Tad rediculous, don’t know why you wrote a short novel trying to justify this. Did you want the whole league while you’re at it? Killorn has an NTC so thats no happening for sure. You may as well of included a palat for crosby deal

If the High Asking Price for Pacioretty Stays
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Chigurrhh</b></div><div>Trading Brassard doesn't make sense, especially to a non-playoff team.
Penguins, a cap strapped team have him for cheap for just one season. This allows them to play a top 6 center on the third line. He was also quite good there towards the end of the season before his groin injury.
Removing him forces Riley Sheahan, who is a fourth line center, into the third spot. He produces like a fourth line guy and is not good enough to be a third line center on a cup team. Matt Cullen is also 41 and coming off a down year. Ideally, he is not full time center on this team. Left wing on the forth line with penalty killing duties is more ideal.
Brassard is only signed for one season. What use does Montreal have for him? They aren't a playoff team. A huge part of the appeal of Brassard right now is his small cap hit. That doesn't help the Habs either.
Also, this is giving up a lot for just a one year rental of Pacioretty, without Montreal even retaining salary. The team currently as all top four defensemen locked up for the next few years. Shipping off Maatta, whose contract is becoming better each year as he improves as a player is probably ill-advised.</div></div>
Not sure if I agree with this trade... However, I know for sure I don't agree with what you just said...
1. Riley Sheahan played extremely well with Kessel on the third line and had a better rating then Brassard. Saying hes a fourth liner is definitely a *pre penguins comment*
2. Matt Cullen is Definitely a "full time center" Guy had more points then our entire 4th line all year (Rowney, dea/Zar, reaves) And has one of the most consistent 50%+ faceoff percentages in the league.
3. Maatta has not gotten better defensively. Still slow. Works well in our own end but will get burned in any race. COSTLY!
4. Victor Mete will be ALREADY a better defenceman than maatta.

Overpay to Carolina. Skinner is a UFA next year and you sauced them a 90 goal scorer, a goalie that they will use as a starter and a player who put up 50 points 2 years ago (with sid but whatever)

Many analysts are actually speculating this. Makes sense too. Do you really want a Oleksiak/Johnson Pairing? Creates balance

At this point, the trade with PIT doesn't make much sense. We need to shed salary and by us taking on Beaulieu's contract we save 600k but we need to shed sheary for a pick and not more salary

Rust Move and What it means (Discussion)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>ZAR is left handed he can play the LW.
Rust has also played LW. It's not such a huge disadvantage playing your opposite side as a winger. Defense is different due to stick position. On defense when you are right handed playing on the Left side your stick is basically backwards. Since defense men are suppose to stay in their zone, that makes them clearing with back hands and having to move to clear naturally. Winger doesn't really work that way and they can be almost anywhere on the ice.
I think it's in Sheahan best interest to resign. Most of his points came with Kessel on his wing and he's only 1 year out of putting up no points in detroit. No one has forgot that. He should sign a 1 year deal. Let his play do the talking, and then hit FA. He'd make more and he wouldn't kill his value. He leaves, his value could tank before he hits FA and all he gets is a 2 year deal.</div></div>
Only problem was when I saw Rust play the left side his play was significantly worse, sure it could be worked on but seems like a steep price to pay for a guy you want to switch wings...

Rust Move and What it means (Discussion)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FLPensFan</b></div><div>ZAR is a LW, not a RW. But, I really can't envision them wanting to pay Rust 3.5M to play on the 4th line. He will never live up to his contract getting only 4th line minutes and PK duty. Rust has Hornqvist, Kessel, and Sprong ahead of him on the RW. If they move him back to LW, which he can play but he loses maybe 25% effectiveness, then you have Guentzel, Hagelin, Sheary, Rust, and ZAR.
I think Sheary is a goner at this point, along with Hunwick if they can move him. Moving both for cap space would allow Penguins to keep Sheahan and Oleksiak, and still possibly have room for Duclair and/or Jack Johnson.</div></div>
Only reason i said ZAR as RW is because they threw him on RW a few times which confused me however hes a natural center so it will be interesting to see what they do

How so? Edmonton gets a test run at a 50pt scorer for a 3rd...???? Avalanche need D and get a 4th for taking a cap hit. They could and probably would use Ruhwedel... And Skinner wont get much more than that... UFA next year and not defensively sound.

I want to explore the option of Trading Brassard to Montreal, read a report that they are possibly interested in him if they cant land ROR. Feel like with a team like Montreal, we can not only get good value for him but probably dump cap on them without losing much in trade value from their end.
