laff
doesn't make sense to:
A pay deangelo 5 million, on one good offensive year and one mediocre defensive yr.
B have Krug and Deangelo when their biggest weakness is D zone coverage and physicality
C trade Strome for what won't be a first, and replace him with a Haula, who at that term, will require more money

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>redwingsfan04</b></div><div>That’s no where close on the Detroit deal. You can keep Ladd and Komarov unless you’re willing to offer us something of value.</div></div>
Mitch Vande Somple is very good Player, and if it weren't for Sebastian Aho, he'd probably be kept. with consistent year over year progression in all aspects of his game, he should be NHL ready in the next 2 years and has a top 4 ceiling. JHS is still very skilled very dynamic player, he would fit very will on a Dylan Larkin line. the kid is an NHL talent and with a chip on his shoulder he is going to light it up wherever he goes.
Komorav is not an eat. he's a solid pker, can play both wings and center effectively, is a very good locker room presence, is popular with younger players, he's a decent bottom 6 player and at 750,000 retained, the cap hit is in line with where it should be for the position.

Latest Rumours
ARI doesn't have the cash on hand to take that many contracts back. the whole point of them trading OEL would be to lower their Salary expense and get futures. Eriksson can't be part of that trade, virtanen is kind of a bust, and the prospect needs to be Podkolzin or Hoglander and a 1st

lol you should because Cirelli is better and more valuable than both. Tampa, if they trade Cirelli, are going to want NHL ready players, Chytil is, Krastov isn't. Rangers need to solidify their Center ice position, with NHL quality players, to facilitate development of their top tier winger prosepcts

I don't see it as a cap dump, and most GMs in the league wont either if they are rebuilding. he's great locker room guy, good mentor to young foreign players.

dumping salaries
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>redwingsfan04</b></div><div>You might be able to get a 2nd Leddy but it won't be from Detroit since we're rebuilding and need to keep as many picks as possible. I think his value is more realistically a 3rd.
I know Komarov is good defensively but I still think you'd need to add a small sweetener to dump him even with retained salary.
That looks like a pretty bad trade for LA to me. Carter has two years left on his deal and is still playing at an NHL level. Ladd has 3 years left on his deal and is at an AHL level. You're also asking LA to retain on Carter. In compensation, you're giving them a 3rd and 5th which are relatively meaningless picks. If this base of a trade were to work, I think the Islanders would need to throw in a 1st.</div></div>
I adjusted the Carter trade to include more pieces going back to LAK. at the end of the day, I think Blake will deal Carter to a contender and is willing to take on salary dumps. I think this is as far as I would go to get him though.
I changed Leddy to a trade to Calgary. he is def worth a second and if they retained salary probably an additional third. they don't have strong skaters on the back end besides Gio. and if I was the CGY GM, I would rather have leddy for 2 years than Gustafsson for the long term commitment he will probably want.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>A third and fifth are rather meaningless picks. Kings would much better just spending money on NHLer maybe via free agency with that money they would be wasting on Ladd.
In effect with retention, you have the Kings spending 7.5 on nothing.....money that could be spend on NHLers.</div></div>
they've been pretty clear that they're going to do a rebuild. they've spent the last 2 years shedding salary and amassing picks.

build draft picks and give Carter the opportunity to be on a contending team. I think LAK will be in the mindset to take on salary dumps for picks

as much as I like bailey, they don't need him. his 5 million dollar cap space is more valuable than he his in the coming years. if they trade bailey, they can probably fit Hall into the future as well. hall Eberle and Barzal well just be un fuggin real

he's skilled player and his value is low right now. maybe they end up moving on, but trading him at his lowest value isn't smart when you have control over him for 5 more years

pass on strome, thanks tho. Lias andersson as a 2C. that's pretty funny. maybe if you're allowed to strap rockets to his skates that MIGHT work. at best hes a defensive 3rd line player w some playmaking ability.

they were high on him before this season. he's a prototypical 2C. at worst he'll be a 3C. he's a pretty safe player and that's really key at Center. not for sale rn
