LINDHOLM 8X8 5
I mean, it's a lot to give up from Columbus, so maybe a slight reduction is needed, but this would be huge for them. If Columbus were to get Lindholm, they'd instantly become a playoff contender. Also works perfectly, because Lindholm could start out as the 1C and then slide to 2C as Fantilli develops. I'd definitely offer less, but Lindholm is a perfect trade target for Cbj

Not enough for Zegras, might be somewhat close if he was the only piece, but Anaheim would still reject it and Jones/Colangelo aren't just throw ins

That's giving up way to much on Toronto's end. Take out Niemela and it becomes reasonable, no chance he's moved for just Schenn

Erik Karlsson to VGK 3-Team
They'll have to give up a lot more, especially if they expect Arizona to eat 50% over 4-5 years, that alone would cost a 1st rounder, not a 4th

Might take a few more picks or swapping in Rossi, but would definitely help Minny improve of at centre and gain a more offensive dman

Leafs Deadline moves
I was thinking Kerfoot could be flipped possibly with retention in a three team trade.
I didn't realize Schenn was expected to return that much, but that's fair considering his cap hit is low too. Sending a 3rd or 2nd instead could definitely be done.
For JVR maybe they make a move more like Anderson + 1st or 2nd. If he fits cap wise it probably makes more sense for the Leafs to hold Engvall anyways

If you take Chytil out then Chicago will trade him somewhere else, they'll get a much better offer than 1st, 2nd, and Goodrow

Chychrun goes to Sabres
Hard to see the Sabres (or any potential lottery team) giving up their 2023 1st. This would be rushing the rebuild when they're still outside the playoff picture; value isn't bad, but makes more sense to stay the course if your the Sabres. Arizona could accept depending how high they are on Kulich; they'd likely want one more quality piece though (either upgrade the 2nd to a 1st or swap out one of the lesser prospects for Leinonen or Levi)

Bo to Leafs
Honestly it's a bit off, but gonna depend a lot on what everyone else is willing to offer. The Leafs are much more likely to upgrade to a 1st than upgrade to Niemela, but I have a hard time seeing the Leafs getting a trade done for Horvat without Niemela involved (Liljegren would as well but makes less sense for both teams since the Leafs are the one in win now mode).

Leafs wouldn't give up Robertson. Also cost in general is a little high if Toronto doesn't even need STL to retain any cap. More likely the Leafs give up someone like Voit, Hirvonen, or Minten

Chychrun to Toronto
Leafs could upgrade from SDR to Hirvonen, Abruzzese, etc. or include additional picks if needed. Much of it depends on Muzzin's health as if he's out ROS he wouldn't need to be added which would reduce the price for Toronto.

Not even close to fair. I'd say Nylander and Chychrun are close to cancelling each other out, so adding a bunch of high value futures on Toronto's end and a bunch of spare parts from the Coyotes is a joke. Just because the quantity is balanced doesn't mean the quality is even close

What it will probably take
Almost no chance the Blues get Chychrun. If they did it would have to involve a 3rd team to take Scandella, Leddy or another D considering every player on their roster with a large cap hit outside of O'Reilly has a NTC (and wouldn't waive it to go to Arizona. Possible if it looked like this (also doubt STL gives up both Bolduc and Neighbours):
Blues:
In - Chychrun
Out - Scandella, Mikkola, Bolduc, 1st, 4th
Arizona:
In - Mikkola, Bolduc, 1st
Out - Chychrun
Ottawa:
In - Scandella, 4th

Varlamov to Edmonton Koskinen and futures back
Was thinking Gibson would cost too much especially with Anaheim playing well. Could potentially reduce to Lavoie or from a 1st to a 2nd for value, but chose what I think NYI would force to give up Varlamov and take on Koskinen (as a back up Koskinen would be fine for the Isles and don’t need to win this year anyways). Varlamov would give Edmonton a proven #1 and could see being available and interested in moving due to Sorokin and the Isles position in the standings.

Team Canada Roster Prediction
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>I agree with everything you’ve said. Nurse likely gets a shot to make the roster but could end up as a scratch. Chabot is super underrated playing in Ottawa and Theodore is so good.
I can’t see O’reilly or Bergeron playing over anyone here. Maybe stammer as he’s aging a bit and they might want to just use his spot for someone who can shut it down with coots.
Huberdeau 100% is a better option at 1LW. Just swap him and point.</div></div>
For forwards would you swap Point-Huberdeau and Couturier-Scheifele to make a L3 shutdown line of Point-Couturier-Marner (could also put Marner with Crosby and Stone on the shutdown line). Realistically the Crosby be line could take the other checking minutes so the 4th line could play less and contribute to special teams (for example Stamkos on the PP).
Then you’d have:
Huberdeau-McDavid-MacKinnon
Marchand-Crosby-Stone
Point-Couturier-Marner
Barzal-Scheifele-Stamkos
(Bergeron, O’Reilly)

Honestly, the idea of a line with the speed and versatility of McDavid, MacKinnon, and Point just seemed too exciting to resist. Swapping Point with Huberdeau would definitely be an option, this team will have plenty at forward. I also think since they have so many penalty killers already there may not be a need for Bergeron or O’Reilly outside of being extras.
On D I think the right side is set and very strong. If Toronto’s powerplay does well I think Rielly makes it, otherwise potentially just as an extra. Something I think working against Chabot, Pulock, and Pelech is their lack of experience playing alongside elite forwards, that may mean they get in as an extra to kill penalties, but I think this favours players like Nurse, Rielly, Toews, or even Morrissey. The same could be said about Nurse, but one of the main strengths of Chabot is his ability to play significant minutes, but with the strength of the blue line that’s not as necessary, I’m just much higher on Nurse than Chabot. Chychrun is a difficult case because he’s very talented but he’s looked bad this year on an awful team, I agree he’s likely better suited for 2026.

Eichel package - Tuch or Patrick in order to keep Krebs
One of the 1sts to drop significantly if Eichel doesn't play playoffs (whether or not they make it). Vegas should add in Tuch or Patrick to take out Krebs. Still gives Buffalo a young top 6 level forward under team control, but especially Tuch is better for Vegas financially. Patrick would also be replaceable since Stephenson could drop to 3C and Buffalo could value him quite a lot. I'd reduce the pick that doesn't have conditions to a 3rd if Patrick is included.

Picks are worth a lot with the tight cap right now so I don’t think they’d have to pay that much to get rid of Johnson. Also Johnson only has 1 year left, if Monahan doesn’t rebound his contract has more years and dollars. Also considering the risk of Monahan I’d rather have Newhook. I think it’s more likely it’s Monahan for Johnson and a 1st

I think a 2nd evens the value a bit, but I think Toronto would need another pick, leaning towards a 1st, with one dropping to a later pick if Forsberg doesn’t resign.
