1. Seabs stated before he wants to be part of the hawks organization even after he retires, Plus Van and Edm is not really the same.
2. I'm sure he can DVR McDavid and watch him sunday night, I don't why would he want to play with him. Playing in CAN and especially in town that has nothing but hockey, can be very overwhelming for a guy that in decline. He will be criticized night in and night out, by press, by fans, by kids and pets. I don't know if he wants that.
If I were to bet, I'd say he waives his NMC for Seattle draft, but they won't pick him, he will retires in 1-2 years after that. (or he might go on LTIR in few years for the symptoms of old age)

How does a team that finished regular season top 6 or so in scoring, struggle to put 4 solid lines?
I mean of course you can have better 4 lines, you can say that about any team in the league. CHI had major problems in the Defense, PK and Goaltending areas (especially when Crow was injured).
Crow only played 38 games last year and 28 year before that, that is huge reduction from his usual 58 or so. His concussions might be huge factor this year as well and I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire at the end of this season. (head injuries are nothing to joke about, and he probably is wondering if this is worth for him at all, he made his $ already, and he has 2 SCups).
As much as I would have loved to see Lee, Pavelsky or even Gusev join the Hawks top 6, I understand that Goaltending is the major concern.
But to be fair, the players they got from Europe this year could fill top 6 role nicely. Kubalik can snipe and pass and could be playing with Kane. Wedin has good shot, but plays good 2-way game and intense, so he might be nice 3rd liner. Plus Shaw, nothing needs to be said about him. Oh year and Carpenter is another 2-way player, PK, faceoffs etc... nce 4th liner.

He is not bad at all, considering he spend no time with Kane or Cat, he still produced decent points. I don't think CHI is on a market for anyone else this summer, so I don't really mind him playing this season, and I'm sure CHI can easily trade him at TDL. But I'm sure there is a team that might take him now.

If I were Crow, I'd go on LTIR and retire next year. I wouldn't risk ruining the rest of your life with another concussion. He made money, he has SCups, enjoy your life now.
Or maybe sign as a backup for like $2m, but even if that happens, I don't see him going for more than 2 years of so, he is already 35.

Chicago Blackhawks signed Robin Lehner (1 Year / $5,000,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div>If he only wanted 1 year, Isles should've offered him 1 year.</div></div>
It just sounds like he wanted out. Has nothing to do with term. CHI wanted 1 year, since that's when Crowford is up.
Crow had 3 concussions already, don't know if all of them were major ones or not, but you don't want to get a permanent brain damage, so I wouldn't be surprised if Crow will only play 20 games or so. And if he wants to get on LTIR, I would totally understand it. Most people only get 1 brain at best, so you must do what is necessary to protect it.

(MTL/CHI) - Shaw and 2021 7th round pick for 2020 2nd, 7th round pick, and 2021 3rd round pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>I will put $100 on it right now that they are a bottom 10 team in the league next year. Hawks have virtually no chance of making the playoffs unless they do something crazy in FA Frenzy</div></div>
I'd actually prefer Hawks don't do anything crazy in FA. Even if they didn't do anything, they would still have a good change to make to playoffs, as they were pretty good from February on.
They are top 6 in offensive production last year and not much will change next year. The problem areas are Goals Against and PK. They got Maatta who should help with PK, blocking shots and just be a stay home shutdown guy. The got DeHaan, who will improve overall D. They got some of the top D prospects in the NHL right now in Joki, Boqvist, Boudin, Mitchell. They got 3rd OA pick in Dach, who can potentially play next year. They also got top Swiss league player Kubalik and nice Swedish player Wedin (multiple teams were after those two guys). Also Crow should be healthy this year, and even if he is not, they have young G prospect, who just won World Championship with Finns (shutdown Russian and only allowed 1 goal against Canada). And now they got a bit tougher and PK help with Shaw. And all that without giving anything up.

Just hope those Shaw injuries don't come back to haunt you guys. At the end of the day, Montreal got to see Shaw's full potential and Chicago stills gets his prime years out of him.</div></div>
Well injuries is part of hockey, anyone can have it at any time, no one really knows. Yes its a good trade if MTL is freeing space for someone like Lee or Duchene.
One thing I'd disagree with you is that MTL didn't get to see Shaw's full potential, because unfortunately MTL didn't make it into Playoffs last few years, thats where he can be a true game-changer.

(MTL/CHI) - Shaw and 2021 7th round pick for 2020 2nd, 7th round pick, and 2021 3rd round pick
I want to thank MTL for safekeeping Shaw for us. (I would have preferred if he didn't get banged up few times on your watch, but he's mostly OK).
CHI landed Shaw for 3 years and got Debrincat and Krys as compensation, and now got Shaw back at 27 years old, wow I think its a good deal.
$3.9 hit is not horrible, considering healthy he is 15-20 goals scorer.
Plus you don't really get Shaw for his 15 goal in regular season, you get him for his 5 in playoffs.
Now CHI can send AA to anyone who wants him for 3rd rounder or so, regardless of Dach's progress.

CHI didn't get rid of those guys for no reason, most of them were let go after SC win, and when SC bonuses were kicking in next year they had no choice. Yeah, it happens a lot, when you win 3 cups, you know :)
But good thing is that shows that CHI likes what they have/develop and also shows that CHI is world class organization and players want to come back to play for them.
When players say hell no, I'm not coming back to that nightmare, that when you have to really worry about. Even Panarin mentioned a few times that he would have loved to get back, but will not happen of course.

<strong>Ten 20+ goal scorers is top heavy to you? </strong>
There are teams with 1-2 over that span my dude.</div></div>
My dude, you, like most TOR fans have no idea what it takes to win a Cup, understandably so.
Scoring goals in regular season doesn't mean sh*t. Speed is important, but are you using that speed to score goals? or you using this speed to Forecheck and Backcheck?
Penguins were relentless in D, plus their forwards were relentless all 4 lines, forechecking and backchecking. Plus you have leadership and respect on that team. TOR has no such thing, you got bunch of individuals who worry about their contracts. You have hardheaded egomaniac behind the bench and you got an idiot for a GM.
How do you not sign your future, your two superstars at the same time, for the same term and with same salary? (ala Toews and Kane). How do you let Nylander situation get out of hand, either pay him or trade him. How do you bring Tavares when you have to sign your young superstars? Why bring Marleau, how many cups did he win? Why Marner isn't signed before AM? and why he is not a Captain? CHI gave Toews his C when he was like 19 years old and he grew into it? Tavares came and got an A, why? I think if Marner has any brain he will leave TOR, not to punish them, but rather to save them.
