Try these lines for a game

You're allowed to do this on CFACGM.</div></div>
Yeah idk, I found his response a bit snarky and condescending, but maybe I'm just used to normal social cues in real life.

Read the title... I'm saying try it for a game bud, no need to get too worked up. Also, it's not like Lily has been fantastic lately anyway, so I don't see the harm in letting him sit for <strong>one</strong> game.

What the lines should be until theres a trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SomeonesOffended</b></div><div>Lmao this is brutal zero chance they bring up Clifford jarnkrok and Gregor aren’t getting scratched domi doesn’t leave 3C Knies needs to be in the top 6</div></div>
yeah it's not realistic at all obviously, but I'm at my wits end watching an ineffective bottom 6 that can't produce offence OR defend. So at least in this case the 4th line will hit some guys and the third line might actually produce some offence.
Knies top 6 convo is interesting because I agree he's got the skill to hang there, but he's also clearly burnt out having never played remotely close to this much hockey before. Top 6 minutes would certainly give him nothing left in the tank come playoff time.
But you are right- I don't think my lines are realistic- it's more of a philosophical change I'd like to see unless they can get some new bodies in the lineup.

The Hard discussion is coming
You absolutely have a point, and I agree. To piggyback on that, they need to see what they can get for expiring UFA’s like Bertuzzi, Domi, and maybe even Brodie and McMann? If they can get some picks or any sort of value for those guys, I would do it. Go into next season with Matthews and Nylander with bigger contracts and less team cap space, see what they’ve got in some of their prospects and Marlies and see who can take a step. And then the following year, when Tavares and Marner are off the books is when you go for it. Re-sign Tavares on the cheap as a 3C or second line left wing. Let Marner walk if he won’t take a discount. Hopefully Minten and Cowan are ready, and hopefully Knies has come into full form. The remaining enormous amount of cap space can be used to bolster the lineup accordingly. But damn do they ever need to decide if they are buyers or sellers, because if they are punting, letting guys walk for nothing once again would be majorly disappointing.

This could actually make sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SociallyHawkward</b></div><div>Hawks aren't interested. Nylander has been underpaid for so long and watched his teammates make bank. He's gonna want a ridiculous contract that'll end up being worse than jones. Much rather overpay a top pair RD than a 2nd line RW</div></div>
2nd line RW? Are you trolling? He banked 40 goals and 87 points this season, and another 10 points in 11 playoff games. To compare, Panarin makes 11.6m and put up 29 goals in the regular season and 2 points in 7 playoff games. Nylander is an elite player and better than most 1st line wingers in the league, he'll probably get 7x10m somewhere and he will be worth every penny. "Hawks aren't interested" ...yikes....

You may very well be right. I suppose it depends on how badly he wants to win; it's probably still going to be a few years until the Blackhawks are legit contenders.

Couple Buyouts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BrockChoy</b></div><div>TBH I don't see why the hawks would do this as they'd probably wanna collect/keep as many picks as possible.</div></div>
yeah that's valid- it's less about the hawks perspective and more about the leafs perspective. They could definitely flip him for a 3rd to some team who wants some more depth scoring in the regular season lol

This is a genuine question: Don't you think that Anaheim could use a veteran player like Jarnkrok to take some of the pressure off of all the young talent? Jarnkrok put up 20 goals and 19 assists last season on a very team-friendly contract. Isn't this the kind of exact guy the Ducks could use to insulate those inexperienced young players? If not, I'm curious what player out there you think would be better suited in that role.

You obviously didn't read my description. The point of my post isn't the specific trades. It's more about what sort of roster flexibility the leafs have by moving an expensive piece like Marner and adding Knies who's on an ELC. The specific teams and players involved my trades are just there as placeholders for how I'd construct a roster to make them more competitive. But yes, go off King.

How are they going to sign Knies
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>Essentially, the Leafs had Alexander on a ATO, creating an emergency back up situation to call up Woll for a cap hit of $0 until they non longer need that emergency (when Murray comes back, it would be playoff time by then, allowing them to go over the cap), doing this while sending down Simmonds, allows them to have just enough space to sign Knies with no performance bonuses added into the contract.
I suggest going to CapFriendly's twitter account for a better understanding</div></div>
So does the scenario you just outlined imply he wouldn't be able to sign until the playoffs? Meaning he wouldn't actually get to play any regular season games?

1 season of Matt Murray to upgrade their 2nd to a 1st? The Hawks would take that in a heart beat lol. They literally took Mrazek to trade up in the draft just last year.

I feel like the fact the Domi is a UFA after this season and Robertson is a young cost controlled RFA in 2 years makes it pretty fair for CHI to take on Kerfoot for the rest of the year to make the money work, but I get where your head is at.
