Cirelli
This is an insane price for a depth player. Not even looking at the first and second round pick; his contract is awful for a guy who puts up 40 points in a good season.
This is another Connor Garland type player - which we have been trying to give away for the past two years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHAR</b></div><div>If you want to ignore all of the cap implications of why Miller and Horvat were available in the first place then go for it. The point you guys are missing is that the Ducks neither need to nor want to trade Vatrano. This isn't about value, it's about availability.
You also didn't trade Horvat to a division opponent. You sent him packing to the eastern conference for a pretty lack luster return largely because of the pending UFA status. Don't pretend stuff like this doesn't matter either.</div></div>
Of Miller sure, although his contract looks like a bargain at this point anyway especially after the market appears to be resetting to PPG guys making $10-$12MM. Almost any team could have afforded Horvat at the TDL - maybe not all could've afforded his extension. The in division stuff is pretty pointless as well - it's not like the Canucks and Van are competing for the same playoff spot.
Fair enough if you just want to keep him - I thought your comment stating Canucks weren't giving up anything scoring 20 goals hinted it was towards value. I don't really understand why the ducks wouldn't want to sell a veteran on a career year but I don't follow your team.

Price on him
I hope the Canucks don't do this - but I'd think his value right now is about a 2nd round pick. I hope they hold on to him because you can see the talent he has clearly on the ice even if the points aren't coming. I think some team will probably buy low on him given where the Canucks are currently at in the standings and they can't afford to wait on him.

paying for a deep run
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Flames1217</b></div><div>Not true.
We need snipers and our system is lacking right handed wingers.
Coronato is basically the only viable RH RW prospect that we have, bringing in Kuzmenko would not only help the PP but full a huge organizational need and not block anybody.
We can't have a team built solely on playmakers.</div></div>
Although I agree that being worried about 'blocking' prospects is kind of a weird thing to worry about - and I think Kuzmenko is great. I unfortunately do need to add that Kuzmenko is very much a playmaker not a sniper. He has a great shot but he rarely uses it - almost all his 'shots' come from in tight, jam plays and tips.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CHAR</b></div><div>Yeah, they kind of don't when you're talking about a 25 OA or worse pick. The Canucks could easily win the presidents trophy. Added to the Ducks having a top 3 prospect pool already, another top 3 pick in the draft and two more 2nd rounders after that. It's not a huge stretch to say that pick you are offering is a lot more valuable to the Canucks than it is to the Ducks.
You say he's on a heater but he's really not. His shooting percentage is pretty normal for his career 14.7%. A tad higher than the career number 10.7 but he's had other stints this good or better. His PDO is below 100. Vatrano's season is a lot about ice time and opportunity and quality line mates. If Vancouver is going to stick him on line 3 without PP time absolutely his numbers will crash back down. The Ducks ain't gonna do that though.</div></div>
It's nuts that we spent pretty much all of last year arguing that JT Miller was worth a first and getting crushed by every other fan on this site and then now hearing Vatrano is worth (I don't even know because I guess the Ducks don't need first rounders anymore) first, fourth, prospect ++.
Horvat had 31 goals and 54 points (49 GP) when he was traded and we got a first, a B prospect and a cap dump. Horvat was a pending UFA but we also retained, and I think anyone with a brain knows Horvat is considerably better than Vatrano.

Pinto train
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>What does Pod do that’s high end? Does he have a defining skill?</div></div>
IMO, he's impressive physically. He has had flashes where he drops a shoulder and drives to the net and looks like a legitimate power forward. He's a very hardworking player and has good playmaking ability - although his hands can look awkward at times, like he has the skill to pull of a move but doesn't know when to do it. He's supposedly good defensively, although my untrained eye has a pretty hard time following what he does defensively so well.
I think a comparable (and probably his absolute ceiling) would be a Dustin Brown, Zach Hyman or Brayden Schenn type player.

I think Guentzel is a better player but Boeser having a year left and being a couple years younger makes him likely more valuable, IMO.
I figure Eller is probably worth a 3rd/4th and added him as depth for a playoff run.

They're 19th in the league in GF. Probably worse when you consider some teams behind them have games in hand. Offence may not be the problem but it's not like they are dynamos.

It would take a massive overpay to pry Jenner from the Jackets. Probably would be Knies, although i know Leafs fans would say that ridiculous and of course they wouldnt do that, which is exactly how we feel about trading Jenner.</div></div>
I don't really understand CBJ fans... It's clearly not working, why do you want to hold on to Jenner so bad?
