Puljujarvi is worth way more. Like dealing for a goalie or a dman. No draft pick outside the 1st round would be worth it.

What is Mayfield worth? He has no offense but is good defensively.

1 year rental though. Samurkov could be better than Mayfield when he's done developing. That's all

Cost more than that to get rid of Lucic. Only Calgary sees that boat anchor as a positive. Pittsburg is not taking any of that cap hit.

You're right about Debrusk. Oilers don't have the money. They would need to move alot out. They want to sign Kane and they have a few RFAs to deal with. Maybe if Keith retired but can't see it.

I'm not sure why people think Barrie is a cap dump. He's is a moderately priced Dman who can move the puck and is a pp quarterback. Even though he's not a shutdown dman he's valuable. 2 fourths won't cut it.

Weaponzing Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>Well that’s the thing though, isn’t it? Again, im not going to outright say “he’s a dump”, because maybe he isn’t, but do you not find it weird that the past two oilers contracts were the best he could get? It’s as if GM’s suddenly realized that a defenceman’s best attribute should be playing defence!
Again, I’ve got no horse in the race here, and maybe I’m wrong, but I certainly wouldn’t be offering up any sort of asset to the Oilers for him.</div></div>
I don't think it's the only contract he could get. I think he liked the fit on the team and didn't want to move around again. There would be a few teams around the league that would trade for him.

Weaponzing Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>I'm just throwing this out there, and I could be wrong, but after a down offensive year in Toronto, the best deal Barrie could get was 1 years $3.75 mil. Then, after his BEST year offensively, the best deal he could get was 3 x $4.5.
Again, I could be completely off base with that, and maybe, for whatever reason, he just really loves freezing his balls off in Edmonton, but there hasn't appeared to be a lineup for him at any point over the past few years, so I would (extremely politely) disagree with the above statement.</div></div>
Barrie definitely has value. He might not be Norris caliber but he is a far ways away from a cap dump. He's very useful puck moving defenseman and his cap hit is reasonable.

Just for fun dont take it serious
Draisaitl is definitely not just good because of Mcdavid. When Mcdavid was out Drai played even better. As an Oiler fan I wouldn't take that trade as Scheifele is not nearly as useful as Drai plus bouchard will be a very good right shot D for years to come. Helleybuck was the difference in the series last year but I think he peaked there and is on a downward trend on career trajectory.
