No one is paying a 2nd round pick for Dvorak. Especially not CHI. Struble is essentially worthless to CHI, as well.

Deal with Oilers
Campbell is so bad - and his contract is even worse - that I don't think this is nearly enough compensation to take him off EDM's hands, even Raddysh and retention on Perry weren't included.

Tampa Needs a Goalie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Play with too much fire and the puck slides to next year if Tampa has injury struggles all year, then next year with more cap space and health they can reload and the pick drops?
Likely? No. Possible? Yes.</div></div>
TBL is gonna be up against the ceiling one way or another next year, and it is very likely they won't be able to bring back Stamkos without moving someone else important or him taking a big discount. Plus, they don't have the assets to reload. They would have to depend entirely on UFA signings, which, again, if they don't have money to sign Stammer, they aren't gonna have money to sign any difference makers. TBL could absolutely be worse next year and the year after. The reason I mention "the year after" is because that pick came in the Hagel trade, their 2023 pick would have turned into a 2025 pick if it were top 10, and the 2024 1st would turn into a 2026 1st if it is top 10. So we wouldn't be receiving their 2025 pick. But, if they go down hill, they will probably be bad for at least a few years. So, 2025 or 2026 doesn't really matter. It should be a nice pick no matter what, though. Lots of talent coming up in the next few drafts. 2024 is pretty great, 2025 has a lot of promise so far, and I know of a few exciting players in 2026 as well, but the list is pretty small for 2026 at this point.

I totally agree but if a compromise couldn’t be reached, I would definitely accept that deal if I was Davidson.

It's not. Hawks aren't giving up a likely top 40 pick for one year of Gryz. And the Hawks are apparently committed to playing their own young prospects on the left side of their blue line.

Jarnkrok Realistic Value
Under normal circumstances Jarnkrok is easily worth a 3rd round pick however, when you are a cap strapped team that needs to make a move to become cap compliant and there are only and handful of teams that have the space to take him you are not dealing from a position of strength. Add to that the fact that the teams with cap space are all bottom of standings and rebuilding, they don’t have much need for a 31 year old winger. The most the Leafs can optimistically expect is to move him at not additional cost but even that may difficult at this time.

I think he'll be a solid supplemental player on any team. Like Patrick Sharp was to Toews and Kane. But if he's your Toews, then I think you're not going to do well.

Would Chicago do it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>except that by the time a player is 25 /26 they are basically who they are. They rarely develop much more, let alone significantly past that point. Not to mention Raddysh would be getting Jarnkrok's ice time and not the icetime he got in chicago, so about 2 mins less a game and no power play time so his production would drop for that reason alone. That's what I mean when I say at best he'd be the same player because that actually would mean he developed and produced more.
There is no way in hell chicago declines this trade with a 1st involved, hell they dont do it with anything the value of a 2nd coming their way. Luckily the leafs dont either, this doesnt make them better, has a solid chance of making them worse actually and it costs them a high pick for their troubles.</div></div>
Well, then it's for the best that he's not going to TOR now. Raddysh was buried on TBL's depth chart; never got time to develop. He finally got playing time with Chicago last season and started coming into his own. He's good at cleaning up garbage around the net and so could (IMO) be matched with Bedard and Hall on the first line. Those latter two will get the green light to often shoot the puck; Raddysh would get his chances to clean up.
We'll see. You may be right. Or, not. As I shared in my prior post, I expect the Hawks intend to find out what he can do with TOI and talented linemates, and go from there. Cheers!

Hawks wouldn't trade a pick for Jarnkrok. Some team might, but not the Hawks. Timmins might be available on waivers if the Hawks have any interest. Again, not paying anything to acquire him.

OTT CHI match up for anther cap consideration trade
Can't see the Hawks taking 3 years of Joseph for a one round move up in two drafts. Especially this season when their forward group is already packed. Seems like a pretty light return for the Hawks. The trade that's been most agreeable to both sides is Joseph and a 2nd for Katchouk and signing rights to Kayamov.

Who wins this deal
That should be a big old decline from both teams. I know I definitely would not do this. There is simply no reason for CHI to do it. I would much rather just keep those players and use those picks and hope for Celebrini, Eiserman, or Demidov in the next draft, and someone decent with that TBL pick too. Michkov is very "boom or bust" in the sense that, if his offense doesn't translate to the NHL quite as well as everyone hopes, he doesn't have much else about his game or skillset that is desirable.

PERFECT VERSION OF THE LEAFS
Hawks decline. Murphy half retained gets a 1st plus. Brodie isn't a cap dump per se, but he's a one year replacement for Murphy at best. He's not resigning in Chicago, and Richardson doesn't like playing D men on their off side anyway. Robertson is damaged goods, and with all the young forwards the Hawks have drafted the past two years, he's not even a need at this point. Same for Peksa. Not a need. Hawks have Commesso and Gejan in their pipeline now. I'm not even sure the Hawks entertain trade offers for Murphy, but if they did, I'd say replace Robertson and Peksa with Lilypad or a 2nd round pick and that at least gets the discussion going.

In all sincerity... the cost to dump Petry is more desirable than this return for EK...with $4.5m retained...for 4 years. It's just an awful return for the current Norris winner.

I am sure OTT would fork over Jarventie or Thomson or Ostapchuk instead but apart from maybe Ostapchuk, Brannstrom is the best player with the best future.</div></div>
Is Branny better than Tinordi? Sure, no question. But better than Vlasic, Phillips or Kaiser? Can't make that claim until those 3 get actual NHL ice time this season. Longer term, Hawks top 4 LD will most likely be Korchinski and DelMastro, who looks like a stud and an absolute steal in the 4th round. Not knocking Branny, but he's just another good player at a position of strength for the Hawks. Branny would have much more value in a trade to a team actually looking for a LD.

It’s not just Korchinski, the Hawks have Vlasic, Philips, Roos and Kaiser who could be ready to make the jump to the NHL this season. On top of that, they have Del Mastro and Allan moving to the AHL this season and may not be far behind… they are all left handed D.

Kaner should be healthy enough to play by mid to late January unless he has a setback in his rehab.
Swap out Robertson for a prospect the Hawks actually want or an additional 2nd round pick and they would at least consider taking Goodrow.

Nylander Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BCAPP</b></div><div>Yeah so assuming they don't care all that much about the 6 mil cash the question is the 4.6 mil cap space. They only seen to have kurashev as a significant RFA left. Call him 2.5 and another 3 mil for 3 scratches. So 5.5 mil, leaves them with 12.5 mil in cap space. And they have ****ty options in net. Seems like they have the space if they want to and it's mostly a question of getting as much value as they want.
But it wouldn't hurt them to take him on (12.5 or 8 mil, will grow to plenty of cap space by January either way and they only have two retention slots left), so I suppose it's a question of meeting their price. <strong>But they're likely better off not playing too hard ball and getting an asset and a goalie who may help, then getting nothing I'd think.</strong> 🤷</div></div>
Hard disagree. They have 3 promising young goaltenders that need playing time. They’ve got a good setup now with Mrazek/Soderblom splitting games in the NHL and Commesso/Stauber in the AHL. Bringing in Murray screws that up and ensures that the younger guys aren’t getting games. A 3rd and a middling prospect isn’t worth it.
