Congratulations to the Winnipeg Jets on securing another first round pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wpgboy</b></div><div>your under the gun do you take the 55th pick in 22 or roll the dice and take NYR 23 2nd round pick</div></div>
Probably 55 will be the higher pick of the two since it seems kind of unlikely the Rangers get worse next year to the point where they don't make the second round. On the other hand having the 2nd next year would be useful offseason/deadline fodder whether we're looking to retool or go for it again. I'd probably go with the Rangers pick. Worst case scenario we drop back a few spots, no big deal.

I didn't watch too many Wings games being as there was no cross divisional play so only caught them just a few times. Just recalling what I saw in previous games, forums etc. Good to hear he’s pulling it all together
Really looking forward to seeing teams play that aren’t Canadian based this year! Lost track of a lot of rookies

If Copp comes with a 5 year 3.75 aav contract I think both teams accept. I really like the addition of Rasmussen.

I’d do it if Copp agreed to an extension. Love Copp’s game.

I agree and the ability to play center always helps. I just think the Jets may want a right shot guy.

Couple trades I would like to see
The value is not too bad, but it is unlikely Winnipeg would want a left shot rental back as part of a package for Copp. It's far more likely the Jets target a younger, low cost, roster player with term. Preferably a right hand shot.

not sure we want bobby or zach be nice to lock up Pionk but i think your a little light on the deal think it has to be 6 who knows maybe he like the peg and gives them a hometown discount for term not sure of the lines or pairings as well

Don't think you get Pionk at that price i agree would be nice to see i think the Jets will try to keep Copp though will have to wait and see whose arb case comes first that will make the jey=ts decesion wouldn't be surprised if a trade scenario is in place as well

Our main priority should be locking up Pionk long term, imo his negotiations r more important then Copp’s
Yes our defence substantially improved but we’ve never seen Dillon and Schmidt play in a Jets jersey
As for Copp I really hope I’m wrong but I can’t see him staying… everything looks pointed the other way.. The Jets hard against the cap, his previous arbitration negotiations with the team where he described “going to war”, the lack of opportunity here with Conner, Ehlers, Perfetti slotting in the top 6 left wing
Think they’re gonna get another deal done through arbitration and after the duration is over he’s gone

what to do and guys id give a shot to
Martinook just signed a hometown discount deal in Raleigh, why would they move him when they just extended him for three years? Plus, he's literally the best person. Off the ice, no one will ever say a bad word about Jordan Martinook, there are not enough good things that can be said about what a good person he is. I know this isn't important here, but I don't get to say that often.

Also, from what most draft experts say its a top 10 draft based on need. Maybe if Drysdale drops to 6 they think about it, but paying the price of Roslovic to do that is bonkers IMO</div></div>
ROS IMHO is never going to be more of a 3rd line player on this team and we have traded 2 first round picks and prospects to fill in FOR A 2nd line C so i am prepared to trade him

do you like the trade i was trying something different but not knowing Little's plan screws this team i think he will try to play at some point next year so cap space is tough again this year

it is part of the trade to move up if you don't trade Gudbranson isn't on the team but i took him for a year to move up to be able to draft a RHD or C

handcuffed by Littles status
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>villenash</b></div><div>WPG won't go into next season with a 21 man roster. But I've heard rumblings on Perreault, so maybe that's how they can get some extra cap space?
I don't think that the Tanev or Soucy signings are too realistic as I expect Tanev to get more than 1 year (and it being extra important now with covid and job uncertainty) and Soucy to stay in MIN. Could also sign DeMelo for cheaper than Tanev unless you think he's going to free agency. WPG has Niku that should at least be on the team next season, if not starting, and Heinola who could challenge for a spot too. So there are some cheap, internal options at defense.
I'd also expect them to just resign Eakin as opposed to Grant (probably around that cap hit too, maybe $2m).</div></div>
Samberg and Heinola are going to give the 3rd pairing LD a run for their money as they both could make the roster. It really is unfortunate that wpg has to deal with essentially another Dustin byfuglien situation in terms of having to save sufficient cap space until wpg knows what little will do. I believe it is highly unlikely he will return to play but they can’t make any moves until they’re 100% sure. Jets would be better off signing Dillon and DeMelo, along with haula to patch some of their holes

Welcome wpgboy! good to have another fellow MB guy!
Great signings!! The Erik Haula signing is my favourite. This guy would be the perfect fit in Wpg. One signing I would really like to see the Jets make is Travis Hamonic instead of Mark Pysyk. I think him and JoMo would be a great pairing. That allows Pionk to play with Edmundson and Demelo with Samberg.

Welcome to CapFriendly, youngster!! (I have all of 7 months on you.)
I'm rooting for you to sign Dylan De Melo if we don't, but I think you'll have to pay a bit more -- like $3.5 or $3.75. And I think that you should lock him up for at least 4 years.
O-K, Boomer!
