Kylington is such a mystery, he arrived at camp but then there are so many rumours and such about why he didn't pass the training camp tests and why he missed last year. You feel for the guy and really just try ignore it and let him have his peace, if we see him on NHL ice again at some point then it's really all just a bonus</div></div>
It was always to trade Kubalik, from the moment Tarasenko was signed
Dorion is just a weirdo though

moving Branny doesn'y do anything for the Sens' cap issues. 2M deal and they'd still need to replace his spot on the lineup. take 800k for that and with the Sens having just 62k in space, ~1.2-1.3M isn't enough to sign Pinto, let alone carry a 13th forward or 7th defenceman. so the cap crunch thing for the Sens is kinda a moot point. regardless, Branny's price is minimum a 2nd, probably in the area of like a 2nd and a 4th/5th

Also fantasy hockey posts are pretty boring if you just post the lines from DFO.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yycofred</b></div><div>I kind of figured that would be the case when looking through Colorado's cap page, they don't really have a contract to move out that would make this deal reasonable for both sides and I don't think Calgary will want to retain for two seasons as they notoriously are against paying guys to not play here.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>That depends on if it's temporary. If Francouz is shutdown for 5 months at least a young 1B goalie with no injury history is probably your best bet</div></div>
Yeah I wouldn't expect Calgary to retain. It's why I think this deal doesn't make as much sense as others do.
In terms of Frankie being out long term, yeah that could change things. But unless he's out for the year, then you have to account for what happens when he returns. I think the Avs will look to get someone they can fully bury if need be.

According to Eric Francis
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yycofred</b></div><div>Coleman - Kadri - Coronato/Dube would be super interesting and never really even crossed my mind. I get so bogged down in keeping Coleman and Backlund together. I think we are on similar trains of thought, I would like to see Pelletier and Backlund together regardless of who is on that wing.
Huberdeau Lindholm will have a ton of impact on what happens on the right wing, I hope Sharengovich can work up there but you're probably right that Mang or Coronato are a better fit.</div></div>
While I definitely get keeping Coleman and Backlund together I'm far more inclined to keep Backlund and Mange on the same line. Coleman is probably the most versatile player on our team. He won't play on the first line but I could easily see him slotting on any of lines 2, 3, or 4 depending on how many of the young high potential players make the roster (Pelletier, Coronato, and Zary). If 2-3 of them make it I would rather have Coleman on the 4th line than Dube as he is so reliable defensively and plays the physical checking role great (would mesh well with Duehr, Ruzika, and Klapka in that role IMO). Otherwise he could play and fit in on either of Backlund's or Kadri's wing just fine. With Backlund there is obvious chemistry, but with Kadri having a 2-way grinder winger makes a lot of sense too

According to Eric Francis
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yycofred</b></div><div>Because I think that the 4th line of Klapka - Dube - Duehr is significantly more responsible in every zone than one centered by Ruzicka. He is really really poor in transition which it sounds like this coaching staff will be pushing and I think that a 4th line without him provides the team way more flexibility when it comes to rolling 4 lines night after night.
If Zary is pushing is sure makes the forward group deeper and more skilled, it's great that they found some diamonds in the rough in Klapka, Duehr but the high skill guys pushing for spots is what's going to push the team forward. It stinks that Poirier couldn't play in Penticton, I hope he's 100% for camp and can show out again.</div></div>
Do you think Ruzicka is better suited for the wing then? I think he was fine at center last year, just needed more experience. He has the speed and size to play the position and he's not bad at faceoffs by any means. Transition game can be taught if you have the skillset to do it.
Personally I would much prefer to see Dube playing on Kadri's line. I think they meshed really well together last year. Then put either Pelletier or Sharangovich with them and you have a very fast and explosive line.
I think Zary will still probably stay in the minors this year centering the top line but I would not be against him making the team if Coronato isn't ready yet.

Solovyov and Kuznetsov fill out the pipeline but there is no rush on any of that with the current situation. I don't think Brannstrom is a bad target I think it's just the wrong fit right now and isn't worth spending contributing assets which they would have to do for cap reasons.</div></div>
Well I completely forgot about Kylington
Just looked at dailyfaceoff.com line combinations and defense would be pretty good if everyone was there
Noah Hanifin - Rasmus Andersson
MacKenzie Weegar - Chris Tanev
Oliver Kylington - Nikita Zadorov
Weegar and Zadorov being able to play both sides gives a lot of options too
So yeah Brannstrom might not be a need

I fear Conroy overplayed his hand and got stuck with Vladar for this season. A 3 headed goalie monster is a disaster waiting to happen, if you can recall the Hiller/Ramo/Ortio disaster from 2015 as an example. And more importantly, Wolf needs a spot in the NHL this year and should get at least 25 starts in big league. He has nothing left to prove in the minors

Bruins have 5 mil in cap, and that's to resign Swayman and Freddy who are theoretically what's going to SJ in this trade. Another piece like Gryz (who the Sharks could use) and that's plenty of cap. Retention with SJ could also be possible.

<strong>Agree it does seems a bit high. But there is a precedent that a top 4 defender signed to a LT extension returns a Player, Prospect and 1st. </strong> If the Flames retained money on Hanifin which Dallas would need for cap purposes it would be closer. The Stars would need to move money out to make it work. Marchment could be another player the Flames may have interest in but he has a 10 team no trade clause. If I was Conroy, the player I would be interested in would be Thomas Harley (ex. Faksa and Harley), but I don't think Dallas would want to move their young defender after his play in the playoffs last year.

Good trade for both teams. There was almost no chance the Flames could get a 1st this year with how deep the draft is said to be. Flames got a good young player with potential, Devils get a playoff player. Let’s all relax and see how Sharangovich does.
