Kyle Connor
Honestly, he’s worth so much more to the jets organization than his actual trade value. He committed long term to a city that doesn’t have many players interested in being here long term, oh right he’s a perennial 30+ goal scorer as well.
Any team would have to over pay massively, especially a division rival. His price is wayyy to steep for COL’s liking.
You’d have to give up a dumb amount to get him. At that point it’s not even worth it.

I agree that these three players would make a big difference to the Nucks. Much harder to play against.

CAPITALS FIRE SALE
Why on earth would Montreal do that trade? I wouldn't trade out 1st round pick this year for Backstrom. That's terrible.

CAPITALS FIRE SALE
The Caps aren't giving the Leafs Radko Gudas for a 4th round pick.
Call up Djoos, Boyd, Sgarbossa, and Moulson. Let the new kids develop in Hershey. On the above team, pairs are probably Kempny-Siegenthaler as a very good shutdown pair, Djoos-Jensen for average puck movement, Kulikov-Seabrook/Ceci as a veteran third pair to keep things under control. That doesn't make them a contender, but it's not the worst in the league this year, even before other teams sell at the deadline. Goaltending is average. Forwards end up very, very bad, but also not quite the worst, before other teams sell.
The Caps already have 65 standings points, after 45 games. Last year the last place team finished with 64, after 82. The above team is not as bad as last year's post-deadline Senators. The above team could play on a 70 point pace the rest of the way. That leaves them in a wild card, so draft position shouldn't motivate any of these trades.
So overall the Caps probably don't do most of this? Even though it'd be a ton of picks in a deep draft and it could turn into a lot of good players for a long time.

CAPITALS FIRE SALE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>burg</b></div><div>I know this is a dream and all but still... why would Washington trade so many of their assets. Ok Holtby I get, but trading for Vasili Podkolzin. That’s messed up. Take out podkolzin and maybe put someone else in. The Montreal trade I like, they get a real number one centre, the first since the likes of Vincent Damphousse. Some trades I like, some I don’t.</div></div>
Okay. I googled Podkolzin. Interesting. So the Caps are buying a recent 10th overall pick who has zero points in the first half of his regular season this year in a European league, by taking on $20M of bad contracts? Yeah. That's messed up.

buffalo already has a top 5 goalie prospect in Luukkonen. so makes no sense to do that trade.

Burg is 100% correct that Demko is goalie of future for Canucks and will not be traded. He also has long history with his Travis Green his coach with Utica as well.

This sometimes happens during pickup hockey games when everyone except the goalies wants to play either LW or LD... No worries, these issues usually work themselves out come game time.

I really don’t see why either team would do this now. Colorado is in a fine position to succeed now without Price, so I don’t think it makes sense to give up one of their best prospects in addition to a future 1st rounder.

Sorokin to LA

Honestly, I’m not in favor of trading Sorokin. I think we just move on from Greiss and stick Ilya in the rotation with Varly but if we had to, Minnesota might not be a bad team to send him to. Dubnyk is regressing quickly and their recent success has been without him (although Zucker has been a large part of that too). He could end up the starter in Minnesota pretty quickly
