Post deadline Borocop what u think
The only change I would make would be to keep Dadonov and White together. Let Dado get some chemistry with someone. I would move C.Brown to the top line (that would be a menace of a line to play against).

Gudbranson could be traded also, but would also probably require retained money.
The rest are balances in larger trades. No value to us, no value to others, just keeps the cap hit balanced, as well as the 50 contract limit.</div></div>
Stepan and Gudbranso are assets with 50% retention. Galchenyuk, Reilly, and Pacquette are good scratches that teams could use in case of injury in the playoffs. Anisimov and Reilly could just be put on Taxi or whatever. The point of this wasn't the value of the guys in the trade more about bringing up younger guys once all these vets move on.

dunn trades for the sens
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensibleguy</b></div><div>Sanderson is likely to only spend one season at UND, which is best case scenario. He's not NHL ready, so he needs at least a few months in the AHL, best case scenario, longer possibly. After he does make it to the NHL, it will be a season and a half before he's really a stable enough NHL defenceman to play on the 2nd pair minutes, which puts his 2nd pair timeline at about TDL 22/23, or opening day 23/24. That's two seasons away, and someone needs to play 2nd pair minutes, compently, until then.
I don't mind getting a Marcus Pettersson, and have him push Sanderson to take the 2nd pair spot away, and still be around during Sanderson's ELC contract. If Sanderson signs this offseason, then they can have a higher cap hit defenceman that's signed through 23/24, the third year of Sanderson's ELC, again, if he signs this offseason.
Pettersson is signed through 24/25, which means one of Chabot or Pettersson gets traded at the 23/24 TDL.
There's a chance Dorion trades for Vince Dunn, because they aren't very good at professional scouting, so unfortunately it's possible. If they pull it off, Dunn will be coming in hot...</div></div>
So even if Sanderson takes until 2022-23 to be ready for top 4 minutes on the left side, Braanstrom should be ready by then and Wolanin is good for bottom pairing minutes. Sign another vet for a bit of depth (keep Coburn even) and should be fine. Keeping the 2nd is more important for the Sens going forward so....that means Dunn will be a Sen very soon #assetmanagement

I just don't see the reason to put that many resources into a guy that will be on our third paring next year (Braanstrom and Sanderson). Not saying your value is off but just don't see the fit.

I just see Dorion having to put him on the Taxi Squad so DJ cannot play him. I don't think that he gets claimed. There is a reason TBL had to pay to get rid of his contract.

This likely isn't a playoff year TBH. This year should be figuring out what we have with youngsters and another high pick. Need to stop playing the vets that wont be apart of the future (AA, BC, CP etc.)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>As bad as Anisimov has been, Paquette has been the worst player on this team.
Like I said, I'd be fine with Coburn staying in, but he had a really bad game, and stapling Wolanin to the bench after one game seems ridiculous. If it's really a "play well to keep playing" situation, it shouldn't be Mike Reilly coming out of the lineup either. He played relatively well imo.</div></div>
I think Wolanin needs to be in. The Sens know exactly who Coburn and Reilly are (gone next year or a decent 7th guy), but they need to know what they have in Wolanin going forward. Give him some leashe and see if he can be a good bottom pairing guy going forward (which I think he could be).

I think the Sens move on from Stepan. I think White slides into our future 3C and a combo of our 2021 1st round, Stutzle, Brown and/or Norris are the future top 6 C. I could see the sens resigning Gudbranson but I hope they only do this if they can get rid of Zaitsev. Regardless, they should trade Gudbranson and resign him in the offseason so they don't have to protect him in the expansion draft

I think Kylington is worth a look and they can keep Braanstrom in the minors until they trade out their other guys (Gudbranson, Reilly, etc.) If Kylington sucks then put him back on waivers or put him on the Taxi. Would much much much rather see Kylingotn on the team instead of Coburn or Reilly (who I think the Sens have above Braanstrom now)

Don't forget someone will be lost to Seattle. I hope they attach something to Zaitzev to get rid of him. That would lead to a 2021-22 D core of Chabot- Branstrom, Sanderson-Brown, Wolanin -Zub/JBD

I think with the Sens lines there wont be a defacto first line. I think those top 3 lines play ~17 min a night and can be scrambled. With these lines, each rookie/young one is insulated (the third line young guys have seen some NHL time). I think this is the best way to start the season and mix from there depending on chemistry

Final 2020-21 roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>skrymir</b></div><div>Inwant White to succeed, and so do the Sens, but if he has another lack luster season like last year, it makes getting extensions for players like Batherson and Norris harder. If they're outplaying him their agents are going to be asking for north of what he's making. If he's not playing like a top 6 forward he'll upset the salary structure of the team.
Going forward the core of this team will be Tkachuk, Chabot, Stützle, Sanderson, Murray, and likely 2 other forwards. The Sens will want to set up a salary structure where they are the top paid guys and the rest are below that. If White isn't one of the other two forwards (ie out plays one of Norris or Batherson) they may want to walk away from the contract.</div></div>
Just expose him to Seattle rather than buy him out. Seattle would be really smart to give him a shot and bet on a bounce back. Also at this salary being the 7th best forward at that price who can play wing and centre isn't bad at all

I believe it is insured. I don't agree with your point at all. Eugene Melnyk loves to state how much he is spending against the cap without spending real money. Also keeping Gaborik on the books allows them to hit the cap floor easily (once they sign their RFAs) and don't have to panic sign or trade anyone. Needless to say, Gaborik might be as close to "untouchable" as there is out there for the Sens

Also Gaborik’s deal will cost actual dollars for a non player. The would be anti-cost savings move that the ownership wants.</div></div>
This is the exact deal Melnyk loves. 3 Mill in salary that is 80% covered by insurance (so 600k in actual money payed to him) for almost 5 mill against the cap. Its a Melnyk wet dream

Realistic Roster Matt Murray
I wouldn't even trade Balcers for Murray if I was Ottawa nevermind two 2nds. Murray has bad contract written all over him and Ottawa has good young goalies coming up. OTT is set for goalies next year if Nillson is healthy and if not they should sign someone like Khudobin or Greiss or Dell to play alongside Hogberg for 20-2.

Maybe with Pinto and/or the Isles pick (likely a forward imo, unless Schneider falls that far) and/or one of our early seconds this year knocking on the door. I wouldn't hate Jarvis and Neighbours as suggested here.

Where is the Wolanin love. He has been hurt but I think he is going to be a big part of the team next year, and be a very solid 3rd pairing guy specially if he is paired with a defensive guy. He has to be the most forgotten member of the D
