Apparently, it's seeing what a bad idea you had that's tough.</div></div>
lmao how is moving a player who is useless and signed for three more years (poolman) for a potential comeback (myers) candidate a bad trade? poolman would require at least a second to move away to dump his hit

Kings Interest
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canuckel_head</b></div><div>I feel really mixed about this. The potential of both Grans and Turcotte vs. the potential for Rathbone (also COOL name) and the wicked valued contract of Garland, it feels like something is missing...maybe a 3rd or 4th round pick from LA to Vancouver? I dont know.</div></div>
yeah, i was just making a baseline move. To me, although I really like the idea of Rathbone, it seems like he's stuck due to ur already having Hughes at LHD being the offense dman. If we can swap him for a RHD of similar value, I could be interested. For Garland, I don't like moving him either, but it seems like that may be how they move forward. At this point, I would rather move Boeser, assuming the packages are similar.

I wonder if you could swap Miller for Horvat in that deal.. Horvat is a clutch playoff player (albeit not a big sample)

yep fair enough. I saw something on twitter the other day suggesting that maybe Calgary looks at him, but it may have been a joke since your roster if half canucks at this point

toronto rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>Oh dear... you already mentioned correctly that Ladd had two years left on his deal at the time of that trade. And now you keep trying to count just one year in the math when the full cost of the cap eat is two years worth of his salary. This is really simple, man. I've showed the math twice now. That's more than enough for me (and everyone else here, surely), so I'm out. Be well and prosper.</div></div>
lmao yeah it is double that in money, but that money is spread over two ****ing years, not just this one. So the salary for the second year will be dealt with then. Man you are ridiculously incompetent lol

toronto rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>1- Dude. I showed my math. Again, two years of Ladd's 5.5M = 11M. Plus Marleau = 17.25M.
2- You randomly selected picks that would cost several million more than 18M to pay for. But yeah, you have a good one, too.</div></div>
do you not understand how the salary cap works?
I have 18M to spend THIS YEAR. Pretending that the Ladd, Marleau, and Gostisbehere contracts all aligned this year, that would cost 16.25M THIS YEAR. And with that, I still have 1.75M left over. The year after that, sure I would still have Ladd and Gostisbehere on the books, but at that point, I have another 18M in cap space for that year (or whatever the numbers would actually be).
Plus those 3 cap dumps acquired more picks than what I traded for at the beginning.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>1- Ladd = 2x5.5 = 11M
Marleau = 1x6.25 = 6.25M
6.25M + 11M = 17.25M
So yeah, sorry, I was off by less than 1M. My bad. The point stands.
2- Regardless of what he was sent off for or why, he is still a very useful player. He may have been a cap removal for the Flyers, but he is not a cap eat for Arizona. The fact that they got him along with sweet prizes is a sign that Philly was dumb and panicked, not that Ghost was a straight cap eat.
Correct. Jarvis was taken 13th, which is very much mid.
Mid is lower than high.</div></div>
all im saying in regards to ladd and marleau is that 5.5 + 6.25 is only 11.75 per year, which is much less than the 18M I have in cap space on this team.
In regards to the Gostisbehere situation, there is a chance with the minimal rise in salary cap this upcoming year, another team may panic like the flyers. All im saying is that the return picks that I almost randomly selected are well within the realm of possibility. I'm done with debating though, so enjoy what is left of your day!
