That's why I said it wouldn't be very popular. Stats and eye test both say he is a 2nd line center. Just my 2 cents.

I would go Ellis or Ekholm. Might not be popular in Edmonton but I do not see RNH as a #1 elite centre. Not a strong 2 way game, awful in the dot and hasn't hit above the mid 50s in points despite having Hall and Eberle on his wings.

Why would preds do that trade? Josi is a D and has more points than RNH.
Laughable.

Why would Carolina do that trade? This board is polluted with dumb unrealistic trades from pens fans....I guess this is another.

Hornqvist returns/Johansen trade

I would love a Ellis for Johansen swap but the reality is 23 year old 1C that have scored 70 points do not grow on trees and the CBJ will want quite a bit. Which I can't blame them for.</i></div></div>
Don't think Johansen has ever scored 60 or 70 points, he has settled into a 45 point man for years. ( I checked his stats, though I could be wrong) # 1 centre? Backstrom and Kuznetov has surpassed him, he might be # 2 LW behind Ovechin and just a head of the young Buraukowky. (sorry about the spelling)</i></div></div>

While I agree Wilson has not done much...He has 1 more point then Hornqvist who has been playing with Crosby ans Malkin for a majority of the year. Change of scenery might do both of them some good.

Why is every pens trade involve the pens unloading all the crappy players they don't want and getting Hart/Norris level players back. A lot of mediocre players does not equal a good one.
Damn.

Nope-Mike Richards never scored a 100. I would not trade Fiala and a 1st for him either:)

Malkin Trade (At 2016 Draft)
Wilson has not played centre in 4 years. He is also a heavy winger. Forsberg has not played centre in 3 years and his skillset works quite well on the wing. To be a Stanley Cup contender they need a legit 1C.

Malkin Trade (At 2016 Draft)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div><i>Centre doesn't seem to be a problem with Preds. Doesn't seem to be the Nashville way to offer big UFA contracts. If Nashville really wanted to spend 9.5m on a player, they could in free agency and not give up any assets like those 2 first rounders or Ellis or Wilson. Is Malkin deserving of being the third highest paid player in the league, now and 6 years into his contract? Bad value for Preds but great for Pens</i></div></div>
I agree this is an awful trade for Nashville but how is centre not an issue for the Preds Palhal? You have said this on numerous occasions. They are really weak down the middle-they need a top line centre.
