This is the equivalent of DET offering Glendening and a 4th for Weal.. do you see how it makes no sense?
Habs pass.</div></div>
haha you are right, i mean as a gm you only want to improve your team no matter what and how hard you have to work, if this implies to call 15 teams, you'll do it. If you can have a 2nd and 4th with 500K less on your payroll, you wont be a good gm if you think this is not a better plan and the return isn't worth it.
Also just suppose you dont get a 2nd but a 3rd instead cause you have trouble selling armia. You get a 3rd a 4th and 500k less on you cap to pay . this deal still better than only a 3rd, but yeah as gm you have to make a bit more call to make than initially.

i mean how much more work, i understand you have to trade him after but teams with low cap who's contender would take armia at 1.3m for a 2nd and run. i dont buy your more work argument.

TDL for playoffs
i mean dont get me wrong here, glendenning is more valuable for wings than armia and a simple 3rd which mtl have plenty will fetch a deal between teams, i know that. Each team win in this trade proposal more than only glendenning for a 3rd situation,. If mtl could afford the retained salary plus having glendenning. they would do this armia trade by themselves. But cap issues exists and this is why i include armia in that trade. However, you give us a a guy who cost 1.8m and we give you a guy that cost 2.6m and a 4th. You retained salary of 1.3m and gets a 2nd for it. For a team in rebuild a 2nd and a 4th instead of a 3rd only is in my opinion a better thing. You have cap space and money for that.
Armia is good for mtl but i think glendenning would have a better impact than him, especialy in playoffs for faceoffs. Also we need space on the cap to make some little moves by the end and we'll loose armia for nothing at the end of the year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>markmws</b></div><div>I won't comment on the trades, but just about the coach. I do not think Bergevin will fire Julien <em>yet</em>, but if they continue to slump there is a strong possibility of it happening. I do sincerely like Gerard Gallant. However, I would not necessarily be angry about Dominique Ducharme (though he's inexperienced at the NHL level), and I also think that anyone who's payed attention to the Canadiens probably adores Joël Bouchard. I am not saying that he would get the position this early, but he's done a marvelous job in Laval.
If they stick to the mantra of hiring someone that is bilingual (I am not going to talk about the rights and wrongs of doing that, just that it's historically how it's done in Montreal), other candidates could include André Tourigny, Patrick Roy, Mike Babcock, and Guy Boucher. If being bilingual is not a requirement, I could see Karl Taylor or Jim Montgomery get a look, and obviously Scott Sandelin would probably get a look too (though he'd may not budge from his position at Minnesota Duluth).</div></div>
I agree on a lot of things with you but Jim Montgomery is bilingual. He's able to speak french and could be a solid candidate. id love gerard gallant but he doesn't speak french (i know his name indicates the opposite haha). For myself i dont care which language the coach is talking as long as we win but i could understand why people cares about that. Also Bouchard is really good with developpement and this is why i want him In the AHL to developp kids. I think he would be better for the organization if he stays in laval rather than going in the nhl which is a performance league. But

Allright thanks folks for your opinion, it’s not that I don’t care, but more that I don’t know what are the needs of each team in the nhl as much as I’d love too but i can’t put more time in it that I’m putting right now, so excuse myself for not being an hockey expert. it may looks like I want to balance the trade with a draft pick but it’s not the case. It a pleasure for me to read comments and see why the trade is not correct to improve myself and have a better idea of teams need.So telling me why could help more than just say it wont happen. And it’s not that I don’t want tatar anymore but we won’t be able to sign him at the end of the year so trading him for assets could be interesting. Didn’t know reichel was an untouchable in Chicago, Dach and debrincat seems the one intouchable for me. What would be your trade proposal for. Tatar and where in that case. Thanks

Yeah, but claude didn't have a good team in the past so they let this go, but now Marc Bergevin give him assets to produce. Julien is ans experience coach but i think he doesn't adjust his team and teams adjust to us. You have to adjust as long as the season advance and this year he doesn't have the excuse to tell he doesn't have a club to perform. Maybe his message doesnt pass anymore and its now or never. Guys looks not ready every game, yes its their responsability to be ready but maybe they're not pump enough before games and the game plan is not effective anymore.

seriously doubt he'll get the contract he wants, many reasons, cap stable for years, doesn't have the season start he expected and stats are not there, montreal would be gentle to offer 5m but they'll do because he's a quebecer and really appreciate by the fans. I understand your point, but being realistic, you have the choice to be a solid 2C-3C in a contender team with 4.5m-5m or playing for the sens, wings, kings, etc for 6m-6.5m and you wont have this chance in a near future. Either he's a smart guy or he plays for money.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like mete at all. Like the guy skate well and have a good transition but he loose his 1vs1 battle and as a défenseman you should put yourself more in a physical way. I don’t say that he’s a bad player but he can’t score and put points and he’s not too great defensively. I strongly think he should be à forward seeing the way he plays. Zub seems to be more physical and better defensively.

How its a debatable hit ? nothing to win, the game is barely finished with only 3 mins left, no way van could win this its out of hand and it looks like pure vandetta. He also have all time on earth to stop his hit when he see armia with the head down and no way to protect himself. Not only that you see him push with his elbow and shoulder right to the head. Not only to mentionned that hes a recidivist. A suspension is a no brainer here. NHL should be careful here because depending the decision you send a message, Im not for fighting necessarly but you have to pay for a cheap shot like this and face your decision, either youre out by the league or someone take care of you.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>I just want to touch on the "His value dropped because he asked for a trade." part, because it irks me when people say it without really thinking about it. I'm curious as to why you'd think it?
Here's how I look at it:
-PLD wants to be traded.
-He's under team control for 4 more years.
-He's 22.
-He has absolutely zero leverage.
-There's no rush to move him, and Jarmo has continued to show that he's probably the most underrated GM in the league.
If anything, I'd say his value has probably increased, given that there's a number of suitors out there looking to pick him up, now that they know he's available. As I said above, it's not like there's a gun to their head where they HAVE to move him, they just know that at some point, it's something that they're going to do. But, they can wait until they get the best offer available. Honestly, there's probably 15+ teams checking in on him, which is going to drive the price up. I realistically see no reason why anyone would think that Columbus would take a discount to move him at this point.
Also, from PLD's side, his best bet of being traded is to actually go out and play 100% every game (Again, since Columbus isn't likely to sell him at a discount).</div></div>
i understand your point but before all the rumours starts im probably sure if someone call for dubois jarmo hang up and he wasn't on the market, this is why i'd say his value drop, he is now no more untachable and jarmo doesnt have the choice to be open to trade him. Still the value has to be there.

Another question, Would you keep Tatar knowing he's the best winger of MTL offense since he arrived and the fact that he love the city and organization and would probably accept a similar deal as the one he has right now ? That's why i was trading Drouin here, he's still young and have potential but doesn't perform as Tatar and for the same price. Knowing his potential could explode with a great center man like monahan, so him, mete, a first and second, a B proscpect in ikonen makes a fair deal for a guy who will be UFA in 2 years. I seriously doubt that MB will trade A+ prospects for a guy like goudreau but this is my opinion and i might be wrong.
