<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boodin</b></div><div>Idk if downgrading goalies makes much sense for us, but who knows how forsburg bounces back from injury. not completely opposed to the idea.</div></div>
No way the Sens should do this. Massive downgrade in goal and giving up a decent prospect who just needs an opportunity on top of that? Forsberg is not a cap dump lol

Just trade Kubalik

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vols94</b></div><div>Not tying up the last retention spot for those 2 duds</div></div>
Forsberg is much better than Kähkönen

Thomson has 0.60 PPG in the AHL the last 2 years and already has shown he could play in the NHL

They are not duds lol

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsFan61</b></div><div>Joseph has enough left in him that a team with space could take him on without any major losses to the Sens. I’d take him in Montreal with a 3rd attached.</div></div>
That's because you have known and have seen Joseph for a long time. You know he's not a "cap dump" like CF has stupidly built up. Some are even asking a 1st or two 2nds lol

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PLDGEY</b></div><div>Id rather be paid a pick to move Kubalik than pay a pick to move Joseph</div></div>
Just too logic.

- Ottawa needs PK and ES 2-way ability more than PP scoring. Joseph brings that more than Kubalik

- Kubalik returns a pick, Joseph costs a pick to move

- Kubalik is UFA-to-be and walks as Ottawa wouldn't have the cap to sign him anyway (they need to replace Tarasenko instead)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TCMonkey</b></div><div>Pinto deserves much better than that, even on a one year deal $2M would be a bargain.</div></div>
The Athletic evaluated his extension at 1.78 AAV on a 2 years contract. If the 2nd year is worth 2.5, the 1st year would be worth 1.25. Nothing outrageous, it's a 1 year bridge deal and Pinto doesn't even have leverage. He'll make it back and beyond as soon as the following year.

-Edmonton passes because they need the Klefbom &amp; Smith LTIR contracts to make their current cap situation work; you'd probably also need to take back a contract like Tyson Barrie or Warren Foegele to make the money work. I also would be shocked if they gave up Bouchard - but then again, if there was a bidding war for Chych, I could see them putting him up to get the deal over the top. I'd argue that you probably don't get Broberg if you get Bouchard, though. Lotta words to say there's something here but it needs some fine-tuning.

-Devils are not giving up Nemec for a goalie. I think Vejmelka would be huge for them, and I think he's worth a 1st &amp; another asset for a contender, but more of a B-tier prospect as the asset - not the 2nd overall pick from last year.

-I'd be shocked if Zaitsev allows a trade to Arizona, but pretending he does: I think this package is a little heavy. I could by Zaitsev &amp; a 1st, or a pair of 2nds &amp; another lesser asset, for a fully retained Ghost; I think all three is overkill. Also, I could be wrong but I was under the impression that Ottawa was more in need of RHD than an LHD.

-Vegas doesn't need to move either of those contracts now so they hang on to them. Brossoit &amp; Hill's deals expire at the end of the year, so I assume they go into '23-24 with a Lehner/Thompson combo and keep those extra picks.

-The last thing the Islanders need is another gritty grinder power forward like Ritchie. Value's a little inflated, too - I could see someone giving up a 3rd for Ritchie fully retained, but that's the ceiling. He's a bottom 6 guy at best, asking anything more is going to give you problems (just ask the Leafs.)

-I actually think this deal is bad for Arizona. Boeser will be 26 next month and only has 2 years left on his deal; odds are he just walks at the end of his contract without every playing any meaningful games in the desert. Hayton is an interesting player with a good pedigree that should be moved more in a deal for another younger player with team control, not an older player who leaves as a UFA in 2 years.

-Josh Brown isn't good. Take away the 3rd and the 5th and that's probably his value.

-Valimaaki was a waiver claim this year who's barely getting 15 minutes a night on a bad Coyotoes team. Why is he getting a 2nd+ from the Wild?

-Capitals pass because I'm pretty sure Hagelin's cap relief is what makes their cap work when everyone's healthy. Taking his $2.75M in relief away will make it nearly impossible to activate Connor Brown this year, I think - Caps fans can override me if I'm wrong, but I just don't think their cap works removing Hagelin's deal.
