Not a fan of any of these deals for the Oilers.

Lagesson has looked great with Larsson. Staal is has one of the worst +/- in the league. I know its kind of a useless stat, but when you are on the extremes, its something to consider. Not to mention, with Staal being a longtime verteran, I can't see him wanting to quarantine for 2 weeks at this point in his career. I don't see him coming to any Canadian team. A young everyday shutdown dman and a 2nd is a pretty high price to pay for a 36 year old 3C rental that you'll have for like 5-6 games + playoffs.

McLeod is a very good prospect for the Oilers. He has been developing really nicely. Koskinen has been really good since Smith came back. IF you look at his numbers since Smith returned and he went back to splitting the starting role, he's been one of the better goalies in the league. Koskinen is not a bonafide #1, so its no wonder he took it on the chin when he played all 15 games or whatever it was to start the season. Its a great duo for the time being, I don't see how Bernier improves that at all.

Canucks trade makes no sense. We don't need Hamonic. We already have a crowded right side with Barrie, Larsson, Bear and Bouchard. From what I've watched of Hamonic this season, he's for sure not playing above Barrie, Larsson, or Bear, so again, no place for him. Pearson has been a nice fit for Vancouver, but seeing as he's more of a middle 6 winger, I don't think its a guarantee that he clicks with the Oilers. Holland was pretty clear he'd make a move for a high impact player. In addition, hes a UFA. Not trying to pay a high price for average rentals with a division rival.

All in all, I don't think any of these deals make any sense.
