Lists are submitted at the beginning of the year and they don't change. If you genuinely believe Boston, Vegas, LA, Colorado, Dallas are all on that list you're a moron, beyond that, if you think they are on the list and he wouldn't waive to get out of Calgary, you are intentionally being dumb for attention.

Name the other players that only have playoff teams on their no trade list... you can't just throw that out there to feel right when it's complete BS..

It's also interesting that you are ignoring Bertuzzi's NMC or expecting him to waive for a team selling assets but it would be completely otherworldly for Tanev to consider waiving to go to a top team in the league.

If you think this is great analysis then it certainly explains why you don't know the difference between xGF% and OixGF% is eh??

This would mean that all those things are mutually exclusive which obviously isn't true, guy has put 6 or 7 of the top teams in the NHL on a 33 year old players no trade list that has an expiring contract, he has to go play there for 3 months and then pick where he wants to play.. first flaw in the logic. If you don't think Dallas could use a RD on a right side of Lundkvist and Hakanpaa, you're lost, if you don't think that you can apply that logic to plenty of other teams, you're lost.

Calgary has put a hold on all contract talks, if you don't think that screams "looking for futures" well then no one can really help you.

GM's don't care about an expiring UFA going to a competitor in a year they're looking to gain picks, that's mental midget talk.

I would love to agree with you guys but then all of us would just be wrong!

Firstly that would be “on ice expected goals” secondly.. as he should the team he’s on has 36 goals for, the flames have 8 less and Tanev is asked to play minutes against the other teams best players. Klingberg is sheltered and given ozone starts because he’s so bad. Look at what he was traded for last year and then try justify why he’s magically gained value since putting a leafs sweater on. Don’t be dumb just for fun.

Klingberg has a higher expected goals than Tanev and Zadorov…. Well I would hope so.. two are not expected to score and actually play defense. Klingberg is a PP specialist with bad numbers on the PP the last two years…. What on earth would you possibly get from making this story up?!

No one wants Garland. The Flames have $30M in cap space this upcoming off season and no need to tie themselves to another undersized middle 6 winger. If you think Garland and Tanev have similar value or fit in the same deal then I would be lead to believe this is the first time you have been around for an NHL trade deadline. The Flames also don't need to sign players, if they ship out Lindholm, Hanifin, Tanev and fill their roster with their current pipeline and pieces gained in trades there's no need to go UFA hunting at all, that's a moot point.

Hey, rants with valid information, tangible ideas and thought out opinions are always welcome. That's super fair and maybe in an unfortunate way the injuries are a blessing in disguise at the negotiation table this offseason, if there is one thing Treliving is really good at it's getting his RFA's at really good numbers so that bodes well for Leafs fans. Neimela is likely a better target for the Flames anyways, more realistic and a better timeline.
