have them on a 21 man roster, that means your 21st person has to be able to play both defense and forward in case an injury occurs.

Nylander Is Far Better Than Marner
You need to learn about sample sizes. Nylander and Tavares have played together for a combined total of 37 minutes at 5v5, while Marner and Tavares have over 1000.

It's hard not to use Matthews as his comparable. Yes Mathews is a center but Point collects more points.</div></div>
You realize that the OP is proposing a 3 year bridge deal right? If you think 5x10 is fair value, then is 3x8 really that far off? I'm confused.
Also, do you think point is not a center??? You said "yes Matthew's is a center, but Point collects more points". Point is a center. Do you think he's a winger? I'm baffled by your comment

Gardiner Was More Important To Have Than Marner
Sorry, what? Gardiner is good but nowhere near as good as Marner IMO. I wouldn't say he's as good a d-man as Rielly ... Rielly is a top 20 d-man in the league IMO ... Gardiner is a 2nd pairing d-man IMO.
